Evening everyone, I did some more knitting and then about 11 ish we went shopping because we'd not been for almost 2 weeks and I'd got a £8 voucher which expires on Saturday and the weather forecast is bad for the weekend. I chose this time because the last time I'd been shopping on Thurdays at this time I'd had some good YS. Well I managed again at MrT's I got finest Aberdeen Angus minced steak 500g reduced from £4 to £1.64 x6 I got DGS a free pasta meal with a voucher there's no way it's worth £2.30 but free thank you very much. Then onto Sainbobs and got Butchers Choice Cumberland sausage which must be on special £1 reduced to 69p 8 links per pack x3. I also noticed that Basic lasagne sheets 500g was reduced to 18p and they had loads so I got 18, we will have 6 each DD and DS they've got Dec 2017 BBD on. I also got a wholemeal loaf for 19p and hotcross buns pack of 6 reduced from 80p to 19p x2. I've split the mince and sausage up and it's in the freezer.
So I've not minimised anything today just added to the freezer and cupboards. We are lucky with in 6 miles I can do a circle and visit Sainsbobs MrT MrM Asder Aldee and Farmfoods and Heronfoods and Jack Fulton.
I may have minimised my spending with YS stuff lol
Why pay full price when you may get it YS ;)

Well, a client cancelled for this afternoon. i was unprepared for this and could have: made caramalised onion chutney; weeded the garden; started another book; done a PPI reclaim; filed my nails (nearly too long to type!); lined the staircase ready to start painting; had another go thro clothes/books for the CS; had another go at getting Pay P!l to recognise my bank account so I can flog some stuff on lline; plus loads of other stuff that must need doing!! Did I do any of it??? Did I Hades!!

Cross with myself  Is there anyone worse to be cross with??? You cant walk away from you!!!! Spent time instead looking for other Cornwall houses on line - already got three booked to see - cross all fingers that one is suitable - am goin down to see them and stay with my fab friend next weekend - i cant wait!!! But tomorrow have amedical appointment that Im not looking forward to and I suspect that was what was at the back of my mind. Feel its gonna be an uncomfortable procedure :(

Interesting that several of you feel the same way about owing people monies/having to ask for them.
Made do today with the last of the YS brie and YS Pumpernickel loaf loaf for lunch- yum yum
mend - repaired hole in the socks I pulled out to put on this AM and then wore them today
minimised - petrol expenditure due to cancellation and did not spend expenses budget as when I got to the usual Thursday meet at W!Spoons only 2 of the crowd were there and they had finished their meal - so came home and had HM burgers from freezer! Yum! Also thereby minimising freezer!
Onwards and upwards tomorrow folks!! :A

Thanks Celtic Moon The storage radiators are fastened to the wall so no reflective panels. I am doing the washing at night. DS does not like casseroles, and neither of us is too keen on food cooked in the slow cooker.

Hot water is on economy 7 but we have a huge hot water tank would fill three or four baths yet we don't have a bath. Not much use as once you have washed your hands once there is just a tank full of tepid water. Having to use kettles for washing up.

I think I will have to buy an oil filled radiator. According to ML that would be most efficient.

Watched a DVD that wasn't very good last night do that's going in the CS bag.
Knitted another 2 little hats for local scbu, will have a sewing up session over the weekend.
Did sausage mushroom and leek pie last night so managed to use up some YS sausages that were veggie but not vegan. Aging the lindamc ones for when vegan DD is round over weekend.

Need to minimise the weeds in the front garden soon but busy working and weather is too pants to get out there when I'm free.

    Have a good day all.

  • Morning all,

Pleasant screen free night last night. We had HM mac and cheese with broccoli and a salad for tea and then OH did some reading and I worked on my knitting and we listened to some music. I always start to feel sleepy a bit earlier, and feel a bit more relaxed the next day! I've also finished all of my cardigan parts. I'll get them blocked this weekend and then I need to sew up a couple of seams and then there is a very long sequence of picking up, making the neck band and the button band. I've definitely learned a lot of in this process and feel much more confident in my knitting--not quite sure I'm going to love the fit of the cardigan, but we'll see once I get it put together.

I went to the gym yesterday, but might go again today. I also have to go into work for a bit, so I don't expect to get much done today. Still, leftover salad and mac and cheese for lunch and will make a mental list of things to do this weekend while I'm on the bus.

    Morning all

Absolutely horrible here this morning so think I will be getting the bus to work - usually walk but don't want to arrive at work soaking. Since I'm on the middle shift at work, I'll get my lunch and tea there which is great for my food budget.

My bread didn't turn out so well yesterday - it's edible but a lot stodgier than usual and with a lot of holes. Anybody have an idea of where I went wrong? I'm thinking that because I made it in the morning, the kitchen maybe wasn't warm enough for the bread to prove properly - not sure though.

I had a look through the kitchen cupboards last night and found a heap of different fruit and herbal teas which I used to drink lots of but haven't for a while. So I've decided to start minimising them, had one before bed last night.

OH was having a moan about the DVDs last night so we've agreed we'll go through them tomorrow. OH is also trying to persuade me to go through my books at the same time but we'll see.

The weather is bad here too not rain but very very windy, had to take DGS to nursery again in the car. So today will be another knitting day after I've put the Hoover over the carpets and flicked a duster around for DD. No washing to do for her as she's up to date with it. I've already got tea for when we get home, it's bubble and squeak for the extras I did yesterday. Just enjoying a coffee and toasted hotcross bun which was bought YS yesterday DH is having 2 and it's just the 1 for me, so there's still 3 for tomorrow. The other pack us in the freezer for another weeks treat.
    Enjoy your day everyone x

Hello everyone. Couldn't post yesterday as no WiFi.:o

The candles turned out well. My first attempt.:T
I managed to make 16 tea lights out of a piece of spent candle that would have been thrown away. I have lots more bits to melt, but I want a whole day to spend on the project.:j

I minimised my fabric and stuffing stash last night by making a draught excluded.
made do with the remainder of the veg, to make 3 portions of soup.
Haven't really mended anything, unless you count mending the draught from under the door!:rotfl:

Weather here has been awful - torrential rain and windy but not as bad as it is further north. Do hope everyone stays warm and safe.
Decided to have a baking day so a lasagna and 3 portions of bolognese n the freezer, 3 pints of mushroom soup and a Granny cake and a Ginger loaf done. I was going to try a new recipe for Thai style fishcakes done with sweet potato and tuna. Got the spuds peeled & boiled & found I've got no tuna! Not going out now to get some it will have to wait to tomorrow.
Just trying to decide what to have for tea :)
My only minimise was to stuff some more toilet roll tubes with paperwork for DH to use as firelighters! I may cull another file of paperwork if I can be arrised ;)

    What's a granny cake silva?
I did the food shopping today and worked my list around a few things in the freezer and cupboards so minimised my spends :). I've also only planned for cooking 6 dinners, the 7th day will be making do with pot luck leftovers that I'm keeping from the weeks meals. From today I have 2 adult cottage pie portions and one DGD portion that I've already put in the freezer to stop the endless pits eating it as soon as my backs turned.
I haven't mended anything today well not yet anyway.
