65: Small bag of bits of broken jewellery. Not good enough to Ebay - bin
Also found some odds and ends of costume jewellery that I've made into five bundles for Ebay. I wish I found it easier to get rid of stuff - has anyone reachd the stage yet when they don't spend ages deliberating what to throw?
Going to try and top 300 today
I've been lurking here for a while.
I took early retirement a couple of years ago, and always had a declutter in my mind.
I too found it difficult to decide what to bin and what to keep. But I had a transformation about two weeks ago for some reason, I can't explain it.
Anyway, I started in the guest bedroom. Huge bank of wardrobes full of total c rap, clothes, shoes, bags odds and ends. I started one Monday morning, and I decided if I hadn't worn it or used it within the past year it was going!
Eight hours later I had........15 bags for the CS, two for the WEE electric recycling (old fans, cd player, kettles, etc. none working, what am I like!) and two for the black rubbish bin. Got rid of them all next day. Gone.
Next day I kept going and did the boxroom (eh, laundry, ironing, document, general dumping ground). Bags and bags for the black non recycling bin.
I then had a rest!. Today I have just cleared out the kitchen cupboards. OMG the amount of things way out of date, gone.
The freezer is next. But I need another rest!
Well the CS got a ton of stuff, all good, no tat, and all clean. Clothes, bags, and tons of pairs of shoes.
I have learned a big lesson doing all this. I now have four pairs of "good" shoes for going out. 5 bags for going out, and 6 or 7 outfits for Hatches Matches and dispatches, and having dinner out at the weekend.
Other than that I wear casual clothes (early retired) and Skechers. That's it. Plus a pair of winter boots for bad weather.
I feel tremendously virtuous! Such a wonderful feeling.
Still have bits and pieces to do, but the hard work is done now.
Best of luck to everyone going through this cleansing in their lives, it is so worth it.
The lesson is not to buy anything you don't need. Hard lesson but I'm getting there.0 -
