GQ , I had that horrible cold for 6 weeks and I certainly fed it !!! Haha, my sister had it and said she felt nauseas so wasn't eating ! I eat no matter what.
Anyway I hope you soon feel better.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0 -
It's certainly a horrible one - DS1 had it early Dec, rallied a bit over Xmas (suspect lots of sleep in the school hols helped!) but has been knocked back by it again the past few weeks.
Not much stuff leaving here atm, although DS2 and DS3 revisited their clothes and books and some stuff has been rejected for various reasons - most of it has been priced up for a NNS in Feb, so will hopefully be leaving for good then! Some has been rag-bagged - also a pending bag. Not that it has made a blind bit of difference to the state of their bedrooms.....! Oh - and a batch of toys from the family room (previously the play room, previously the therapy room (when I worked from home doing massage)) has also been sorted out for fleabaying this week. If not successful on fleabay it will go to NNS at month endI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -
Sorry to hear the lurgy's that bad, GQ
you must be very strong to be even half-upright, given your ME
I'm glad you're feeding yourself.
I'm continuing with looking through this one big crate of paper that had gone a bit mouldy - just found some "letters" to me, from my niece, when she was two and a half years oldeven though they're literally scribble, of course, her mum and me are both very proud

Also still lurgy suffering (honestly, you can't have anything on your own GQ
). Lying in my bed at dads wondering what i can sneak out tomorrow. prime candidate is a large globe that i bought him years ago and has lurked upstairs for the last few, would clear some spac make no mistake. I can also see an ornamental Rovers Return teapot and a mustard jar with a face on, that I am sure the chazzer can use.
I really must get a few things out while I am here - though I think my last efforts have inspired my brothers to shift some stuff.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

I really must get a few things out while I am here - though I think my last efforts have inspired my brothers to shift some stuff.:(I'm feeling un-special and commonplace. The entire bliddy country seems to have this bug, it's gone through my call-centre like the plague since beginning of January. I'm joking about tracking down Patient Zero and having words.
Weird one last night, not long after I went to bed (must've had a temperature) I had a few minor hallucinations. One of them was an old bloke who blew me a kiss then receded vertically into the background at 100 mph! A few seconds later I realised it was the actor David Jason as Frost. WTH was that all about?!:rotfl:
Call volumes at work have been uncharacteristically low this week so mebbe half the populace are coughing too much to talk, which fits nicely with half of us being too poorly to answer them. We're turning the emails around toot-de-sweet, tho.:D
Managed to get the dishes washed and a few minor bits of Stuff picked up and put back where they belong, but that was it for yesterday. Ne'mind, worse things happen at sea.
Have a good day, folks, and may all us poorlies soon start to mend. GQ xxEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I hope you poorlies shift the lurgy soon, if only we could bag up the germs and put them out!
I had to go into the loft last night to get a suitcase for my trip this weekend - I really must sort out all the stuff up there, out of sight, out of mind. I saw two footstools up there that are now redundant so I suppose they should be the first to go. I'll get started once the weather gets a little warmer. Promise.0 -
I've got plans for the parental loft when it's warm enough to work with the hatch down, probably be April-May time now.
Was discussing with Mum as that she is beyond SABLE for yarn, perhaps we should sort out the ones which she likes best, so they're front-and-centre for use because she's never gonna knit all this yarn in her lifetime (already in her seventies). Yarn is stored in the loft, btw, in case the connection doesn't make sense.
She seemed ameniable to the idea, I spun it positively in terms of re-familiarising herself with what she owns and using the very nicest of it first. Rather than negatively, as in you bad person, you've got more yarn than a yarn shop and can't ever hope to use it all up.
Mum used to work with a woman of the same age whose old mum was an ardent knitter. When that lady finally cast off her row, they had to clear her house. It was the usual exhausting and frustrating business but the workmate consoled herself with the thought that when they eventually got to the yarn cache in her mother's loft, she would have the 'reward' of some yarn to use herself.
Mother had actually knitted through her stash and wasn't SABLE'd at all!Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Sorry to hear so many of you are so poorly - I had it back in October and it knocked me for 6. I've had a daft cough since but was advised (by the pharmacist) to take antihistamine for a couple of days and hey presto it's gone - that has made sleep so much more refreshing.
Nothing's left for a while and lots of stuff has come in (but it's all business related so it will be turned around and back out the door as soon as possible). A local free biking lady is offering up a huge stash of books so I shall be picking them up this week, picking out any that I'd like to read and the rest will get circulated around the family. I tend to pass books on as soon as they're read and stock up at bootsales during the summer....I've just finished the last book in the house so this is great timing."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. Sorry to hear everyone's sick right now! It's been awful and wet where I am (south east) for a week now and I have that slightly scratchy throat feeling which I'm hoping won't develop into anything worse. I don't get sick often but when I do, it sucks!
Small non-Kondo bright spot for me today - checked my online banking as all my direct debits come out on the first of the month, and it looks like I massively overestimated how much I'd be paying. I thought I'd have a double mortgage payment but it's actually just plus interest, and I forgot I've paid my rent (shared ownership) for the next two months in advance. This means I have an extra £400 I thought would go on bills that can go in my savings and bring them up to a nice round figure
On a more Kondo note, I moved all my clothes to my new house yesterday, minus a few bits for my overnight bag until I actually move out, and I definitely need to get rid of a lot. I only really wear the same few outfits over and over, but I have plenty of tops and dresses for Justin. For example, I realised I have seven coats and jackets! I almost always wear my big green duffel coat with the furry hood, but I also have a smart bright blue winter coat, a long beige mac, a short black mac, a (fake) leather jacket, a velvet jacket, and a grey zip up hoody.
Why have I accumulated all these coats? Because I keep thinking 'I might need this for a smart occasion' or similar, But I haven't worn the leather or velvet jackets in years, and I don't normally bother with the smart blue coat because despite being a winter coat, it has no hood or pockets. So I think I can cut down to my green duffel, the grey hoody and the black mac, and probably not notice the difference. Then I'm covered for most types of weather still as well.
This says nothing of the vast quantities of dresses. I have a weakness for dresses because I'm a short hourglass shape so they're a lot more flattering than shirt and trousers for the office, but I tend to buy on ebay and end up with a wardrobe of stuff I don't wear. Time to be ruthless about what I'll actually put on in the near future.
Also... when I split up with my ex, I lost a stone from not eating (stress) and was a svelte size 6. Now that I'm happy again, I've bounced back up to a size 8-10 and have a few outfits that I can no longer pull off since you can't see my ribs when I breathe anymore.0 -
Hugs to all you poorlies - its so horrible when you have to drag yourself round.
Finally managed to get 2 bags dropped off at the CS - one of good bedding, the other of ragging. Been in my boot for a week as the last two times I tried they wern't taking anything!
Ran out of DH's favourite grated Parmesan & the SM only seem to have piddling tubs at extortionate prices. (Last big tub bought in Aldee) I remembered I had some in the freezer so defrosted last night and put through the grater on my mixer - full tub and two bags back in the freezer for refills. Not much else achieved today so far as I've taken and collected DS1 to a hospital appointment, picked up DH from the garage when he dropped the car for MOT & service - will have to drop him back up there later when they've finished (and pay for it)
I've also been trawling local fabric shops for a friend - now have a fistful of samples for her to decide which she prefersSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0
