KonMari 2016 - The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up

Then I sat down with my personal accounts, which I keep for my own amusement, and caught up with the last 3 months of 2015. Did some filing, and some personal administration, inc chucking some stuff out, so all up-to-date.
We control freaks like to be up-to-date, it makes us joyful.;)

I'm struggling a bit to move on to new categories. I've decided to re visit the areas I have done, clothes, kitchen and toiletries. I've been looking at ideas on the net and I think I will rearrange my kitchen slightly.
I need to house all my small appliances together, ideally in the cupboard under the stairs, this will free up some space in the actual kitchen. It will mean however re homing some items currently residing on the shelves under the stairs.
Decisions, decisions.....

Well OH has gone off to start his new contract this morning and I won't see him again until Friday night (boohoo). Good start to the morning, cat went out when OH left as she usually does, was out ages for her and brought me back a dead mouse.
I work from home and have got in the bad habit of being at my desk from about 7.30am, until OH was coming home at about 6pm when I started cooking. Am going to try and make sure I stop work now at 4.30pm (when post is collected from the end of our street) and do other stuff even if that's cleaning, tidying, KM'ing or whatever.
Busy day today, 60 tasks in my electronic diary, better go and have a shower and crack on with some of them I can do before the sane folk get up and into work.Make £2025 in 2025

Can I be very smug and share that I submitted my online tax return in April, got my rebate within 7 days, and still haven't spent it all!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Wow! I got mine done in December which is s month earlier than usual, (sadly no rebate, I had to pay them) - but I'm usually sweating over it on 31st Jan and I'm sure MK helped me this year. Because I'd tackled the Beast of Paper I knew where all the relevant paperwork was.
Two of my friends were doing theirs last night. That smug feeling is good, isn't it!Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0 -
Small amount of Kondoing going on. The shoes from my cull have gone on ebuy last night along with a vintage handbag - fingers crossed.
I heartily endorse GQ's recommendation for having an exit strategy as my small spare room had become a dumping ground. I've now got a CS bag in there with a couple of items to go - that will go as soon as I have a bit more stuff. The couple of electrical items that are beyond repair are in the boot ready for when I next pass the tip.
When I was dishing up dinner I used a pair of scissor tongs that irritate me so they will go. I have another pair that I do like so may get some more but will wait & see.
February is here - the nights are getting lighter and much joyful Kondoing to be done!

Good morning to you to Mrs MP and all kondoers, flippin windy here, but dry atm, not sure if sun is going to make an appearance, do hope so:D
I am plodding on, revisiting clothes and accessories/shoes. Lots have left and summer clothes still to be done, a few joyful CS replacements that fit nicely have arrived, 2 very smart t shirt type tops, an arran sweater/tunic and a couple of pretty thermal tops. I totally fell in love with a black/grey faux fur trimmed, hooded Weatherall cape at the CS last week, pure wool and so warm, but common sense prevailed - a) it was bulky and not much wardrobe space in this chalet bungalow, b) it was very heavy and c) it really swamped me a little now that I am such a waif:rotfl::rotfl:, but just for a moment I could picture myself looking mysterious on The Cob at Lyme Regis (French Lieutentant's Woman for those who don't know it:D
Thank you all, keep up the success stories and the great humour, all so motivating and happiness making.:AThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Maddie - good job you left it at the CS - its blowing a hooley ATM and getting stronger this afternoon. You'd be sailing away like Mary Poppins!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Is anyone else doing the 26 week challenge on Facebook? I was ahead because I'd had a head start on clothes but only did books quickly yesterday so close to falling behind (and haven't got them out of house!). Looked into ziffit for the books but most aren't accepted. Only 1 was worth more then £1 to them so it feels like a waste of time may as well just give them to charity shop.
Paperwork this week! Hope I manage to get it done... I should get ahead at some point because some of their categories I don't think I need or need as long onTrying to lose weight (13.5lb to go)0
