  • Hi,

Can I join in? :D Am a serial lurker on OS threads (I come on during work :o - I'm too busy with 3 kids when I get home but I work term-time so doing some catching up with stuff).

I've done quite well this weekend, had a VERY rare day of staying in on Friday (various clubs/lessons to take the kids to on weekend :( more money, less time)

But I had a little sort out of the kids' room and 5 year old DD seems to have decided that she doesn't want to conform to society's expectations and has authorised me to get rid of all her Disney Princess dresses (which I've listed on a local selling page) and I've sold

    1) Kids nurse's dress up
    2) Toy wooden cot + 2 baby dolls + dollies clothes
    3) 2 pairs of little girls' boots

I took offers less than I posted them for in 2 cases (£5 less for the cot and stuff and £3 less for the boots) but tbh I just wanted them gone. And I'm rubbish at haggling! :rotfl: I've listed a lion's dressing up outfit of DS's too,, that's getting picked up tomorrow morning. I'm saving the cash in a jar instead of using it to fund out soft play excursion tomorrow  (not ideal but wanted to meet a friend and her kids).

Stashed in a bag ready for the charity shop (but admittedly might take a while to get there!!) are:

    4) Tin Recipe organiser (unwanted Xmas present)
    5) 6) and 7) 3 pairs of kids shoes (unsold from nearly new sale)
    8) A book
    9) box of 7 nail varnishes (Xmas pressie for my 5 year old but she got mini ones in her stocking)
    10) 2 pairs of kids' swimming trunks
    11) Disney princess dress and tiara
    12) Digital watch from a Happy Meal (unopened)
    13) Little bag of jewellery
    14) Little Mermaid snow globe
    15) Kids' fleecy onesie
    16) Kids' I love London Hoodie
    17) Odd and ripped kid's PJ top (Bin)
    18) Stained beyond repair cream little girls cardi (from Monsoon :( ) (bin)

Has anyone ever used one of those places where they weigh bags of clothes and gives you cash for it?

Hubby also did a massive CS run with a pile of stuff from the garage, which I cleared out of the house over the last few months, but I'm only counting from now.

    Morning lovely people

Welcome Shortypie - decluttering can become addictive - you have been warned! ;)

I've been flinging left, right and centre but have lost my list, so will start again this half term. The boys' playroom is a pit and I need to clear out Tiny's wardrobe as he's had a growth spurt and outgrown loads of clothes.

    Shovel at the ready...

Off work for the week as it's half term here, so keeping eye on DS and DD. Doesn't take too much nowadays, other than keeping them fed and watered and persuading them to get off various devices/games consoles and perhaps read a book or go out for a bit of fresh air every so often ☺.
Delighted to report that HiFi that has been packed up by the front door for about a week has been driven to BHF electricals shop and dropped off with help of DS. Determined that more stuff will be gone by end of week. Going to evict DS from his room for a bit soon as I've finished my cuppa so that I can dust and hoover, so much easier since we declutttered it!

Found a few more bits of costume jewellery to ebay, so I've listed those, and three more of m'chaps items have sold (not counting those in my own total), so bits and bobs are going gradually!

Retrieved 69 from the charity bag and gave it to DS's friend to cheer her up on a gloomy day :) Still left the house though!

70: one of the jewellery lots sold on Ebay - posted

Another one sold but not yet paid, so I'll list it when it leaves the house.
Two more of m'chap's shirts sold and posted, and a webcam sold this evening, so that'll go in tomorrow's post.

Last of my toxic ex's carp is leaving the house on Wednesday - totalling about 50 items. Can I count that in my total? I've got loads of lovely loft space now as a result! :rotfl:

I have, today, for the first time, and got just under £10.

50p/kilo for clothing and 25p kilo for paired-up shoes.

They emptied all my bin-bags out on the counter and transferred the items into a massive bag on the scales. They only rejected 2 items - a baby blanket and a pair of socks (they don't do socks.) On the wall was a big list of what they take and what they don't so I'd suggest you call in and take a look at the lists.

    Very fast process.

    Hth.

  • 71 - box of very old Trivial Pursuit question cards (perfect for pensioners though!) - CS
72 - borrowed book - returned to owner after two years by the side of my bed!

Another Ebay parcel posted for m'chap as well. I should have started keeping a total for him too!

  • Thanks for that Serendipitous. Will do. You know, eventually :rotfl:

    19-32) DVDs/PS3 games to CS
33-37) same, but back to my parents'
    38) half a bag of assorted !!!! from a box under my bed - bin

Have cleared a box from under my bed :D this was part-chuck and part redistribute to a big storage box where I'm trying to keep my decreasing amount of crafting stuff. Found my box of watercolour pencils, which will be nice to use on the grown-up colouring book my dad gave me for Xmas (which will be binned once finished!) and 48p in change!

Also cleared out the DVD collection as you can see and found 5 x code leaflets for the Disney Movie Rewards website, so should be able to bag a freebie from that for the kids (although am having trouble logging in at present but must try and do it tomorrow instead of adding the code leaflets to the clutter ;) )

Also fished out 6) and 7) from the CS bag - kids shoes, am giving them to my sister for her little boy to grow into.
