DH is having a long weekend to catch up on paperwork, so, as usual I doubt I'll get much cleaning/ decluttering done!

104-128 outdated work catalogues no longer needed - Recycling
129-143 work catalogues not able to be reused - Recycling
144-203 work sale catalogues no longer needed - Recycling
It may be slightly cheating to be counting my work catalogues but I'm not counting food items etc and the catalogues easily start to clutter up the place if I'm not strict about reusing or recycling them!Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
I'll have to look out for the book. I'm reading 'clear your clutter with dengue shui' Karen Kingston. I bought it years ago and read it. Thought I would read it again to inspire me again.
Thank you Gem-gem have read and enjoyed the book, having been on Karen Kingstons website/blog the book is coming out revised and updated in March 2016 if anyone is interested. For me it re-established why I am trying to declutter and live with quality rather than quantity.218monthstogo (Government Retirement Date 2034)

I'm moving house in a couple of weeks and relocating. I've just finished at work so I've got 2 weeks to get everything sorted ready for the move. We're moving to a smaller place temporarily and I really want to have a good declutter so we're not having to move things we don't need / use (like we have done the last couple of moves!).
I have far too much stuff but I don't have a problem with getting rid of stuff. The problem lies with my OH. 2 house moves ago I managed to get him to have a bit of a clear out but it was so painful - he was acting like a child about it. Trouble is he has so much stuff and clothes that he hasn't worn since I've been with him (6 years!).
I raised the subject again now, but the response I got was but I threw so much out when we moved last time. So my question is how do you get a reluctant OH on board with decluttering?
He's normally completely rational but he just finds it so hard to get rid of stuff... Any tips?0 -
66-67: 2 large cardboard boxes now empty as I've ebayed everything that was in them! Recycled as definitely not re-usable.
68: novelty notebook (unused): CS
69: nail varnish/manicure set (unused): CS
Found a few more bits of costume jewellery to ebay, so I've listed those, and three more of m'chaps items have sold (not counting those in my own total), so bits and bobs are going gradually!3-6 month EF Challenge Member #19: £3590/£6000.[/B] Craft destash from 22.5.22: 46/200. Hi melanzana
Thanks for the post, it was interesting to hear your story. I feel overwhelmed by sorting everything out but a couple of weeks ago I knew I had to take charge of the situation and this forum really helps.
