No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries January 2016

Not sure if I will manage anymore UU's this month now, though have a couple of splutterers that should help me get off to a good start in February
I keep putting off doing an inventory of all my make up and I know I'm doing it on purpose because I don't want to see the quantities in black and white on a spreadsheet :eek: I MUST do it though, I need a reality check that I don't NEED anymore make up. My draws are starting to get realllllly full!0 -
Hi all,
Three UUs today:
B&BW Winter Wonderland Pocket Bac: This smelled incredible! WDBA!
Calven Klien Reveal Body Lotion 100ml: This sank in well and had a very heavy scent. WNBA as I usually buy body lotions from stores rather than with a perfume set. Got another in the stash to use up.
Boots Natural Collection Coral Shimmer Moisture Shine Lipstick: As many of you may know, I don't wear make up (other than the odd brush of powder to an event). I found this lying around from my wedding day two years ago so probably needs to be thrown away but it's a nice 'your lips but better' shade of nude/pink with a touch of gold running through it. Would recommend to anyone looking for a everyday kind of lipstick but I WNBA.
And one TA:
B&BW New York Pocket Bac: A friend bought me this one and it leaked when I first got it. I left it in my stash and brought it out now to UU but it smells awful - a bit like cigarette smoke! Might just be because it was open but WNBA!0 -
another two UU for me
Sure Deoderant White Linen and Boots Smooth Care Hair Removal Cream. The hair removal cream is one of my PP for spring. Just got a small amount of another tube and a can of shaving gel to go and that will be that catergory done.

Fixx I am not sure to be honest. theres no flame or anything. We always switch ours off but we switch everything off at night to save electricity. I'd be more wary of leaving it on if you have pets as hot wax getting knocked everywhere wouldn't be a good idea.No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2015/2016/2017/2018

No more UUS to report but you are a big bunch of enablers!!
Ended up going looking for this l'occitane freebie I hadn't seen because I'd unsubscribed from the emails. Stopped myself in the end though :rotfl::rotfl:
I've shopped my stash and am currently using a full size sanctuary shower gel in the original fragrance.
If the call ever goes up then my super power will definitely be a stack of body lotions that never get used. I go through shower gel and body lotion at a ratio of about 10:1!0 -
Sisley face mask sachet- nothing special
Benefit total moisture sachet- all right thick moisturizer
Nivea eye make up remover- not loving it very harsh
Aldi make up remover pads- never ever buy again so harsh compared to tesco at the same price!
Clairins daily moisturizer tester- ok nothing special
Trilogy rosehip oil tester-only 3ml but used up
the cleanser is spluttering. (i have a litre bottle of by phase to use up- un opened)
the stash is slowly coming down, little by little. years ago i had a small bag of great items that i used fully and replaced when finished.
rogueylawyer, did you ever consider using a body lotion as a shower lotion. I know a lot of dermatologists recommend using aqueous cream as a soap substitute. I don't like lotions so i use them as a face cleanser for the first layer of heavy make up- saving the good cleanser for second cleansing.0 -
Guys please remind me I do not need any more perfumes. I'm ill and can't sleep and I am reading a copy of glamour USA and in it is an advert for modern muse that has the scented stuff so you can sample it and it smells so good I want!! Might put it on my birthday wish list. I do NOT need any more right now.:o:o:o
Why do they put these samples in magazines just to tempt us
Eta. From the start of February I'm going on an eBay and no online shopping ban, not just for toiletries but everything. I think this is the root of my problem. I'm not in debt or anything but I'd like my finances to increase and I think that avoiding online purchases will really help. It's too easy to buy online and not think about how much I'm spending. In a shop you have to use your card and put your pin in etc or hand over cash and I think it makes you more aware. I do miss actually going shopping it used to be the occasional treat that I looked forward to when I had a rare day off work, nowadays I spend online constantly, I need to stop this and go back to making shopping a treat!! And save money so that I can enjoy it as a treat. Need to get back on the weight loss wagon again after Christmas too, I've put on 1kg and I know that's not a huge amount but is stil a gain and I don't want to spiral upwards again! So from the start of feb I will aim to get my **** together!!!
Plan of action:
- sort through all my toiletries and get them organised in boxes labelled so I can see what I've got ( I bet there's tons I've forgotten about) and do that I can find stuff when I need it. Otherwise I give up and buy more unnecessarily. I must only buy products that are really needed when they are needed (for example if run out of deodorants as go through these quickly). Will buy some more plastic tubs this weekend if possible then make a start on this.
- quit buying online. See if I can go cold turkey on eBay etc. I don't need anymore toiletries clothes DVDs etc. and I don't need to make a bomb cosmetics or lush order as I have plenty to be going on with for now!! My American friend us coming back from USA at the end of feb and I want to take her to lush (she's never been) so I need to save so that I can enjoy a little treat in the actual shop in March or April when the Easter range is in (I want the pot of gold jelly this year but I must be good until then to justify it).
- get back on the weight loss wagon. Cut out the rubbish again and have it only as a Saturday night treat not an everyday occurrence!! It was so much easier when I was doing sleep ins as I'd only take what I was having and once I'd eaten it there was no more, but never mind. I'm on day shifts currently so I just need to avoid temptation of mums cupboards and make healthier choices. I found it easy before I just got used to the taste of sweets chocolate and biscuits again over Christmas when there was loads in the house, it's basically all gone now so need to stop until Easter. Then I can have a little treat and then back on the wagon until Christmas. Get out on the bike more again weather allowing. Ride the pony more!! If I want us to be good enough as a partnership to start competing and hacking out in the summer then I need to get out on her more when the weather starts looking up (it's been too boggy to ride). The money I will save on online purchases should help me to afford the fuel to go up a lot more in the summer when the evenings are lighter and I can ride her after work. I lost 10kg last year and I'd like to do the same or more this year. I need to stop buying toiletries etc to make me feel better about not being able to eat junk etc though, I just need to realise that I have enough. I have a roof over my head, a car, a job, a share pony, plenty of food, toiletries, clothes to see me through. I do NOT need anymore. A healthier bank balance will surely fee, so much better than anymore toiletries will!!
Sorry for the rant, just can't sleep and having a bit of thinking time, need to get my life in order. Hopefully with the support of all you lovely people on this thread it'll be onwards and upwardsNo Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2015/2016/2017/2018

And I'm just getting into 'The Man in the High Castle' which looks very promising – that’s on Amazon TV though.
We're about half way through this. It is amazing but certain bits make me hide behind a pillow!!My debt free diary

Gemzie - all the things you mention are just habits that either need to be broken or started. Good Luck.
I have a uu
Poppy King No7 Lip Crayon in Skipping - this was part of the raindrops collection she did for No7, it is a beautiful red which goes on semi sheer and glossy. I like that there is less waste at the end of one of these than there is with the twist up type. I have another this colour and some other colours in the stash but can't replace after that. I have replaced it with a Body Shop lipstick in a sheer plum colour.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
