  • Happy Birthday JackieO - seems wrong for you to have to be cleaning/baking in prep for your own birthday! Hope you have a lovely time with your family.

Ricarda - well done on the curtains!

My complaint to asda re sexist pricing has paid off, literally, as yesterday i received a £5 gift card from them (marvelous as the pricing only meant I was out of pocket by £1.50), so am well pleased. And apparently sexist pricing is more widespread than I thought and has even been debated in parliament recently, so hopefully this means it will come to an end at some point as everyone realises it's illegal.

In addition to the £5 I now have to spend at A's, I also have £4 worth of free food from T's as part of their orchard product testing scheme (but will have to review the products after) and a random voucher through the post for free box of chocs from S's, valentine promotion I think. I now just have the logistical nightmare of working out how to get to each SM within the allotted voucher deadlines, without going so far out of my way as to be wasting petrol, and all fitted in around my packed working day/school run schedule!!! This is why I often end up not 'spending' my freebie coupons, as I just can't get to the right shop in time.

Def a NBI day today as am in bed with a cold - turned down a night out last night too as felt terrible and went to bed with ibuprofen and chamomile tea at 8pm. Cats have disturbed my sleep by pouncing on my face, licking my nose and knocking stuff over since about 4 am, so need a rest now!

Not posted for a while, but trying to keep expenditure under control. Had my car serviced and MOT'd last week, and cost me just over £11 (I pay for the MOT and service monthly).

I did have quite a big spend yesterday - I went to a craft exhibition and bought a stash of wool, fabric and card making supplies. I did not feel too bad though as all the money I spent had been put away for this event - some overtime from November, some money earned from online surveys, and some more money from cashing in some change from my change jar. The exhibition will be back again in about 6 months time so I better start saving again!

Just spent a few £s in Mr T as making a lasagne tonight so needed some veg and milk. Hoping this week will be a cheap one - I think the only spends will be on bus fare (which I see as a necessity) for work. Roll on the better weather so I can start cycling again!

Off to make a coffee, then have ironing to do, clean the bathroom, and make a Valentine card for OH and a birthday card for my manager.

    Have a good day everyone!

    Happy birthday JackieO

After a few spending days on clothes which fit in with my capsule wardrobe, I was good today. Brief call into Mr M this morning and bought the 3 items on list only - batteries, yeast and promised gift for GS6.

:) Hapy birthday, Jackie0, and hello and welcome to girlybags.

I've spent a total of £1.50 thus far this weekend, on a basket of all things. Was near a Liddly this morning and would have normally popped in for a few bits then decided not to.

Because it's never just a few bits, is it? And the queues in there are long on a Sunday, and the sun was shining, and I simply couldn't be arrissed.

Will be having an earl bath, washing clothes, shoving a vac around, doing a few bits and pieces and making a meal for supper out of what I already have on the premises, some of which I grew myself.

    I love not shopping........... :rotfl:
