We came back from our week in the UK on Friday, did about five loads of laundry yesterday, dropped eldest dd off at horseriding, youngest dd at ballet, did the shopping, cooked, and collapsed! We had a wonderful time, were spoilt at the hotel, did lots of sightseeing on a budget, toured spring gardens and woods, went to London for a day (but skipped seeing a musical, with prices starting at £80 it was above budget :( ). The money we spent went mostly on charity shops and independent coffee and lunch houses. I've bought a gorgeous cup for a cuppa, and that was my gift to myself.

Eta: we also took a carboot full of junk to the tip.

A new category is going to be started today :), an easy straightforward category, Skirts and only skirts and will be either, good or for cs or for shortening. I know the last section will be the fullest but sewing like this is nice, quiet and calming. I expect the alterations will take a full week but that will lead onto me assembling the dressing gown I have already cut out. I won`t be sewing full time as I have seeds to sow and I want to get on a few short cycle rides :)

oh my goodness, I am so embarrassed, I have easily taken my skirts out of the wardrobes and I bet there are a couple more lurking in high up boxes. Suddenly my wardrobes can breathe. This is going to take some major culling. I will have to start by doing a quick sort into types ie summer, winter, dressy, sombre. Ok I`ll open up to it, I now have 35 skirts on my bed. I think I kept buying with hope in my heart. It would be funny if it wasn`t so awful. This category is going to be major good to sort and from this I will be able to add appropriate tops from my stash

    Oh crikey :o:o:o

I'm sorry, Kittie, when I saw the number of skirts, I had to laugh  may you find lots that bring you joy :j

I'm carrying on kondoing in the garden when I can - creating space by removing nonentities I don't want to make way for herbs that I *do* want, plus a few flowers that I love.

I am splitting my sides too karmacat
I was so stupid but hey I did like the delivery man :D
Was like a bull in a china shop half an hour ago, quick drink of water now, no time for coffee. 19 items of clothing in trolley for cs as well as some sundries, like picture frames

Skirts are leading to tops culling and am seeing clear space already. Hugely satisfying and I have many too-long skirts laying on my rebounder, on the landing, so I get the incentive to get on and shorten them

Off to cs now, 12 mile round trip but I need to see the space today :D

Just kondoed 3 floor lamps that were cluttering up my spare room, an IKEA CD stand and two old rugs to a c/s - I felt really great about it until a guy parked next to me, stood and watched me lift the stuff out of my car and kept moaning at me because apparently I was "too close to his precious car" - was *this* close to telling him to either shut up and help me if he was so worried or eff-off! I hate people like that who feel that they're so important that everyone else must run their life around them! It has put me in a really bad mood so sorry for the rant! 😡

Although not quite the same thing, I saw this quote on the back of a small car one day.

"The closer you are, the slower I'll go" Brought a smile to my face.

Popped back onto this thread to give me inspiration, which I always get from reading the posts.

My couch in spare room 2 is just about breaking with all the items I have bagged ready for CS. Gives me great pleasure and when putting ironing away this morning could see quite a few items in wardrobe that won't be there by end of day.

One big "thing" is happening today, so all positive vibes sent this way, greatly appreciated.

Positive vibes on the way, but if you don't mind too much I have kept hold of some - a much loved younger family member should be 5 hours into 6 hour + major surgery at the moment.

I am with you `a frayed knot`

Back home and this is stage one over. Did a lot in a short time and already everything in one small wardrobe fits me and is nice to wear. Bed and floor are also emptied and all empy hangers put away, floor is vacuumed. This afternoon, I am quietly going to start shortening and should manage two skirts, being sensible, I am starting with two winter weight ones. Tailors chalk and a ruler, then hopefully a quick overlock and a one or two line narrow hem. Another day to kondo tops and then the dreaded coats and jackets

Btw I blame `justlastseason` as they have had stupendous sales and all their eastex skirts fit me perfectly :D

    maddiemay, you too, hugs
