Well done for reaching 10% payoff! :)

Thank you, it's like I got my mojo back :)

Frugalness today was feeding the Sainsbobs self check out with shrapnel, much to the annoyance of the large queue behind me, and then paying the £5 saved into my CC account :A

I have a job interview, for the fat salary, not the ludicrous salary :T

Hotel tonight, so subsistence all paid for and £81.50 fuel expenses to claim.

Being audited tomorrow at work - boo :( it's usually the other way round.

Night night all, thank you for reading xx

Haha! I stood at Tesc0 the other day with £20+ pound in 20p and less coins feeding them in :D - and then made a rounded up OP to the mortgage as a result :) Don't understand why anyone would pay C0inst*r 9% or whatever it is to count their money?!

I went shopping at the weekend and bought some new running shoes, so expensive I can't tell you. But I've been running and they do feel much better. I had them properly fitted as I get sore knees, you can't put a price on health I say!
£72.50 refund from brit gas, paid off the CC.
Bloomin expenses didn't arrive yet again, lost in the system apparently
This week I'm away most of it so hotels and subsistence, plus milage (when I get it!)
    Not much else to report

My absolute favorite time of the month. Direct debits going out, and overpayments made, so I can update my signature.
My daily interest rate has dropped 5p per day again, saving another £18.25 a year. 15 years and 3 months to go…
This morning I transfer £569 from the offset to the mortgage account, a satisfying over payment, and bringing me closer to the hundred and teens, which feels decidedly smaller than the £130+ that it was when I started this diary.
I had a scout round the charity shops this morning, and found a pair of next long trousers, perfect fit for work £4 and a chick flick for my holiday – yes holiday. It’s a girly holiday, we’re going horse riding in andalucia, not a cheap holiday, but saved up and paid for in advance, and the spending money is sat in it’s ‘holiday’ pot waiting to be spent. We didn’t realise when we booked it, the flights were included, that is was hand luggage only, and we have to take our own riding gear. So if you see a group of women at the airport 6am Monday morning with carry on luggage only, wearing all their riding gear, hats and all, that’ll be us!!
Right I’m off to polish my boots and have a practise pack

A quick round up before holibobs. I forgot to tell you about my job interview, not that there's much to tell, but it seemed to go ok, I should hear something next week.

When I get back hopefully there will be 2 lots of expense in my account - £700. All to go on CC or mortgage, not decided yet.

Applied for an M&S CC, as if you spend £100, you get £50 M&S vouchers, which I thought would make a nice xmas pressie for someone. I am now frugal enough to pay off the £100 and then shred it

I found a pair of croc sandals in the sale today for £10, so bought those, they're strappy with a nice silver decoration on the front so should do for the pool and night time. My case is packed (excellent charity shop bargain at £1, the handles a bit dodgy but I can live with it!), and only at 8kg (limit 10kg), so I'm looking round to see what else I can take!

Have a lovely frugal week peeps xx

    Have a lovely holiday. :)
Thank you, we had a lovely holiday, lots of laughs, and I stayed within my budget :T
I heard back re the job, and I didn't get it :( but I do have another interview for another on 22nd, so fingers crossed for that.

Guess what, expenses never arrived  really not impressed, I'm thinking of putting in an official complaint, I'm not really sure where I stand with it all, but surely they can't expect me to fund all this company travel, with no gaurentee when I'll get it back.

Have been accepted for the M&S CC, hae sent all paper work back, and will awaite said card, spend £100, pay it back, then claim my £50 voucher.

New croc sandals were a brilliant buy, will only ever need to take 1 paid of sandals on holiday now.

I've done a sweep of accounts, including emptying my emergency fund and have transfered £807 to offset acc, still have around £1000 in savings pots, so in the black. If expenses had been paid would have been another £700

Have listed some stuff on FB, and lady picking something up later, no luck on fleabay, will have to relist.

DS goes back to college tomorrow, so sitting down later and talking about the fiances, as he's going to have a shock after woring full time!
DD hates new job in A&E, and is looking for something else, has 2 applications in, still within NHS. She want to specialise in adult learning dissabilites, back to what she did before, finds so much job satisfaction in it, much more than most of the people who come through A&E.....Man comes in with head ache

"What have you taken for it?"
    "Nothing"
    "Why?"
"I don't usally get them" Really!!!!!!!!

So better get on with my 'list for today'

Hope you all had a productive week xx

  • I’m not sure if I mentioned before, but I started the coach to 5k in March, it should take 9 weeks, and by last week I managed to get to week 8 yay!! Then I went and did a park run, managed the whole 5k in 42 minutes and came 500 out of 509. As a reward I’ve bought some new running leggings (out of my clothes budget) from Tesc@. Now I need to get faster, my reward for getting to 5k in 30 minutes is a download of Springsteen’s greatest hits to run to.

I met my new boss this week, who is really nice, and had a go at accounts for all my delayed expense payments, so hopefully they will now be paid on Friday. That’ll take my ‘Pay off credit card pot’ to nearly £2000. I’m putting it all in my offset account, and will pay off the CC in 11 months, there’s no point in paying it off the CC now as it’s interest free. I will be much more disciplined this time, rather than saving up a big stash then spending it on home improvements!

Both my kids are now considering Uni, which was just not on the cards 12 months ago, or even last month, wow, I can’t help thinking how much that’s going to cost me lol.

I’ve been working very hard on the youtube channel, and income has gone way up, so all being reinvested in more content, also having a new website built for my part time income, so lots going on for my retirement fund :T

  • Sorry for 2 consecutive posts. But I just realised that my daily interest rate has dropped from £9.13 £6.58 since I started this diary January 2016, a saving of £2.55 a day … £930 a year. Wow, this is from re-mortgaging, overpaying and using my offset account. It just shows all those little actions make big impacts overall, even if one's eye has been off the ball!
