Minimising-had a good tidy up of my jumper drawers and got one thing for the CS, three jumpers for the recycling. Tried on some old trousers and can fit into them now-yay!
Make do-got so much frozen meat etc (all at cheap price obviously! ) we'll have some of that for dinner later.
Mending- now here's a thing. In an unaccustomed moment, I decided to alter the neckline on a dress I've got, in preparation for my holiday. It's got one of those cowl neck/floppy necklines, which look great if you have the chest to fill it (Think my chest minimised itself when I was 12, never grown since. Sigh )Anyway, whilst I'm in the sewing mood I thought I'd sew a button on my coat pocket that fell off ages ago. I kept that button for years in a pot on the window but we've moved house since. I've just spent ages playing "where the hell is that button? ", on a mission now to sort that button out now! Went to check my coat to see if there is a spare button, and there's no button missing! Either I've got a button fairy or I'm getting old and forgetful! Discuss. Lol.
    Happy bank holiday weekend everyone.

It must be a previous coat CathA. I have done that before. I tend to do that with buttons, screws and strange things I don't know where they came from. I always pack said pots with their contents. I think I will go through all of mine and throw out what I no longer need. I tend to also keep spare buttons in top drawer of chest of drawers years after I got rid of the garment.

No it was definitely that coat. It's a red one, the only one I've got and I know the button was sat happily in the window for years. I must have sewn it back on in a previous life but I'm bummed if I can remember doing it! On the bright side my dress is done, no longer a gaping neckline and it looks ok, gotta try it on tomorrow.

Hi to pinkypig and Elizabeth :)

Minimised my ironing pile tonight plus did a bit of cleaning. Made spaghetti bolognese for tea which used up some mushrooms that were a bit past it and made some garlic bread from the end of a YS loaf.

    Morning mmmers
Hope everyone had a good extended weekend.

Made a raised bed for the garden from a couple of scaffold planks that were in mils garage (left from late fils painting career) nice to use them as he loved gardening and they have little signs of him on like paint splatter and brush marks so will eventually be planting them up with some of his fave flowers-giant poppies and forget me nots)
Minimised some junk and clutter when we moved some furniture round in a couple of rooms.
An old computer desk from the shed got part used as shelving and the rest will go in the wood skip at DHs workplace.

Plan to make another role play cape from some spare fabric today and I have promised a friend I will do some adjustments on his market stall canvas. So that will be today's mending/ making if I get time for it.

    Have a good day all

    Hi MMMers,

Have been scan reading the posts but not had time to post (or much to post about) - work has been manic.

That sounds like a lovely reuse of the scaffold boards Mrs Moneypenny - I think late FIL would approve!

Yesterday we minimised two wheels with newish tyres on and two seats from a classic Mini - both sold on Ebay and very pleased to have the cash and space back!

We made do with tortilla wraps - had bought more bread flour when we popped out, but forgot to buy yeast (and although the current tin is in date and only recently opened the yeast has clearly had it). So, instead of a loaf I made wraps instead. This will also help to use up the lettuce that's in the fridge - don't ask why, but lettuce seems much more appealing in a wrap than a sandwich!.

Not much on the mending front - we've started putting panes of glass back in the second door... it's a slow process because DH hates the hammering so close to the glass! (And I don't trust my fine motor skills!). Also mowed the lawn quickly before the rain yesterday, which was very satisfying!

    Pinkypig I freeze YS milk

What's YS, please? I'm assuming it has something to do with bargain price.

:p Excuse my ignorance - you'll get used to it!!!

Cut and hemmed friends market stall awning cover, it is huge! Managed to fold the two pieces I've cut off and hemme for the sides but the main piece is too big to manage folding alone so Dh will have to help me fold that tonight, it's curtly piled up on the settee.

Got to nip on pintrest now and see if I can find the cape pattern I used last time. I may be some time.

Finally managed to do some mending last night: one pair of black fleece girl's leggings, and removing the decoration from a nice sweater's sleeves. The bottoms of the sleeves (at the wrist) were decorated with clear sequins, and they were falling off, breaking, showing threads. It looks better as a plain sweater.
