    Morning all

Not much planned for today except some batch cooking to stick in the freezer, am making beef stew, chilli mince and chicken curry. There's a neep and some carrots that are looking a bit sorry so plan to mash them up together and then freeze as well. There were also some strawberries that were a little past it so I've eaten those for breakfast.

Hope everyone has a good day :D

  • Morning all.
All the stories about costumes for school plays has made me laugh.
Make do: We had roast lamb on Sunday so I used up the leftover lamb to make biryani and used up some bits of veg to make an accompanying veg curry sauce.
Minimise: going into the garage today:eek: so I may be some time. I've loads of stuff to take to the tip and as we are decluttering the house we need to make some space. What I really need are some boxes so that I can sort stuff into tip/carboot/charity shop.
    No mending.
    Have a good day everyone.

Make-do: Eating weekend leftovers today - tray roasting carrots, onions parsnips and potatoes for tea tonight

Minimise: Have used 8lb of last summers HG blackcurrants from the freezer to make another batch of HM Crème de Cassis. Bottled the last batch too - just need to print some labels to stick on and they will be ready for HM Christmas Hampers (Apologies for early use of the C-word!). The raspberry canes are just breaking bud so planning to do some HM Raspberry Jam if we get a decent crop.
Still clearing the clutter - doing some of the sentimental items at the moment so progress is a little slow but getting there.

Mending: Going to alter three tops tonight - from 'bracelet' length to short sleeved as the in-between arm length drives me crazy and (flushed with my success in altering my work polo shirts!) will be making vents in the side so they accommodate my posterior better

Another wet, blustery day here so that's the window washing off the schedule but plenty to do inside :) Its back to work tomorrow so want to get as much done as I can today.

Have a lovely day folks :):):):):):):)

    Hello MMMers,

Make Do: using up food from fridge & freezer. Defrosted a box of oxtail casserole, had two meals so far with spring greens and roast sliced sweet potatoes.

Mend: I had a mishap with milk boiling over. Some had run down between the inner & outer panes of the oven door. It wasn't easy, but I've dismantled the door, cleaned the glass and reassembled the door. I use a Remoska so have used the oven once in 4 years!

Minimise: two bags of assorted bits & pieces are ready for the CS. Also, I've sent 5 boxes of books, CDs and DVDs to Ziffit during March. It's an excellent service for people like myself who don't have a handy post office for e.g. selling on Amazon.

Minimised a dozen wine glasses to the local CS, before Monna says anything, I drink my wine straight from the bottle!

I once painted a Matey bottle (bubble bath for kids, funny shaped bottle) gold and stuck fruit gums to it (it was for one of the 3 wise men to carry at playgroup nativity) said wise man had picked off and eaten all the fruit gums by the end of the play.

Sill feeling really bleugh with this cold & fed up coughing day and night- its exhausting!! Managed to return my clock radio for a refund as the hour button wouldn't work when the clocks went forward. Did a small amount of necessary shopping & collapsed on the sofa when I got home - I thought a bit of fresh air would do me good lol. Just minimised a nice beef casserole I had in the freezer. I keep thinking I hav'n't shut the freezer door properly as it opens and shuts so easily now its been defrosted ;)

    Hello MMMer's
I'm dog sitting at the moment whilst DD and DGS have gone to lanzarote on their Easter holiday, so plenty of walkies its future SIL dog so she's only know us 2 years but settles great I think we've had her most of this year so far.
Make do - a friend offered me her small under the counter freezer she only bought it in August last and decided she needs a larger one. Do you want it for £30 she said I know you was on about getting one? So I thought about it and what the hect go on then was my reply. Not sure if I'll put it in the pantry or garage.
Mend - knitted another baby cardi just needs sewing up which will be tomorrow job.
Minimise - getting my Hermes to come and collect a parcel to go to a friend of my DD from her Uni days. She's just had a baby girl and a crockpot and clothes are going her way. DD said the SC was one of the best things I bought her when she have DGS.
Hugs to those that need one and I think there's a few today x
Why pay full price when you may get it YS ;)

Never imagined you drank out of anything else Hester. I always pictured you drinking wine out of the bottle. With a straw. With little finger elegantly crooked. Wearing your PVC Mac.

In the days when I organised Nativity Plays we had the son of the local (though very posh) pub owner. That year Joseph appeared in a dressing gown made out of beer towels and advertising various alcoholic beverages.

I'm right off the subject again. (Hitches sackcloth over shoulder and rubs in another handful of ashes.)

Not a lot of MM&M going on here, only a tiny seam that had come away on my 'posh' coat, so it got mended the other day.
Silvasava, I had the bug you seem to have now, and the coughing was keeping me from sleeping too. I found one co-codamol at bedtime helped me stop coughing enough to get to sleep for a few hours. I was told by a nurse that codeine is a cough suppressant, but don't take too many, because they bung you up! ;)

Just noticed the time hasn't caught up yet. It's actually 10.56 now, so need to get to bed.

  • Hiya All

Well new/old car had engine management light come on - took it back to my mate who runs a garage (who gets me and vets for me the cars) He checked it over very carefully and got new sparks plug on it and only charged me £15 for the plugs and said that he would not charge me for his hrs he spent giving it a real check over (with posh computer thingy etc) bless him! It would have cost me loads for a senior mechanic's time otherwise!! :A

Silva - dont pver push yourself - that cold is a swine! I must admit to a tot of brandy to knock me out to give me some sleep at night when I had it!! Make sure your family help out too!

Make do today - had a yen for chocolate so made some cupcakes and chocolate frosting - not good for me but still cheaper and I only made 12 - my walking friend will be over tomorrow and I will donate several to them!!

Mend - flippin icing bag seam ooozed - so that was a rubbish purchase!!! No mending it but made my own out of greaseproof paper

Minimise (well certainly not me after the cupcakes!!!) Have added cash to my bank balance so that has minimised the OD. Should be clear again by the end of April - assuming no more disasters!!!

BTW did anyone see either of these great programes - the Creme De la Creme Bake Off programe (yep thats what set me off on the cupcakes - were they as elegant - of course not!!) I used to be able to that type of thing and I realised how much I missed it!!

Then the programe on automita on BBC4!!! Incredible - more than I ever realised - totally fascinating - how much it has influenced our modern lives - give it a go on the I player folks!! Great, informative hour of entertainment! :)

((Hugs)) to those who have the cold flu type thing
