Yet people still sign up, and then complain when things go exactly as warned!
Oh how I wish that I had taken the time to search the chat forum and read the postings like the above regarding Talk Talk before I signed up.
Please be warned that they are totally incompetent, do not communicate and in short have no idea of the definition of Customer Service.
It has taken them over 5 weeks from my order to transfer the landline from BT and it has now been 8 weeks and I am still without the broadband service!!
Trying to communicate with them is like pulling teeth, I have been forced to call their 0870 number numerous times and have never received a straight answer. Don't even think about emailing them, it takes weeks to get a response!!
I have tried signing up with another supplier but they require a MAC code, despite the service having not been provided in the first place by Talk Talk.
Please take heed and do not sign up or you too will die of frustration like myself!!

Hi All
i have read the reviews about talk talk with great interest as i have been with then for almost a year. i wouldn't call myself a large downloader (about 10gb a month, but that is with 4 computers linked wireless). on the whole i have had no problems with talk talk, that was until about 3 months ago when i started to notice my p2p program almost brought to a halt.
i rang TT and they told me my account had not been capped! bloody liars! my connection is constaltly dropping out and i have to reboot my router about 15 times an hour! so much for always on!! their "customer service " is not existant and when you do get through they have no idea what they are talking about but quote very well from the "talk talk waffle book".
they firmley state they do not offer help with customers who use "wireless routers" even though they are selling them on their website!
Anyway i have decided to cancel my broardband account with them but keep my telephone service as they are still cheaper than BT (unless you know better?)
does anyone know of a reasonably priced, unlimited, fast, reliable ISP?? i'm asking a lot i know...lol
Cheers

TT are only very very fractionally cheaper than BT, on landline calls, calls to mobiles they are dearer than BT, calls to 0845/0870 numbers they are dearer.
If you are on their line rental, then that can work out dearer if you have additional services such as caller display, as TT charge for it, yet with BT it is free via BT Privacy.
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=1598074&postcount=4 should have all the info you require about a phone service. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
I had similar problems to BexTech above. However, some of it was my fault. I have about 6 telephone extensions in the house, but did not put a microfilter on each extension. The reason was that I was with Demon broadband before and they did not need microfilters everywhere. The problems have reduced, but at certain times in the evenings, I have problems connecting.
As for telephone calls, make sure you are comparing like for like. I use their c£22.50 offering which gives free calls (with 70 mins time limit) to all UK landlines and North America and Western Europe and Australasia. So if you have relatives in any of these countries, it can work out very reasonable.
I do know a number of people who keep Talk Talk's telephone service, but use another broadband provider. Their T&C's do say that they do not support P2P services, so be aware of this.
