I was talking to a colleague at work yesterday about my stash and the fact I've put myself of a buying ban and she couldn't seem to get her head around the fact that I have about 9 shower gels and multiple sets of shampoo and conditioner. She will have 1 spare thing for what she uses and that's it.
Made me realise how ridiculous my hoarding of toiletries is, I really do not need as much as I have! Even more determinded now to get through some of my stash!

My aunt is like that. She only has one back-up of toiletries and she just has one make-up bag of cosmetics and one of nail varnish. Yet she looks far more glamorous and polished than many people I know who have cupboards full of products! I really like the fact that when she buys a new product she can start using and enjoying it immediately. I feel guilty if I do that because I know there are older products in the cupboards that I really need to use first.

I’d love to be like that – my bathroom would be so much cleaner and less cluttered, and getting ready would just be easier. I’ve a long way to go though… Fortunately everything fits in my bathroom cupboard (or out on the main shelf) at the minute, but only just – and it’s a big cupboard! I think it’s possible by the end of the year, if I’m really disciplined, and keep using things :P
  • Another couple of UUs
Bumble and Bumble Invisible Oil Shampoo mini 60ml
Bumble and Bumble Invisible Oil Conditioner Sachet x 2
    Kiehls Ultra Facial Moisturiser 30ml

I love the BB invisible oil but hated that shampoo/conditioner, it made my hair feel very greasy like I hadn't bothered to wash it at all. Definitely wouldn't buy any and will be passing on any further samples I get of that one.

Love the Kiehls, WDBA but already have a few of these left in the stash to use, plus a very big pot of the cream, plus a lot of others to get through before I can buy any more!

I've been busy planning my PP list for February!

Next I'm going to go and paint my nails :)

Gemzie you sound very determined, I'm sure you can achieve all your goals, especially with the help of all the wonderful ladies in this group. Online shopping and watching youtube is what catches me out and causes me to constantly be parting with my cash! I think I will join you in reducing my spending online :)

My worst categories are cleansers and body lotion. I have tons of each, I reckon I've easily got a years worth of both. I just seem to go through cleansers so slowly, my skin can feel quite tight if I use too much, and I often forget to use body lotion. I can at least try to rectify that! My Tata Harper goodies have also not helped my cleanser problem :rotfl::rotfl:

Hermia - your aunt is normal and we aren't. I think those of us that watch Youtube have become conditioned to thinking excessive amounts of stuff are not excessive. Recently I have been watching Project 333 videos (capsule wardrobes) and minimalist/capsule makeup collections - I especially love watching My Green Closet.

I completely agree. I stopped watching the beauty 'gurus' about a year ago because I realised that (i) so many of their reviews are rubbish and biased and (ii) it was giving me a completely inaccurate view of what a normal amount of clothes/cosmetics is. I now just watch the minimalist/decluttering/capsule wardrobe channels.
