Not sure if this helps but My internet contract with AOL ran out a fortnight ago. When I first signed up with AOL they had just bought out a whole new load of internet deals and AOL seemed to be the right one to go for at the time. In hindsite I wish I had waited a little while longer for Tiscali to bring out their sub £10 pound proper broadband.
Now these companies have introduce a load of new offers in the last month or so, Orange and AOL with their free laptop offers and Tiscali and Talk Talk with free internet if you sign up for their landline offers. But, Im going to play the waiting game this time around, and leave it till nearer Christmas to wait and see what else comes out.
At the end of the day you have got to look at price, and how much you use the internet. In all fairness I have used quite a few internet providers and I can honestly say that one is no better than the other. I have had good and bad experiences but the more you get into something the more you begin to understand the ins and outs of it.
Its realy down to personal choice and getting the best deal.To travel at the speed of light, one must first become light.....0 -
to be honest i am kinda sick to death with call centres and large isp's!
i have also just seen the ratings lists over at dslzone here http://www.dslzoneuk.net/isp_ratings.php
i see that titan are in the sub 50 votes and are top of it. i mean is this actually mean they are better than the big boys?0 -
Its possible that this company rely's more on recomendations at the moment, and if someone recomend's a company, your more likely to use that company than go with a major brand name and all the horror stories that go with it.
The more customers a company has the more complaints they have, it goes with the territory, and for every complaint they have they probably have a hundred happy customers. Dont get me wrong they probably are a good company and I will take all considerations into account when changing to my new ISP.
I might even consider Titan myself.:beer:To travel at the speed of light, one must first become light.....0 -

Ok i have now migrated on Tuesday to TitanADSL omg and i must say omg again! Fantastic service Fantastic Speed and worth every penny my sync rate prior with my old ISP was 6500 and my instant sync rate is 8128 with a downstream attuation of 32db, just left them a review here yesterday. http://www.dslzoneuk.net/isp_details.php?isp=106
Well done Titan0 -
Just to let you know that TitanADSL are still great in 2008. Not the cheapest deal on the market, but you get what you pay for. When I can speak to the same bloke whenever I phone up for help (Thanks Abs!) and get sensible advice that he talks me through in real time, then I think that is well worth the money. (Not a problem with the service, just me being dim about migrating my Dad's website to their server)
Top service!0 -

Maybe if you only pick on the cheapest you always get the same quality.
Not all ISP's are the same, give Zen internet a try and see what I mean.0 -
well said, brickbat. "I can honestly say that one is no better than the other" says, to me, that the op, Tom, has only experienced the likes of tiscali etc. and is talking (through ignorance) out of his bottom. There is a reason why Aston Martins cost more than Fiat Puntos, and a reason why TalkTalk cost less than Idnet etc.Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0

ZEN are more expensive and give you less bandwith i pay £19.56 per month and get 330GB to use on TitanADSL and same on ZEN will cost you £21.27 for 25GB!
you must be mad paying more for less!0 -
TitanADSL have been great for us too - BT and Tiscali cocked up the migration, but Titan sorted things out pretty quickly. I was surprised that Entanet require you to register any email addresses that you want to use in the "from" field when using their SMTP servers, but now that's been done the service is working fine.
Although Titan's lines are only open during office hours, whenever I've called (a few times now) I've got through instantly to either David or Abs who clearly know exactly how the service works and have both provided excellent customer service... unlike Tiscali who were unable to change our account details, didn't know what "uploading" was (yes, really), try to talk you through a pointless and tedious script and have screwed up our bills in the past.0
