Make do, Mend and Minimise in 2016

Been making do all week here. I've been away for work twice this week and often I will buy a coffee here or 'treat' myself to lunch which I haven't done
I was in London on Monday for work and after my meeting I had an evening out. I had planned to go to London next week on my week off as I like to visit the British Library, have a meal out and go to a few of my favorite haunts once a year at least. I saved some money for me and my organisation by getting a later train home (rather than at 5ish) therefore having my time in London and freeing a day up next week (and eating pizza, one of my favourite things to do).
Soup and bread from the freezer for lunch today, rice and beans this evening and off in our camper van tomorrow!! Planned spends for the weekend: hopefully only a tenner for a few ingredients to make meals and some tonic water for the gin
Have a great day everyone.0 -
Spent the morning ironing and mending (DGS knitted patchwork blankey) all his bedding is now washed, ironed and put in the airing cupboard until he goes back to Uni in September.
had a late lunch of a large corned beef salad and so I won't bother to cook tonight I have some Boursin cheese that's just crying out for crackers in the fridge along with some black grapes so that's me sorted ,feet up, film on, and knitting in hand. I know how to enjoy myself .I'm not a footie fan so I have some decent movies on my TiVo box to watch and if nothing catches my eye I also have netflix at a push
Have a good evening chums

. It lets me do my own thing, which I prefer.

4 more items minimised on eb@y last night, another 3 listed this morning.
My mend list keeps growing.
I need to start making do a bit more, too much last minute, convenient cooking happening as we are so busy fixing up new house.
It should be another busy day.
Have a great MMM day everyone🎄PAYDBXMAS21 #11 £11,300/£11300

A bit of a forced MMM day here yesterday. I've had an abscess flare up under a double crown for the 4th time  I thought from the start that my dentist had bodged the work - thankfully I have a new dentist and once the infection has gone she will sort it out (root canal for one tooth and extraction for the other
)
Make do: So supper was potato wedges with a rather old packet of curry sauce for chips mix that I've carried around for ever. Will use the remaining sauce with some cooked chicken I have in the freezer so that will make do and minimise some of the freezer as well.
Mend: Me hopefully once the antibiotics kick in.
Minimise: Me again as I certainly can't eat much without chewing :rotfl: mind you I can drink an awful lot of tea!
Welcome to all newbies and hi :hello: to everyone, I hope all is well with you all.Aiming for a Champagne Lifestyle on a Lemonade Budget

Going to have a root around the freezer for some chicken breasts as I found a jar of weight watchers chicken tikka sauce in the cupboard which is still in date
:):) no idea where it came from though.I have about half a box of mushrooms in the fridge so may bulk it up with a tin of chopped tomatoes ,some mushrooms and diced onions and batch cook some curry for the freezer. Should get several portions out of it
I love discovering bits in the cupboard like that I have a feeling the jar came back from last years holiday box which I had built up for our self-catering holiday.
I feel sure there are some chicken breasts at the bottom of the freezer so it will be good to use those up.
No mending to do today ,did it yesterday.
Hope you all have a good day

dND hope the abscess is sorted soon and you aren't in so much pain.
Minimised 20 big bags of paper and card recycling this morning from the attic. It felt so good watching them get thrown into the cart
We helped dd2 move hous last week and she needed a set of bunks to replace a metal roll under pair of beds she had for her step children and she had a spare wooden single bed so we swapped her for the bottom bunk ds2 sleeps in plus the top bunk ladder and safety rails that were stored in the attic. Plus her metal bed got put out and taken by the scrap man within about 10 mins of going outside. While I was in our attic getting her the bunk bed bits down I lugged down the waterbed frame from the bed we'd had 30 years ago, some of the timber has been stored for repurpose but the huge great draylon covered headboard is going to the recycling tip.
So a decent bit of minimising there for both of us as excess beds have left both houses.
Got another hedgehog on May knitting needles so that's my making, and will be using up something from the fridge and cupboards for tea so that's my making do.SPC~12 ot 124

Thanks Mrs-Moneypenny, antibiotics are beginning to kick in and painkillers are lasting 6 hours rather than the 2.5 they were before :j
Not got much done over the last couple of days though, it's amazing how even a niggling pain can disrupt you when it's continual.
Today is a gite cleaning day (my summer employment), therefore I won't get much done at home today either so I will be making do with whatever is easy to cook from the fridge or freezer- may even treat myself to a glass of sangria with supper and pretend it's summer!

Was very idle last night ,sat and read a book all evening,TV didn't go on because I was engrossed in my book It can go back to the library this morning
Today I shall make a sponge cake for DD for tomorrow and also knit up part of the boarder on my charity blanket before going to a coffee morning at 11.30.
Tonight I am at a Charity Quiz night which will be fun. I had some left over mash which I topped a portion of minced beef from the freezer with. Voilaone sheps pie done and dusted for lunch with some garden peas and carrots from the freezer.Shan't cook tonight as I am going out so will just have a snack of perhaps some cheese and crackers before I go.
Slowly minimising my food stocks and making do with whats in store and staying away from the shops
Have a good day everyone
