My name is Fen and I have only once in my life visited the Swedish emporium. And bought NOTHING.
Am I still allowed to visit here?Probably not.
My name is GQ and I have only once visited the big blue and yellow shed. And I bought three of their big blue bags and was absolutely delighted with them.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I go there for their Kilner type jars - half the price and just as good.It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

......slinks back in.
I bought two pots of jam, the remains of one is in the fridge, the other is unopened in the cupboard. After eight years.
Forgive me for forgetting the comestibles purchase. And then forgetting to eat them ( way too sweet). And then not chucking them away. I have sinned in word and deed ( and memory. Blame my age).
The Swede is a stuff shop for me, not a food shop, so my memory failed me. Could that actually be part of the clutter problem? Ive forgotten that I've bought something from X because it's a Y shop? Are associations important? Probably so, as we remember the niknaks bought on holiday: a specific type of action ( the purchase of a souvenir ) in a specific place ( on holiday ) makes a memory.
I'm going to go and ponder the question of forgotten purchases.0 -

I have been once as well, years ago, and I bought a bathmatGood enough bathmat, I still have it. But I probably won't bother going back there again, way too exhausting. My daughter, on the other hand, loves it, particularly the 'storage solutions' :rotfl:

My name is M and I visited the store once, years ago. Bought 4 lovely rush-seated chairs. Still have them. Also 2 x CODs. Still have them, fully functional, perfect fit for the alcoves.
And i LOVE putting together self-assembly furniture
MxI have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0 -
Bless me GQ, for I have sinned:
Before moving in with DH, I lived within 5 minutes drive of the W@rrington blue & yellow store, and at one time most of my furniture was from there until it was shared out in the divorceNow we have lots of shelving, a TV unit & cabinet, some COD and a kitchen from there. Oh and our everyday crocks & water tumblers are Swedish

I'm getting quite excited about the prospect of being a van-driver-for-a-day and planning how to use the rental time for maximum efficiency, in terms of doing stuff which is normally difficult-to-impossible with only a pushbike or shank's pony.
Checklist; roundtrip to parental home, swopping pushbikes and offloading some Stuff which would normally have to wait til next visit on public transport.
My route back will take me within a quarter-mile of their town dump, so I will ask if they want anything dropped off there. I'm also out of potting compost, so will swing by a garden centre and buy some bags, back up to the city and to the rec. yard for fenceposts and deliver them to the lottie. Depending on how close it is to the time I have to get it back to the hire company, I may also go to a big out of town store.
:j Yup, getting quite excited about the possibilities.
Today's plan is going to t'office and slaving over a telephone and then popping into the junk shop on the way home for a cuppa and a natter with my pal. Don't expect to do any decluttering whilst there for only 20-30 mins but ya never know.
Have a great day, folks, the monsoon seems to have abated here, and I've just about got yesterday's ensemble - and handbag! - dried out.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Haha - what a confessional I started!! I also came home with all the brochures on their kitchens ......................;)Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

We forgive you, silvasava. One of my pals had her house badly damaged by fire and when she re-did the interior after the insurance paid out, everything came from there. It's a nice look.
Just had a very brief call with the parents and they will go to their Bee and Queue for the potting compost today (I did some calcs and the pensioner discount is worth having, on what I'm buying it'll work out close to a free bag of compost). Then, my van-a-thon will be faster and more efficient.
Was having a wee internal convo; I could go up to X shop on the outskirts with the van and buy a boom-box (city centre has a paucity of this kind of retail). It'd be a good way of getting it. Hang on, I've been without a CD player for a couple of months +, haven't really noticed, can always play CDs on the pooter.
I shall sit on my wallet until I feel the urge. After all, reflexively replacing broken items, without questioning whether the replacement is really needed, is one of the many routes up Clutter Mountain, hey?Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
