Loving all the makes well done to you all. No actual makes to report i am just meddling with wips stuff at the mo. Decided to make another quilt for our bed a always useful. The blocks will each be of houses in the form of foundation piecing quilting something never tried before. No two blocks the same, so not a quick make but an interesting one all the same. Lots of different colours and patterns proberly a bit quiky buts lots of fun.

That sounds lovely - and fun - rosie.

All I can say, Pixie, is that I have far too much Hunkydory stash, never mind the rest, lol!

Popped on to see whats happening on here, very quiet so people must be enjoying Easter despite the awful weather. Nothing to report n the makes front as not been doing much. Seem to be picking things up then putting them down, i need to get back into gear and start finishing what i started before i move on to something else. Was doing so well in knuckling down to finishing stuff. No excuses, enjoy the rest of whats left of Easter and i will catch up with all of you later.

    Love the Easter cards greentiger.

I've been flitting between different craft things, gardening, tidying and enjoying having my family round so nothing got finished.

    Beautiful cards greentiger

Worked over Easter hopefully I will manage to make some more cards over the next few days.
  • Hello everyone! :hello:

I used to be a regular on the crafting forum back during most of 2014, but haven't been doing as much craft-wise for a while. Sadly, this hasn't stopped me from embroidery thread stash building on a shameful scale. I did a blog post (which I'm making an annual thing now) detailing what I'd bought over the year and I'd been disgustingly good in all but the embroidery supplies category. If I remember correctly, 2015 saw me adding over 70 items of thread and a couple more dozens packs of beads to my stash. Of which I've used maybe, um, probably, erm, actually, none at all.....:embarasse

So, I'm already committed to no more stash building and came back from the big Knitting and Stitching Show in Harrogate last Nov with a records low number of buys - some gold work thread for one of the 3 Craftsy courses I'd bought (anyone else been using them at all?) and a part worked piece from a £5 stitch and take activity. :T

Looking for a challenge to motivate me, this thread seems to be the most relevant as I want to use only my own stash wherever I can for current and near future projects, but I don't want to make them all cross stitch, nor can I commit to 16 projects. I failed with 14 in 2014 when I joined from the start, so I'm not going to manage 16 in just 9 months. Also, as we moved recently, I got into the minimalist idea somewhat and halved my personal possessions, so using up some stash is a natural progression.

So, what's on for the foreseeable rest of year? So far, I'm thinking:
    1) Finish lilac baby cardy - needs buttons and decorative stitching trims
    2) Finish red baby cardy - needs about 3/4 of the back pulling out and re-doing (I lost a stitch back there and made the whole piece 3cm too long). Rest also to knit.
    3) Pastels baby quilt
    4) Orientals baby quilt (fabrics selected and pressed for both) (2 PG friends)
    5) Finish 'Paradise Island' cross stitch and finish up into a cushion cover for Sir - XS about 65% done
    6) Something for J&G's wedding, probably a freestyle embroidery sampler
    7) Start making new scatter cushion cover(s) for our cushions which are very yonderly!!!:p:p Use one of the Craftsy courses for much of the technique.
    8) A self-designed cross stitch piece for this year's Fayre (??)
    9) A raised work horticulture show design for the Fayre
    10) Some pastel pencil tree frog sketches/studies also for the Fayre (and/or other local events)

    Gosh, 10!

Should need to buy little or nothing beyond a couple of buttons and zips for this lot.

    Best get on. ...:p

I have been very non crafty recently.

I have started my new role!! Woo hoo it's been a scintillating week of reading and stuff. Haha

I have however today managed to downsize a few items on my craft room. I have refilled my ink pens and have also drawn a mandala. It's a simple affair - black and pink. It's a little smudged - I should have waited longer before running out the ink I think.

It's been a nice relaxed day - and I'm feeling like I've achieved a little something.

I have recognised I NEED to fully sort out the craft room. I was bought a DAB radio for Christmas which hasn't been out of the box as I have no shelf near the plug to put it on. Sooooo I have requested cash or IKEA vouchers for my birthday this month and I will be buying a Kallax shelf set 2x4 cubes. I need the extra storage and this will fit - and hopefully mop up a lot of cluttered bits.

I would love to free up my table to be able to sew easier - without having to bend and break my back on the coffee table.

    117 / 500 so far.

I would like in April to commit to:

    1. Building the Kallax unit.
    2. Clearing the table - into said Kallax
    3. Organising all craft books and papers.
    4. Getting my DAB radio out and tuning it.
    5. Creating a pin board of some description.
    6. Finding my compasses.
    7. Seeing if I can set up my printer -

I'm loving seeing all the crafts - and I WILL crack on and get some stuff done.

One make to add to my total which is now standing at 55/200. A short sleeve top made in a tropical type pattern fabric, it is not to bright but lovely for the summer. From start to finish about two hours work so i will use it again to make a few more tops. Also cut out a kimono top in chiffon, the colours are similar to the top, so a perfect match.
