    :) Evening all.

Wow, Slinky, that's a lot of shredding to do, what an achievement.

I've been at w*rk ('scuse my Klatchian) and at home doing burger-all, not feeling A1 today. Have cooked a vat of chili containing some slightly OOD tinned beans, so I guess that counts as them being kondo'd, right?;)

Spoken to the folks. Couple of bags of Stuff went to their chazzer today, plus they went into their loft and hauled out a bag-of-large-plastic bags which will be used up as kitchen bin liners. It's temporarily under the stairs in a Cupboard of Doom. A cupboard more or less on my radar for a kondo sesh anyway, but there's always been bigger fish to fry.

Was chatting with Mum about the present overflow of household linens and floated a suggestion about a bit of a reorganisation in her bedroom. I have planted the seed and will sit back and see if it flourishes. If she gives me the go-ahead, it could see quite a bit of small kipple leave their premises.

She's also managed to achieve something which I tried and failed on my last two passages through their loft; to get Kid Bruv to give away the large holdall of martial arts kit for a pastime he gave up more than 10 years ago. He's finally ready to release this stuff, thank goodness.
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I've been KMing like mad, the towels and bedlinen and anything else in the airing cupboard ... GQ was saying about 2 towels, for me it would be 3, a bath towel for me, and a hand towel at each toilet. I never thought about it that way! I thought of 6 as absolute minimum, but of course if you wash a towel its nearly dry by the end of the day, and certainly dry enough to hang on its hook again ... funny old world!

So I have a lot of towels spare. I'll never need to buy another towel as long as I live, actualy :):):) I tried this exercise a few years ago, as I found 3 towels in a vacuum bag. Left them there for now. There's also a fluffy thingy to put on the mattress - I use duvets for that now, but this fluffy thing is the only the weight of a fleece, so it will be a great curtain liner for my Cosy Corner Room :)

Pillowcases. Partly because of having them in the therapy room, I had about 30, oops ... now down to 18. I'll see how that goes.

Two sheets thrown out, they'd remind me of the therapy room.

Couple of bulky jackets ready to go to the charity shop.

MY PROBLEM: my single duvet cover has gone missing. Its just a bog standard supermarket one, and it isn't used very often :( it must be in the house, it must be, but I'm burgered if I can find it. Eventually, the one I bought to use in my parents' house will come back to me - it has a single picture of two kittens, the pic is about 2 foot wide, and they have tiaras on :):):) but in the meantime, the duvet cover is lost. Grrr. Thats why KM is needed!

I had a superday at work! Busier than ever, but lots and lots of little niggly tasks and chores done, people responding to emails quickly, taking action quickly, shredding, clearing a let-go colleague's desk and passing her personal items unto her via a colleague she's having lunch with tomorrow, booked flights and hotels (all was available and at decent prices), wrote minutes, proposed agenda, set several projects in motion.... more days like those, please!

    Morning all

I started the dreaded clothes yesterday and 47 items kondoed out of the house and gone already so I am not tempted to dive in the bag again :rotfl:44 were mine and 3 DHs  Also gone a pair of boots I never wear and a pair of shoes I also never wear.

Also a new purse out of its box and now in use to replace the one I was using with a broken zip. Why I havent used it before I have no idea :o

DH and I have agreed we do not need any clothes for years so I now feel a weight lifted as I havent even got to think about clothes. Apart from the ones for the clothes sales which I am not even going to look at not even the 150 pairs of jeans we have just had donated

Bits and pieces done this week DGD's work trousers repaired. Two defunct calculators to go to the recycle at the tip. A jacket added to the CS bag. DH had a gadget that you plug into the car to inflate tyres - it also had a large torch on the end. It stopped working so he bought a new one & asked me if I wanted the old one for the torch. I thought for a minute, my car has limited boot space and in 40 years I've never needed a torch in the car (RAC lol) so I declined! Before KM it would have been kept for Justin.
We've been invited to a diamond wedding anniversary in December and I volunteered to put some photos on a memory stick Togo on a screen at the event - I know have about 15 albums to rephotograph -about 300 photos needed I think -what possessed me!!! As the saying goes- no good deed goes unpunished lol!

having an excellent and therapeutic time clearing up & out. Took 15 items plus odd socks to M&$ recycle/reuse/recombobulate on Sunday. Have been doing lots of tidying, knicker and sock folding etc. so cupboards looking nicer (can see what's in there).

Two bags of summer clothes ready to go into loft, along with 2 bags summer bedding - have been recycling/donating as I go. Found some unopened bedding which we don't need so that's going to CS.

Got together another 20 items ready to take to M&$ at the weekend.

    Shoes/boots next......

I confess, I'm not getting rid of any of the towels or pillowcases I've "found" :) I'm taking them out of circulation and storing them out of the way, in a dust-free environment. I know there's the issue about dying in storage in various ways, using the shops to store your "stuff" etc, but personally I'm going to veer onto the Old Style side of things - money is tight, health is precarious, I have this stuff, I'm going to wear through the ones I've got out now, and take stuff out of storage as they're needed. So I have a list on the inside of the airing cupboard door as to what's on each shelf. I haven't finished - this stuff is called "misc textiles", I've decided :) but I'm three quarters done :)

I've also felt well enough to kondo some garden rubbish today, so I'm very chuffed about that!

I kondod some funds yesterday on a day out and came back with some lovely wines, breads and cheeses, would have been rude not to. And today I've kondod some surplus Christmas decs into something else far nicer (there's a picture on my home page if you're nosey).

DD1 had a chair in her bedroom that was becoming a dumping ground for stuff so I suggested she move it (it was right by the door) but she opted to get rid and popped it in the garage, about half an hour later a wanted post came up on a local FB site for a chair of the same kind, so it's been thanked and will be moving on to a new home at the weekend......it came to us via a family member who'd found it on the side of the road so it owes us nothing.
