Is 40 inch to small for 4K TV?

Why would you not buy it when you know that shortly all tv's will be uhd? It's not costing you any extra so go for it- your future proof (till 8k comes out shortly).0

I probably will buy a 40 inch 4K TV and I'm thinking about the Samsung UE40JU6400 from John Lewis at £500 (love his 5 year guarantee). One of the things holding me back from buying this model is the lack of a scart lead. Although I do appreciate they are on their way out.
The reason for asking the question in the first place was to gather whether or not a 40 inch screen, 42 at the outside, was to gather opinions as to whether a 40 inch TV, 42 at the most, would do any kind of justice to a 4K picture.
At the moment I'm thinking future proof, Netflix, and a few good Wild Life DVD's0 -
As you've been advised, it depends on your viewing distance. Sony have a 4K screen on a mobile phone. Is that screen too small?!The reason for asking the question in the first place was to gather whether or not a 40 inch screen, 42 at the outside, was to gather opinions as to whether a 40 inch TV, 42 at the most, would do any kind of justice to a 4K picture.
Do you notice the difference between HD and SD on your current TV? If not, you mightn't notice 4K quality. There's barely any 4K content around anyway, so you'll be waiting a while to find out!0 -
If you are still using SCART connected devices, I'd say your access to any 4K content will be EXTREMELY limited! You really need to be upgrading to HDMI connected decoders/players otherwise you won't even be viewing in HD.thehorselady wrote: »I probably will buy a 40 inch 4K TV and I'm thinking about the Samsung UE40JU6400 from John Lewis at £500 (love his 5 year guarantee). Just to reiterate above - Why do you need a SCART connection? And can you see the difference between SD & HD on your current TV?0

For a smart TV it looks pretty poor. No ITV Player, ALL4 or Demand5.0
