This is another instance why I buy from Amazon as they would have replaced it.
When I thought my Kindle would not charge properly, after 3 years,
they offered to replace it but it was my charger that was faulty.
I would contact them and ask if they could help.

Sometimes its worth getting Something like this for children but the normal case/covers are about £5 pound on Ebay
