I am well aware of that but in 1959 when the mini was launched you can bet your life that 99% of all cars on british roads were rear wheel drive
the mini is the car that made a transverse engine and front wheel drive a popular option
Citroen beat them to it with a popular front wheel drive car.0 -
however i had a racing bike with no tred
(it was made like that)
If you mean a racing bicycle, then the laws of physics apply there as much as anywhere else. Bicycle tyres will aquaplane if you hit water at sufficient speed. Thing is, according to the calculations (which I don't fully understand, but relate to tread area and weight) the lowest speed a bicycle tyre will aquaplane is about 200 mph. Seriously, the tread on a car tyre is there to channel the water away so that the rubber can grip the road. With a 25 mm bicycle tyre, the tread area is so narrow there is no need.JayCartwright wrote: »Citroen beat them to it with a popular front wheel drive car.
The beautiful 'Traction Avant', hero (or should that be heroine?) of many Maigret films. Lovely car.If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0 -
Mine are on

Basing my decision on my own observations of over 50 years, rather than the unreliable nonsense spouted by "Weather Forecasters", it isn't until January/February that we get the severe weather anyway.
I'm certainly not going to try fitting them in 3" of snow, so they are on now.;)
Second greatest 3 word phrase in the English Language.
