    Morning all
    Hope everyone is well.
I had the contents of a large but thankfully harmless cyst minimised this morning so feel a little sore.

Plan to make do with some of the contents of the fridge and cupboards for tea tonight,

No mending but I've knitted a few instant smoothie hats so I'll get them sewn up and finished off.

    Have a lovely day all

Hello everyone, not much happening at this end, just more knitting and dog sitting.
Minimising and Making do with food out of freezer a piece of beef bought just before Christmas when they were selling heavily discounted because of low demand, this has done Sunday lunch and sarnies and did evening meal last night using football cabbage. I did extra mash and cabbage and this will be bubble and squeeze tonight with brown sauce and bread and butter.
Hope you all have a nice day what ever you may be doing x
Why pay full price when you may get it YS ;)

Today I've been sorting more items from my friends house for the carboot sale, and minimising chicken carcass for stock.

I'm making do with dinner at my friend house so not using my food!:)

When I get home I will be working on my quilt so sort of mending.

I've been given a few free items of food so my cupboards and fridge rarely empty enough to have to stock up from the shops. I'm not complaining! :rotfl:

Lollyfin Have a look at 'The Bookworm 2016' thread on here, its great for reviews about books that other folk on here have read and liked.

Just been reading back a few pages and its so good that we all seem to be singing from the same sheet so to speak.

MMMing has taken off so well and is inspiring others to do the same, even if its only making do with what you have in stock without buying more stuff in.

I am trying to 'work' down my freezer at the moment and its very gradually reducing, by making do with what I have already in stock

Minimising clutter and 'junk' is also doing well in my house as I seem to accumulate it ( I swear it multiplys overnight some times :))
Mending is something of a chore at times for me as I'm not a very keen sewer, but I can darn fairly well (just as well as both of my DDs loathe sewing) But I do enjoy knitting and make quite a few charity blankets for The Linus Trust.

We all have different skill-sets though and this forum is great for helping people realise what they can do if they give it a go. even if its just learning perhaps to stretch their cash a bit further .

Well done everyone on all of your posts about what you get up to in trying to make your cash and talents get shared around

    Hello MMMers,

Today I minimised a lawn mower (a friend is in need of one, and I no longer have grass to cut), and a drying rack which I no longer need went to the local charity shop.

Mending: repaired a cardboard box to send off books to ziffit.

Making Do: I had a very late lunch and re-heated yesterday's casserole, rather than start from scratch. A third portion will do for tomorrow's evening meal after work. I could have frozen it, but I don't mind having the same meal for three days on the trot - one of the joys of living solo is that I can suit myself. Some weekends I batch cook and freeze, but made do as I was so busy minimising the books.
  • Minimise: time on internet! I have decided to cut right back so I get more done. I also have a bag through the letter box that I will fill today and put out in the morning.

Make do: still eating cottage cheese muffins. Think I may have to chuck the last couple though and they are not looking very happy.

Mend: still crocheting when I get chance.

Minimised another ball of wool from the stash last night but it wasn't enough so need to find a toning/contrasting ball to finish the hat off.
Got a piece of fabric out I bought to make a dress a couple of years ago so I plan to get that morning.
Tea minimised a couple of bags of YS veg I'd got cheap at the weekend

No mending yet but do need to rip a bootee back I knitted as I don't have enough wool for the second one.

    Have a good day all

Good morning all. it's cold here and sleet is falling but thankfully not sticking.
I'm off to get train tickets today. Our local newspaper printed tokens for the Northern line which you can use to buy tickets for anywhere on their lines for £10 per passenger. So a day out in York tomorrow for OH, DD1, me and my mum. We're are going to eat out but I bought some Pizza express gift cards from Tesco with 20% off and I have some money off vouchers so cost shouldn't be too bad.
Minimising: Yesterday I continued with minimising in my bedroom and shower room and found yet more stuff! 8 tubes of toothpaste, more shaving gel (but I got it when it was on offer he says) and lots of body lotion/butter.
I also cleared a cupboard out and found 3 hair straighteners, some curling tongs and a hot brush which I am going to try and sell on fleabay. I've never tried to sell anything on fleabay before so wish me luck. I've also put bits in a box for a car boot later in the year and have another box of stuff for the charity stuff.
It does look nice and tidy though. This afternoon I'm starting on a set of drawers.
Make do: We ate the last of the veg soup at lunchtime and DD1 used up some cheese for her sandwiches.
Mending: We found another pair of OH's walking trousers that need taking up as they are too long. I'll do those on Friday.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Made DH his favourite Granny Cake yesterday and turned the small remainder of a pork casserole into 4 portions of pork & bean soup. Went to DS1 for dinner - he'd made a sort of stew with some lamb steaks, sausages and chorizo, a lovely baked mash with a cheesy topping, carrots and spinach - it was delicious! He's quite an inventive cook & uses what he's got so some of his combinations tend towards the unusual but its always tasty & edible!
Cleaning the house on the agenda today & maybe a bit more baking this afternoon. Have a good day all x

Hello, been reading this thread for a couple of weeks and found it quite inspiring. I've finally got round to listing a few bits on eBay (and I'm sure I could find some more things to part with, but will see how I get with these first).

I 'mended' the vacuum cleaner (well, took it apart and gave it a good clean) this week, so it's picking up better than it has for a while. Has to be one of my least favourite jobs to do, glad it's done now though. I also scrubbed down my son's slide which was covered in mud, leaves and bird poo after spending the winter tucked behind the shed, so he can enjoy it again.

We had a leg of lamb lurking in the freezer (bought when it was reduced at the supermarket), so had a roast dinner on Sunday, curry on Monday and a Morrocan-style coucous dish with it last night. It was delicious!
