That was my take on it. I did take my sewing with me so I could use the time creatively whilst nattering.

Had a fun time listening to a friend describe how hard it is to find the right socks in the morning...I said I have no idea what it's like not to find things out of my sock drawer, as it is beautifully organised and I can see everything that's in it!
There was much googling of this Kondo thing....we may have some new Konverts!Jan 20 - NST challenge

So the last day of half term, I feel i have done nothing but the fact that the 'to do' list has shrunk means I must have accomplished a fair few things. Realistically i think i will get loads done in the holidays but i think i do more when i am actually at work because i of the routine and don't have the luxury of just lounging.
I am now first on the allotment waiting list which although not guaranteed could be in the next few months. Reading about your seed planting I am going to have a go at starting some garlic off. From bits i have read I am going to put each glove [with compost] in a toilet roll in an old ice cream tub on the window sill. I am under the impression that when i plant them on i can do so whilst still in the roll as this will decompose. I am starting to accumulate bits and pieces for the allotment that i can store in an empty drawer for now e.g. netting , trowel. I am also a newbie to it all so am starting to read now. The idea being that when i eventually get one I am motivated to do the clearing of the site as I am more aware of what i am doing.
I am also struggling with a tree like plant that was a mere baby when i bought it. It is currently 3ft high and the same wide. It needs repotting but will have to move from it's current place as it now blocks the tv [but where to?] and i want the new pot to blend in with the room. I am trying to delay the decision until DD room done as some of her stuff is currently housed in my room and i have a feeling too many half done projects on the go will stress me out.
Picked up my photo of the kids which i also need to find a home for ... we won a session and a print in a raffle. There was no pressure to buy more but I got a USB stick with a slide show on of the ones from the sitting as there were loads of them in natural poses. Photographer has asked if he can use some for his displays again and keeps telling me to look into modelling for them but i read so many scare stories and scams that I think if they are meant to be discovered then they will!
Anyway, up and at 'em. Let's go people - challenge you to five random KD now.... no matter how big or small it all adds up!Don’t put it down - put it away!

Technically a work at home day for me but realistically it's the last day of term so I am now on holiday;)
I plan to kondo the phone calls emails and paperwork this morning and then plan my declutter/spring clean week off...........everybody else in the house is busy/working all week so it should be straightforward. .........Hmm mm best laid plans and all that! I have been chipping away since October and keeping on top of things for the 'push' forward this week:eek: Just hope I have my timings right. My first goal is to get a shed load - literally - on Eb*y ,then take plenty to CS going to try a bit of FB selling again and fr**gle will be busy. Have an NCT sale end of March so will get that stuff all labelled up and no doubt a trip to the recycling centre. Also want to fit in some plastic off the beach kondoing #2minutebeachclean - check it out!
If nothing else , I will be busy and kept out if mischief. ....feeling energised. Must be the weak Spring sunshineBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

If you have a large plant pot, you can plant garlic in there - it benefits from a frost to give it flavour, so will be quite happy outside. Mine has been in the ground since late October. For starting now, I would suggest a small bag of seed potatoes,to sit in an egg box on said windowsill so they can "chit" (sprout their growing stems). These can either be planted into the ground or into a couple of potato bags from B&M or HB if you don't get a plot til later in the season.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

We had a work party last night, and I decided my party shoes were too uncomfortable, so I will air them out, give them a good clean, and donate them.
Also, a light blue work shirt that I like and that suits me, but is a little bit too short and keeps popping out of my trousers, is washed and in the 'donate' box.
For the work party I tried on my dresses, and I found that I only have stretch dresses, and a little bit of a belly (I don't mind the belly, it just didn't look nice in a stretch dress), so on my shopping list for the week of 25 February is a proper party dress. We'll be in the UK that week, and your selection of dresses is so much better than the Belgian selection!Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590 -

Space which has been take up with a s p i d e r which has been seen for the past three days cuddling up to the side of one of my over-counter plug sockets. It's a regular spider, not a spindly one like I normally get. I think as it's hanging around in plain sight, it should be named.....
........ suggestions on a forum post, if you wanna play.
I know your spider has now been named - just wanted to share a name with you.

I have been at the hospital for the last two days having various tests and found out I have blood clots on both lungs again. The last time was seven years ago so thought I was fine.
Looks like taking the new anti coagulants, keeping hydrated and a little gentle sorting out is the most kondoing I will be doing for a few days. Even cutting up a big cardboard box had me tired
.
You are doing well elona after two days.
I had a DVT in 1991 which took 11 weeks to be diagnosed , and a second one in 2012 and I called in the paramedics that night because I was sure what it was. I was lucky because before I got to the hospital they were worried as they couldn't find a pulse in my foot. They found a weak one and then I was on my way with blue lights flashing.
I was kept in over a week both times, and the second time it was over a week before I could walk further than the bathroom. I would not have liked to have been out after a couple of days
Both times I had clots in my lungs too.

Bright and dry here today so got out in the garden. Much Kondoing done! Wisteria given a good feed with last year's tomato fertiliser. Finished the rest on the roses and paeonys - will get a new one in the next few weeks. Cleared all the dead entwined stems from the mesh I used for my runner beans ready for this year's crop. Swept and tidied and planted some bulbs I'd forgotten about - they should be OK! Cleared my veg plot ready for planting (its only about 6x8ft) and laid the bean mesh on top so the cat from over the road can't use it as a toilet
Robin kept me company
DH washed the cars and then swept the drive. I've a few more bits I'd like to get done but they can wait till tomorrow.Oh and I planted some leek seeds and potted some broad beans seeds too.
Have a good day all xSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Putting away the last of the holiday things and persuaded DH to release a very old beach towel. He bought a replacement last year that is huge and very brightly coloured and can probably be seen from outer space :rotfl:
Have spent a happy few minutes deciding where to hang a painting (bought on holiday, not one of my masterpieces!) and the bright colours are absolutely shouting Caribbean sunshine
Have written a 'to do' list to sort out some jobs this weekend. Only Kondo-ing planned is a sweep of paperwork, which is largely under control, and an e-clear out of texts and emails.
Have done some domestic admin but need to sort 2 invoices for clients as well. One of the ladies I was home-helping has taken residence in a care home and her nearest family are 5 hours away so they have asked me to i) keep an eye on the house, ii) collect and pass on any post, iii) visit client and get any shopping or do small tasks that will make life more comfortable. Her rellies visit every 3 or 4 weeks.
After years of doing a thankless professional job I get so much more satisfaction out of my 'basic' job than ever before. I can make a difference to people. My income is very small (according to the .gov calcs we could get working tax credits!) but we have never been happier.
I do need to do some budget calcs because we are planning several staycations and hope to be able to book flights to visit our Caribbean friends again next winter. We saved hard while we were employees but the money has to top up our income and last for a good few years so it needs planning carefully.I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0
