    Morning all,

My Grandson is still with me. I'll be doing his breakfast in a few minutes but he's watching RaaRaa at the moment on his tablet. I'll let him watch the episode first. He slept well. From 8 till 7.30 so I can't complain.

My cough has returned. I hope I'm not as poorly as I was a few weeks ago.

Planning on taking the tree down today. I like to take it down for the New Year. I'll be sad to see it gone as for me, it's just perfect!

I'm going to try to visit Mom today. The only thing she needs from me now is my time. Material things she has all she needs.

Hope your ok Rosy. Please post when you can.

    Hugs to Csarina.

    Onwards and forwards

    Have a great day all.

    Morning everyone,

Clear but windy day here, still relatively mild but apparently the temperature is due to drop to zero tonight, will be a bit of a shock!

Yesterday was quiet and restful with lots of reading and general catching up with washing etc, I did take Billy out for a walk but tbh the wind was so strong it was worrying under the trees etc so cut it short, will go over again this morning.

This afternoon we are off to the pics and then will spend the evening at home with a glass of something cold and bubbly :j
TA. - will keep my fingers crossed that you continue to improve.

Just wanted to wish everyone a happy and peaceful new year, take care folks xx
  • Good Morning chums and <<hugs to those who are having a tough time at the moment I do hope the New Year will be better for you all.
I'm off to eldest Dds later today and we are going out for dinner tonight then back to her place for the bells.I love Hogmany as growing up with Scots parents it was more important than Christmas as children. We had lots of customs in our house that my Mum and Dad kept up and to me when the doors and windows are opened to let the New Year in and the old year out its just magical to me.
All my new years cleaning of my house is done and all the washing and ironing done and put away,so my house is sparkling at the moment :):):)
I do wish everyone on here a very happy and peaceful New Year and I'll 'see' you all again in 2016

Lang may your lum reek :):):):)

  • Good Morning everyone, how lovely to wake up to a benign morning with very little wind and an almost blue sky, even a little sunshine out there too which makes a difference to mood doesn't it? Well, here we are and it's New Years Eve already. We don't do a big celebrate but will stay up to see the New Year in and enjoy the fireworks this year instead of being cross for Dockys sake as he'd get so scared. We're having a fondue tonight to use up some of the cheese surplus and some homemade cider instead of white wine so that will be nice and also easy. We're visiting one of the garden centres this morning in the hope that there will be some wrapping paper and Christmas cards in the sale, a trip to town yesterday was dire, the sales almost non existent and the prices in the sales that were on way to high to even contemplate buying, had there been anything worth having! DD1 and He Who Knows will go back to her home tomorrow after lunch and have tickets for the rugby on Saturday afternoon so I'll have a couple of days to sort out the house and restore normality. I love Christmas but it's always nice to get New Year here and done with and then back to normal routine isn't it?

Have yourselves a nice day everyone, Lyn xxx.

I still have some Aperol (Sainsbob's is the only sm round here where I can get it) but I was also tempted by a bottle of the Aldi copycat - Apice - have you tried it and, if so, how does it compare? At half the price of the real thing I couldn't resist putting a bottle in my trolley when I saw it. Cheers!! xx

    I haven't tried it , I didn't know about it but I will definitely give it a go :D

Kitchen is cleaned and thoroughly steamed and all the ironing done , next job s to start taking down the decs , I've agreed to leave the tree up till tomorrow due to the protestations lol

    Cuppa I think first :T
  • :santa2: Good morning everyone,

Well its a lovely sunny day here in Kent, so nice to see the sunshine.

    Hugs to everyone:grouphug:

Mrs TA, fingers crossed the a/bs work for you and have a lovely evening.
    Thinking of csarina and floss.

Well DH is working today, but phoned to say he would probably be finished reasonably early, so I am thinking I will do a stir fry with noodles for dinner as I think the children will be around, although not sure if they have made plans for tonight. I know DH and I will be spending it quietly as we need to save every penny

DH also said the company he is working for is going to let 12 drivers go after the New Year, so I hope its not DH as although the job is hard and long hours we could do with a few months of regular money coming in to get ourselves straight.

DD wants me to go shopping with her around the charity shops today, but is still in bed:eek::eek:, I will get her moving in a moment as I want to do some food shopping as well today and see if I can pick up a few bargains too.

Washing just finished so will hang that out too.

I just wanted to say that I really enjoy being part of this little community and reading how different everyone's lives are.

I would just like to wish everyone a Happy New Year, and hope that 2016 is better than 2015 and everyone achieves their goals.

(I'm still trying to decide what my goals are:rotfl::rotfl:)

  • Morning ((((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.

The wind has dropped quite a bit and just now its sunny., I have towels out on the line and the throw I use on OH's chair in the washer. In the midst of my New Year clean. Fire is laid ready, sitting room done, just have to empty the kitchen and do it including the muddy floor.

Thank you all for your thoughts, it is comforting to know that so many people have us in their thoughts and prayers at, what is for us, a very difficult time. DD2 rang yesterday as I had not answered her message on Facebook. I told her that granddaughter was being such a pest I had stopped reading face book, so if she wanted to contact me to Email.

Sausage mash and beans tonight for supper, possibly banana and cream for dessert. We also have 6 mince pies still to eat. The first time in living memory I bought mince pies this year. I just do not seem to be able to get into gear. Maybe things will improve after next Friday.

I hope those of you who may be affected by the awful floods are ok, we watched the news last night, people airlifted off a bus, how they did it I really do not know. The services who have worked tirelessly to help through the floods, should get medals..........if any one deserves it its them.

Enjoy your New Years Eve however you will be spending it. We will be watching a bit of TV or reading by the fire.

Morning all, can I join you?

wealthy fingers crossed about DHs job.

Mrs L I totally get what you say about getting back to normal. I've lived being off work, but I'll be quite pleased when we get back to work/school/nursery.

I think today will be quite OS for me, the sun is out, so I'll get a quick wash on and out to dry, as I do love the smell of line dryed washing.

I've just put some henna on my hair, which is cheaper than many hair dyes, so I think that's quite OS.

.... have to go now as Dd is moaning
  • Hello all, I have been up and potting about sick 3.30 yet again, which does not bode well for seeing in the new year really. I will be glad to be finished with 2015, this year and last have brought some rather unpleasant challenges and I hope for a better year and hope that for you all too.

I finally bit the bullet and did the ironing, I made it into several piles of 10 items and each pile earned me a few minutes worth of reading a book. I hope that self-bribery is not as unacceptable as bribing a child.

I cleaned a fair amount in the last few days, I will never reach the zenith of tidiness but I do like things to be clean and particularly for the new year.I would put that it sets the tone for the year but since I appear to have spent much my adult life resolutely lowering the tone, that would possibly not ring true, just something that has meaning for me.

I read back this morning and have been thinking of RR what a scary situation.

I would like to thank you for making me feel welcome here and I will think of those of us who have had horrible things to contend with very recently and hope that next year will bering some positive things.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back
