The jeans are hiut denim, made in Wales, my oh has a pair which is now well into the fourth year and going well, these are over a year old and worn daily. I braved the slim fit high waist....I have gymnast thighs so can't normally get slim jeans over my knees! They were (gulp) £125 but per wear they are becoming exceptional value for me! I had a lovely chat to one of the girls there when trying to decide what to get.

Thank you for this, I will get a pair before winter and one for OH to try as well. I don't mind paying more if I'm going to get value from the purchase ie looking good and lots of use.

I know the discussion was a few weeks ago, but I also want to thank everyone else for their thoughts and experiences on clothes which last/don't last.

RL has continued to throw challenges at us but at least we were able to get away for our 10 day holiday which we desperately needed to take. I am itching to get on with Kondoing but there are so many other things which have priority at the moment. I will continue to pick up things as I see them - there is a book on the out pile along with a pair of tracksuit bottoms (too small) and a cardi for the ragbag.

GQ - many thanks for all that info.

I may try again using a different 'blend' of items.

After the strong winds of last night, had to spend some time repairing a fallen down trellis with a spring flowering clematis on, hopefully not too badly damaged, and tying up some potted up shrubs which have suffered.

As I left for work this morning I asked DH to go through his possessions and put some stuff in CS bag. This house is tiny and we still have too much stuff in it!
I got home to find.......... nothing added to CS bag

To compound the problem I have bought some new smalls (smaller smalls, iykwim!) and a pair of smaller jersey trousers. To be fair i have got rid of far more items than i have bought :)

A client has asked me to make her some jam and a couple of fruit crumbles using fruit from her freezer stash. As I am off on Thursday i reckon I can fit this in. She has offered to pay for my time and give me some of the finished product :D

As I finished early today and tea is in the oven i am going to kondo (re-kondo) the annoying drawer of doom.

PS- the new shelf and basket arrangement is working a treat. I have the set up in two cupboards (they have never had shelves in them before). I may go for broke and buy one more shelf and one more basket, so all the matching cupboards will be sorted. It's amazing how much joy one can get from an investment of £16 :rotfl: Of course they are pale grey, so bang on trend?!
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

Did a garage NOT sale at the weekend. Listed about 15 types of items, e.g. Sports equipment, gardening stuff, diy stuff, keyboard, camping stuff etc on freecycle. Lots of people responded. First couple for each item given my address. Explained first come first serve at 10 am on Saturday. There were people queuing outside. Within 15 minutes 90 percent of my double garage was clear. Some people had to come back for a second load. They all seemed happy with the items.

:T This is such a good idea, brilliant. Plenty of people would leap at the chance of a freebie or three and, by putting a time-frame on the collection, you were able to get the stuff moving quickly. Well done.

I've been having a Think and have decided that my pushbike - the Pashley PrIncess which was Mum's - is going back to her place and I'm taking back my gents R@liegh as the latter has the right-sized frame for my lanky self. The PP is too small and it's been upsetting my legs and is difficult to ride because I can't extend my legs enough to get the full range of movement. Our homes are 30 miles apart and I will effect the swoperoonie later this month, likely by hiring a small van for the day.

I will also probably take advantage of having a van for a few hours and do a dump run and pick up some more fenceposts for the lottie from the reclamation yard.

I thought you were going to say you'd cycle :)

Mind you, I can see the temptation of a day reverting to your 'white van woman' persona is difficult to resist :p

:) Time was, a 30 mile bike ride would have been nothing special but that was pre-ME. And one of the two bikes is too small to ride efficiently, my gents R@liegh Courier has a 23.5 inch frame and PP has 20 inch frame. The difference makes a huge difference.

Plus, the delights of having a van. I'm looking at van p o r n atm, or the site of my friendly neighbourhood indy rental place. Shall I have a lickle car-derived van or a Transit or a LWB summat or other ................? Decisions, decisions.....

Oooo, the deep joy of having a driving license. I can drive vintage double-deckers, I'll have you know, although my daily driver in that class is presently in a museum. In pieces, being cannibalised for spares.

Vroom, vroom, just need to pick a day I can book off work and then get ma wheels organised.:D

GQ - I've always had to ride men's bikes for the same reason - don't know why they only seem to do ladies bikes with small frames - there's plenty of us longshanks about! My friend who wants my dining room furniture son is moving out soon so she will be able to take it - I do the know who is the more excited me, her or her son & DiL lol. I went to the big blue Swedish emporium today and s p e n t m o n e y - shhhh. I bought two stainless steel expanding racks to store my baking sheets and roasting pans upright and two cushion covers. Very joyful purchases for a total of £20.
I did make the comment to my friends that 80% of the store is for items to store stuff in - so if you get rid of the stuff there's no need to buy the boxes, baskets, etc ;)
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

My name is Fen and I have only once in my life visited the Swedish emporium. And bought NOTHING.

Am I still allowed to visit here?
