Morning all
The kittens were fine and I was right on the boy and the other was another girl. So out of 7 cats only one male so goodness knows how many kittens that would have been if all 6 girls had had been left to do their own thingNo worries on that score now
Waiting for 2 tons of sand to be delivered to go down in the chickens area as otherwise it gets so muddy so will be shovelling for a while later on when that comes :rotfl:

Morning all
Hope everyone is as well as can be.
Saw poppy recycling bin in our saints local last night so wil, have a rummage round as there are a few lurking.
Took some glass down the bottle bank last night but forgot the bag for the clothes bank. Dd2 took a binbag of excess coats her partner needs one so will look through. Instructions are to pick one and pass the st on to a local CS shop, some were left here as unsuitable so they are going in our CS bag.
Sorted a load of crafting stuff out for Christmas decoration day so 3 bags of green wool, 200 buttons in shades of red, 30 lengths of festive ribbon and 28 CDs that have been sprayed green are all ready to leave the house.
Mended a pair of dd3s work leggings yesterday so they are ready to go back to hers, a toy I made can go in the post next time I'm passing post office (next week now) and found parts I'd cut out to make baby niece a toy so wil, get those sewn up and give to her when I next see my brother.SPC~12 ot 124

Conversation with mum:
Me - Mum, there are 7 teabg holders on the worktop near the kettle, stacked up. When I wipe worktop down I knock the tower flying. Could you let a couple (;)) go?
Mum - Well we use them. That one was my friend's. That one was a gift from so n so. Your dad likes that one. That one is a bit stained (plastic). But they are handy. And your dad uses that other one.
Me - why not keep the one from your friend and the one dad likes and give the others away? That will make wiping down easier?1
Mum - but what would we do with them? I could put them in the cupboard for now.
Me - (trying to think calm thoughts and not lose temper. Seeing anxiety on mum's face. Must. Remain. Positive.) Come on, lets get the CS bag out and add 3 or 4 (of the 7).
Mum - Do you think anyone will want them though?
Me - (who is both devious and an MSE hamper putter together-er) Oh yes, they'll be snapped up for afternoon tea hampers for xmas.
Mum - Oh, that's a good idea, yes.
So, only 3 remain due to compromise , rather than back to square one (or should that be square 7?)I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0 -

It is a matter of catching onto the mindset - in many cases there is no need to have multiple items when one (or maybe 2!) would do!! The rest are just causing chaos!!!
ETA - I have one teabag holder, plain white, bought from the Co-op for 99p years (I mean years) ago. It is very useful. Any more would be superfluous, as my grandad used to say!I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0 -
I don't have a teabag holder. I either put the bag straight in the bin, or use a saucer/small multi-purpose dish of some kind. I've never seen the need for a dedicated piece of kitchenalia just to hold used teabags.0

Small steps: one holey pair of pants washed and in ragbag.
DH went away to his mothercountry for 4 weeks, and he left with 2x23kg hold luggage, 1x7kg hand luggage, 1xlaptop bag (at a guess also 7kg) and 1 handbag.
He came back without the laptop bag, without the handbag, and with the hand luggage trolley inside the hold luggage trolley. Clothes are already washed and put away.
I had asked him not to bring us anything large, for instance tailor made dresses, because we hardly ever wear them, we still have last-time's dresses, and they take up space and need looking after (and they don't fit well, seeing how they are made on the basis of photographs and memory....). So, he brought spices, nice necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and a pair of handmade flipflops for me. A friend gave him two pieces of fabric for me, and I think I'll just leave them as they are and use as wall hangings or table coverings. Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590 -
Ive got a tea tin for keeping the new teabags in it came free a few years ago with a brand of teabags. I have a little earthenware t the used teabags go in that gets emptied into the bin BUT if its gets full when Dh is on tea making he puts a mug at the side of it and starts filling that up! Grr so there are then two pots to empty.SPC~12 ot 124

I use a plastic takeaway tub for used teabags - I cant out them straight into the compost caddy as the bags on my preferred brand (the monkey one) don't decompose and I end up with potatoes growing into the bags! I therefore empty the tealeaves from the bags into the compost caddy and throw the bags away - I usually do this once every day/ two days, depending upon how much tea is being drunk!
The takeaway tub then goes into the dw about once a week - when it gets really skanky or gets a crack in it, out it goes and a 'new' takeaway tub takes its place
ETA:
Just small kondo-ing going on here - have been using up some random foodstuffs which won't be replaced (thereby releasing the space (and reducing this month's food spends) and have recycled a large k1lner style jar where all the wiring had gone rusty - think it was an A5da cheapy. More paper has gone out this week than has come in - so that's a win (although an ongoing battle with 6 household members, 4 of which are in education, OH works for himself, I work 2 (very) part time jobs and for OH and volunteer (and have all the trustee and treasurer stuff from doing so) and we have a BTL - we are never going to have truly minimal paper!) As part of my paper sorting I have today written to close an unused current account and associated savings account - neither have ever been used and were only opened to get cashback, which I received a year ago - so can now be closed!
oooh - other stuff leaving here in the past couple of days - broken fan and hand blender, Shoebox of random stuff for Xmas appeal to Scouts tonight (mostly found round the home rather than purchased specifically) and some presents for Xmas for my OH & my children to my mum (she will be repaying me)And a book which I finished reading last night passed on to my mum today

Just shredded the oldest 1500 invoices from my business that came out of the loft the weekend before last. The archive box had 4 lever arch files with these in plus some paperwork which I've kept. The stuff I've kept fills about 2/3rd of a lever arch, so space for more of the same and 3 spare folders. There's also some CDs relating to the same thing in the box, I'll shred them tomorrow, the shredder's overheat light has come on 3 times so I think I'd better give it a rest. My invoices filled 6 photocopier boxes, it's amazing how much air gets in when you use a cross-cut shredder.
