Argghh Santander and its Spanish Withholding Tax........ got so fed up of the messing about my accountant was doing each year, I got rid of them last year. I only had about 70 shares, the aggro was way more trouble than it was worth.
I'm starting to consider that! But in all honesty, the people they've got doing the administration now seem to be topnotch, I was given very simple, adequate answers to fill in the tax form. I now have 226 shares or something, but they're *still* less than £1k, because the share price keeps sinking :rotfl:

  • the universal joy is catching and it does spread. I am just thinking in my own world at the moment and having had a couple of rest days, I got up with new eyes and I saw the cluttering which started to appear on my kitchen surfaces and it took ten minutes to clear it all and to give the tops a quick polish. Then I saw washed bedding that has been in clear sight on the landing, guest bedding and been there for three weeks. How come I didn`t see it until this morning? I think what happens is that we block off what we don`t want to see, to bother doing

Did that new feelgood factor lead to an online order arriving afterwards? Maybe it did, some clothes, including trousers in a size smaller, all very much reduced and from a smart seller. They fitted me, wow so I have lost a size and that was the icing on the cake. I have always believed that what we give out, then we get back and maybe that is what makes MK so satisfying. The new ones will not be put away until I have taken at least the same amount out for the cs, someone will be glad of them and tomorrow I have an appointment next door to the cs, it all fits in and I will spread a little of that universal joy

Shortbird - Like some others have said, I would thank it and get rid.

Kittie - well done. Yes, I think we do close our eyes to clutter we don't want to see. I certainly do.

At the moment someone is topping our big tree, and I cannot look.

KM going quite slowly at present, stuff is not getting out of the house as quickly as hoped.

After the 'craft stash' I will have to look at the linen cupboard again. My efforts at 'organised storage' were not as successful as hoped so will have to revisit later.

    Take care everyone.

Just dropped off 5 massive bags of clothes to the various charity shops. Have kept the rag-bag and will pop that in one of those textile recycling bins dotted around when I recycle the glass. Feels good to have the space!

Kittie, you are absolutely right, I have noticed that I am keeping on top of my ironing and putting it away a lot quicker now, rather than leaving it sitting in baskets in the spare room.

I had a meeting that went a lot quicker than anticipated and it was near a TKmaxx, so I nipped in and ended up spending £60 on various things storage type things, all of which will help keep the house joyful / neat and tidy. ie, I'm replacing the handwash dispensers from the carex plastic ones from the supermarket, to beautiful glass / porcelain ones. Makes the bathroom prettier, and sparks joy for me, and less plastic to recycle! Also got a pretty girly laundry basket for my toddler as she is at the stage of enjoying (letting me help her) taking her clothes off (running across the room and ramming them in the basket) and clapping her hands when she's ready for her bath. definitely sparks joy!

os, I would love to do that with the bathroom soap dispenser but I have dozens of bars of soap, from ages ago when I did the prepping thread. Would be too wasteful to throw them out, we have a food bank container in our village, do you think they would be ok in there, they are all well wrapped up?

Did a little shuffle re the wardrobe and have decided to see what I can do with a hm and home spun top that I made soon after starting to spin, rose, pink and grey stripes, It does not give me joy but the act of making it gave me joy and being a newbie then, it is a bit lumpy and textured. Thought I would turn it into a bag and it is now in the machine, getting bumped around and being felted. We`ll see, it will either be a bag or a thick table mat

I was late getting up today, but the beautiful sunshine finally had me . Even after a late start I've washed and almost dried my darks. Hoovered through, cleaned front door and windows, cleaned downstairs loo, seen to the kitten, fed and litter changed. Cleaned kitchen cupboard fronts.
Then gone into garden and chopped down the zebra grass, and tried out my new leaf muncher!!
It's heavy but very satisfying. Oh also done my nails, whilst catching up on The Affair. Veg is prepped ready for tea, so I'm having a peruse of the Web, to find what all you lovely lot have been up to!

Today DH offered to buy me a rather lovely sarong. I asked him if he'd mind if i said, no, thanks! I explained that i have 2 that I love, do not need or want any more and would rather, if he would be so kind, have something else as a treat. He looked a bit crest fallen but was interested to know what i actually wanted. So, wait for it...........

i am now booked to go to an evening art class with cocktails and nibbles to start the event :D:D:D

I have no artistic bones in my body but i do love colours, so i contacted the host who says she caters especially for beginners :) i am so looking forward to it!

Fyi, sunburn has soothed away and I am off to the beach again shortly to catch a late swim and the sunset. Joy indeed! That is once DH wakes from his siesta:rotfl:
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

I seem to have kondoed part of my payslip :(. The lady from HR overheard me discussing dh's work situation, and realised that on the payroll I was still registered as 'sole breadwinner', and she asked me to step into her office and make the files correct (as she is required to do by law, it seems). I now pay more taxes to the tune of €300 per month :(:(:( (£255). If all goes according to plan, I should get it back as a tax rebate, but it is always easier to keep it in my pocket, than to get it out of the government :(.

    :( Oh Siebrie, that's a b*mmer.

I've been offline most of this week, due to being proper poorly with a cold. Have been going to work, but not doing a lot more than that, other than eating and sleeping and lying on the sofa reading historical novels.

Took five library books out late last week, four are a sequence, have read one and returned it two days ago, finished another and it goes back after work today, and will work my way through the rest and get them back. Then I really must crack on with the To-Be-Reads.

When I was faddling around with my stereo last week (which is a sleek ghetto-blaster type thingy, if anyone actually uses such a term these days), I ended up moving it from its roost of the past decade on the top shelf of the computer desk over onto the wall until. The To-Be-Read books are now in its old place.

Funny that they're only about six feet across and three feet higher than they were before, but somehow they're in sight and in mind and I will start in on them as soon as the five library books are finished and returned. I have my eye on two in particular, one of which was borrowed from my brother last August, to read and return to the family home where I will visit at some point in the next month.

:o Oh, and a pair of socks has been thanked and added to the rag-bag. They got all religious on me.:rotfl:

Righty, just got to kondo a cold, and all will be well in my world. Have a good day, folks. GQ xx
