:o I do have a CD drive as well as a DVD drive (heck, this pooter is so very old it even has a floppy disc drive) but, when I went to use it, I couldn't fathom how to work the 'creative play centre' program.

How embarrassing. I will have to read the manual, when the moon is in the right quarter and I can be arrissed.

Had a productive meet with my complementary health practioner and then spent last evening with my nose stuck in a book.

Today will involve working and, after work, a flying visit to the junk shop to return something borrowed to my pal and have a quick natter.

Weight loss is continuing steadily (2.2 kg in past fortnight) and I have hopes of eventually meeting my target weight, which would be 5 stone down from where I started over a year ago. Slow and steady wins the race.

One trick from my complementary practioner, which eliminated the dark shadows under my eyes in days (and all sorts of people are telling me how well I look) is to use honeygar (sometimes spelled honegar) which is a blend of honey and apple cider vinegar, available in H& B among other places. A tbsp in a large glass or water once a day. Pretty much a universal panacea, apparently - the dark shadows were a sign of my liver struggling a bit.

It also makes a tasty and refreshing drink.

kondo from the two large outdoor storage boxes this morning good boxes btw, they were from costco online and everything stays dry. Looking forward to doing them. One of my boxes on the lottie has holes in the lid, covered with flat stones but I figured that the mesh in it would deteriorate quicker by sunlight rather than rain, hence I haven`t rushed to kondo that actual box. It`ll do for another couple of years as a container

I got too cosy again last evening and dozed off in a chair, listening to the radio, then I had a good nights sleep too. I think I`ll have to find something interesting to do in the evening. Maybe back to some spinning with a film

If you had a good night's sleep on top of your nap you probably needed it Kittie

Sorry to be away from this thread for so long! I got sucked into the forum that's called 'reddit', and though it was enjoyable at first, it really is the dark side of the internet, and I'll stay away from it from now on.

    Kondoed:
2 pairs of holey underwear (ragbag)
1 pair of holey socks (ragbag)
several too-small items of girls' clothing (donated)
wombled muesli/wombled dried apricots/YS sunflower seeds/some-other-found-in-the-kitchen-cupboard-stuff (made into energy bars)
1 empty battery (recycling). DH mixes old and new batteries, so we have no clue what's what, and he just wants to throw out the lot (about 40) and start again. I don't think this solves the problem :D I have now made labels, and am looking around the house for proper containers to put the labels on, and the batteries in. Batteries that are too flat to keep a remote control running, can still keep a clock running for quite some time.
Made labels for DH's T-shirt piles, because he rifles through all piles before picking the one he wants, even the pile clearly labelled 'vests'.
Stopped reading a library book that just wasn't interesting enough and rather thick.

Really hoping to kondo the long-term guest soon. Things that irk me, for instance: I watch tv about one night per week, when I go through all my recorded programmes and watch Gardeners' World, Beechgrove Garden, Midsommer Murders (on fast forward :)), Death in Paradise, Mrs Brown's Boys, QI. English is not my native language, and Belgium no longer has teletext, so no English subtitles, which means that I need to pay attention, and to follow the jokes, I really need to follow the whole build-up of the joke. HE STARTS TO TALK TO ME. Even my dh knows to leave me in peace this one night per week. I escape to the bedroom/kitchen/garage. There is plenty to clean up in all those places, but I want to veg out in front of the tv with my mending pile one night per week ; I neeeeed this one night per week (does that sound childish enough?).

Thanks for letting me get that off my chest!

Siebrie if you can't kondo the visitor, could OH take him out somewhere whilst you're catching up?

Large bag ready to go to CS tomorrow! Really pleased! Went through 2 drawers and under the bed where the not-quite-fitting clothes are being stored. Decided there were some that i just won't wear, even when they fit, so they are in the bag.
I had also kept a couple of make up bags (xmas gifts, too nice to chuck) but how many do i need? Have repurposed one to hold small first aid kit to take on hols but the other is now in CS bag, too.

Kondo'd 2 hours at art class and produced a pretty bluebell woodland scene with the sun streaming through the trees :) Thoroughly enjoyed my last class for a few months. Am going to take my paints on hols next week (a staycation in a farm cottage) and indulge my, huh humm, talent:rotfl: I look at it this way - I can only improve :D
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

Due to my DH's job, we've always moved around a lot and had a clear out every time. We moved here 5 years ago and had a MEGA clear out!!

So, where does it all come from?

My PIL's have lived in the same house for 40 years, I dread to think how much stuff they have squirreled away!

:p My parents have lived in the same house for 47 years and I know how much stuff they've got - aieeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!:eek::eek:

Just been putting some stuff in a chazzer donation bag. One is an item I bought from that same chazzer a month ago which, on reflection, I've decided was a mistake. Was thinking about possibly holding it aside for another carboot at some unspecified point in 2017 but have decided that I spent £1, could probably get £1 back, is it really worth the hassle?

It'll be joined by a book bought from the same shop a week ago and joyfully read and released and a few other bits and bobs.

Been busy working and playing and haven't done too much kondo-ing but, in a space this small, every 'out' is a detectable improvement.

My address book is also falling apart and wasn't the best style for my needs anyway so will probably buy (highly unusual activity for non-grocery items ;)) a NEW one, if I can see something at a reasonable-to-me price. Then the cover of the other one can be recycled and the pages of addresses can be shredded.

Keep up the good work, lovely peeps. GQ x

I've been busy kondoing box files at work. We don't need the old files on the office shelves but the paperwork needs to be kept for 7 years. I ordered bankers boxes and 30 odd files have been re-homed in 6 boxes - just need somewhere to store the boxes now!

I have parted company with a weeping fig tree I bought as a tiny 9 inch high plant in M&S in 1990. It has lived in 7 different homes since then, but had got very straggly and had lots of long branches with leaves just at the end. Feel guilty really as I don't usually throw away living plants, but short of deliberately killing it by not watering it, what was I to do? We're planning on moving in a couple of years, the plant didn't exactly add much visually to our current home and there wouldn't have been anywhere to move it to in our planned new one, at least initially.

So it has been thanked and put in the garden waste bin. I've kept the pot, I will probably buy a parlour palm to replace it.

ETA parlour palm has been discounted, I'm looking for something to go into our sunroom and the light dry conditions won't suit a pp. Have to think of something else.
