No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries January 2016

Well I just popped into my local boots at about 9.30 and apart from some christmas cards and a few calendars and some vases, there was NOTHING left on the shelves bar empty packaging. There were a couple of people hanging about with HUGE (I mean, massive, you would never have enough space in your cupboards to store it all even if you emptied them all, like 5 ft tall piles of things) piles of S&G sets and other sets and toys. One man said he was waiting for his brother to bring the van round. Obviously a car boot job - as in selling at, cos it would never fit in a car boot! I don't understand how they did it because there are no trolleys in that store and all those things would fill baskets very quickly, so how did they get them to the check out?
Anyway I felt a bit disappointed (I know I said I didn't want any of it yesterday...) and annoyed at all these people buying loads that obvisouly wasn't for themselves or for presents for other people. I know it's a free market and everything, but it does leave a bitter taste.0 -
In our little town the Boots store had approximately 300 of the S&G sets when they were still £25, last weekend there were a few less but still loads and loads, I'm not sure whether there will still be loads left today or not but there doesn't seem to be the frenzy in my two local stores as there is in some of the bigger ones. I have thought about going into town to get one now they are £18 but haven't - it may be a wasted journey, I have quite a lot of S&G stuff already so it would just be added to the pile, I don't want the fake tan, the mascara or the lip gloss so it would be £18 spent for no reason at all really.
I have a uu
Dove Silky Nourishing Body Cream 300ml - gorgeous stuff, goes on beautifully and has that lovely dove smell.
Repainted my nails last night with Tanya Burr Penguin Chic which I love so much I have a spare of.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Summing up my stash for 2015, with one last UU and one TA.
UU – Nivea lip butter in vanilla & madadamia – WBA
TA – Coppertone 50SPF – too greasy for face so put in bag for use during the summer when out and about. Probably past it's sell by date and won't need it again until the sun comes out! WBA, only 99p for the 99p shop and handy for summer days.
Brings my stash to 32 after starting the year at 64. Of course, I did this tally before xmas, so now have loads of stuff to count up. Dreading it really! No more goo hoarding!

I did visit the little store near work this morning and got the two S&G kits as planned. I think there were still 7 left on thes shelf. The SA said that they had had loads of this kit delivered to store via online shopping and that most people did not buy instore there. If anyone wants to know where this particular store is in Greater Manchester let me know. For me, it's items that we will all use or be able to gift and a real bargain at that price. There is a voucher inside also for a free sample of a facial cleanser and then 50% of the full size.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I mentioned earlier that I also planned on buying some John Frieda shampoo from Boots but I found that it was only the styling products on offer. Called into ASDA for some groceries and saw JH, Aussie and 2 other brands on a collective offer of buy 3 for £10. Emma uses Aussie so bought an Aussie shampoo and conditioner and a JF shampoo.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. It's good that you have earmarked those items to be used though. X
The plan was a disaster, one day it took for the plan to fall apart, VALM. The primer was for oily skin and mine is like the sahara on a bad day. I looked like I aged 10 years over night. It was so bad. The tester of foundation was dire.
got a new foundation to try instead, anything would be better. after the primer and foundation mess-up i think i will try things on in the privacy of the house (and not scare the public).
The only out was to re-purpose the remainder of timotei shampoo for laundry detergent. The clothes came out clean and forgetting to buy persil was not a big issue.
it sounds like everyone else had a good day getting some nice in's and resisting in other cases.0 -
Got a UU to report:
Avon naturals blackberry & vanilla body yogurt- Wnba the scent had gone odd I think it was starting to go off. It was quite a thin cream so definitely felt like I was literally putting a yogurt on myself. I wasn't that keen on it, I prefer thick butters as opposed to lotions. I think it would be ok for summer as a lighter cream and its cooling on the skin but I prefer tbs sorbets or the Vaseline spray in the summer so probably Wnba.
Dolly- thankyou I will keep an eye out for thoseNo Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2015/2016/2017/2018
