What a cheerful post HOWMUCH. You made my birthday, welcome to little Harry.

Signing up again did not work and neither did my post. I only use a PC so not accidentally unsubscribing. I post a couple of hours ago but it has disappeared.

Third time lucky I got the notice for your post HOWMUCH.

    Hi MMMers,

Have had a busy weekend and minimised a few bits - dress sold on Ebay, couple of other (big) bits listed, so will be glad of space when they've gone.

On mending front, the doors in our hall progressed at the weekend, except we managed to break another pane - have found a glazier nearby who should be able to do replacements fortunately.

No making do to speak of.

    Have a good evening!

Mended a bag, one of those you fold up and poke into a little pouch; only trouble was it then fell out the hole on other side of the pouch! Sorted now.

Took two loads of stuff to the tip.

OH minimised part of a wall with a hammer, intentionally though!! We're onbto renovating the lounge now, so back to living in a building site and picking plaster out of my hair-yay!

    Evening, looking quiet here.

Busy working day today and again tomorrow , but managed to produce a quiche and biscuits for a work event tomorrow from stores in the house. All I need to do is transport it on the train!

I minimised an old smelly pair of trainers yesterday which was a bit of a relief!
Mending - not the usual mending but a big hug and a long chat with mum helped to mend her emotions a bit, and show her that she has support.

Made do with one egg and a splash of milk instead of two eggs when making a large meatloaf. It held together.

Mended a leaky water wonder hose by buying a washer to replace the disintegrating one in the wand. DH wanted to buy a new wonder wand but I sent him to the hardware store to have it fitted for a washer.

Minimized some old crackers into cracker crumbs that went into the above meatloaf. They tasted fine.
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

  • Morning all.
Did anyone listen to You and Yours on BBC R4 yesterday? It was asking what we had learnt from the Queen during her reign (or something like that). There were a few contributors who talked about how people used to make do and mend and how we could learn from this attitude today. Thrift was mentioned as well. It made me think of everyone here and wondered if anyone had phoned in and contributed. I didn't hear it all as I was driving about helping DD2's boyfriend move into his new flat but might see if it is on BBC iplayer.

Minimised: the weather is lovely here today so lots of washing out on the line not in the tumbler dryer. We use it less and less these days especially since I bought a heated rail a couple of years ago. I'm helping said boyfriend to find a cheap broadband deal and car insurance today.
