Iamsalt - Wisteria are beautiful thugs! They need pruning twice a year. I do mine at the end of the summer and in the early spring and give it a good feed with tomato fertiliser in the spring too so it gets lots of flowers.

Oh thanks Silvasava, mine hasn't flowered ever so I might try this

Spent today gluing the sole on some trainers, fitting the ball back on the swingball, re-attaching a derailleur to a bike, replacing the bolts on the toilet seat, pushing a screen back into an iphone.

4 kids!!!! They break stuff as quick as I fix it!

Made 5 dozen sausage rolls for DD's OH's 50th birthday party today, don't want to see another blessed sausage roll until Christmas :).

went to the party and ate more than enough nibbly bits and pieces (BBQ etc) so no need to cook tonight Will make do with some fruit if I feel peckish
No mending but a bit of knitting

Hi - not been on site for long time, now playing catch up - in answer to misstara who got bleach on her jeans -

Sorry hunny - not good news - I used to work in a craft shop, and this was one of the most asked questions - we checked with our Dylon rep and he told us no dye would work - it won't cover bleach because of the chemicals. Probably not what you wanted to hear !!! :(
When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on

  • My I suggest embracing the bleach mark, depending where the mark is, maybe make it into a flower with some more bleach, or add some stick on details and make it arty .

Hi everyone, I've been away from this site for a few months, I've read up on MMM, and I really need to get back into it.

    So
Mend.. I've fixed tHe front bumper of my car with Bright pink duck tape :rotfl:

Make do.. Eating out of the freezer .... Doing washing up... By hand :eek: lol cos I have no DW tablets lol

    Haven't minimised much ...

Page girl - you are right - even if you dye the item it will still show as a lighter patch :( I did manage once to match the blue with a marker pen! Not ideal but did minimise the effect somewhat.
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle
  • Hi!

Nursemaggie I am in a flat that was built with coal fires so we have a 'coal hole' cupboard on the landing (internal). It is a slightly cool and dark. I fill up my rice jar as and when and then fold over the top of the bag and peg with a washing line peg. Seems to work fine. @sd@ did have the 5kg and 10kg bags for £5 & £10 mark so not much more in cost but maybe a little easier to use for you? I only buy basmati rice as I find it the easiest to cook. If you are happy to use long grain then there are even more bargains to be had - hth!

    Take care of yourselves xxx

Thanks for the replies about my jeans pagangirl, cornishchick and silvasava. I was afraid that they couldn't be saved :( the bleach is on the lower leg so I'll make them into shorts.

celtic_moon I only buy basmati rice we prefer the flavour. I don't normally buy bigger than a 2kg bag because of storage. Mr M has the big bags all the time and they are on offer all through Ramadan. There are two a year you know.

I bought two tubs of chocolates for Christmas too. I also buy lots of stuff from KTC all year round.
