Morning all:D
I cant believe how well everyone is doing and how much is being kondoed out of the door
It makes me so happy and I feel lighter (odd I know) hearing the progress of everyonelets hope it shows on the scales at the weigh in later :rotfl:
The bed is in place and the room sorted out new homes found for things I need to keep and another big bag of clothes and shoes waiting to go out of the door.
Result 3 empty drawersand more space with the shoe cupboard gone (which was really like a sideboard size) not a tiny shoe cupboard but thats what I called it )
I know there is clothes that still need to goThey bring joy but are not comfy or they are comfy but bring no joy :rotfl:So will see what is what when I kondo the last few lbs and then make my call
I purchased about 10 new T-shirts at the start of the summer and have NOT worn one of themSo will pack them up for next Summer and NOT buy anymore in my life
So crazy you would have thought I would have learnt by now but I havent so kick up the backside needed I think
Forgot to add the baby Rabbit who lived in my garden is still there and is now a pretty big Rabbit ! and has stayed safe from Lola and is now too big I think for her to cause any problems. It is laying full length in the garden sunning its self in the flower bed x

Not odd, I feel it too. And I'm so excited for Mrs Moneypenny - to me your house now feels so light it's about to float up off its foundations. Is your head feeling better now, Mrs MP?
Only managed to Kondo a bowl in the last few days. It broke in half so it was a very tidy breakage. Anyway, I used to have a set of six, now it's a set of 4. Anything broken at the moment will not be replaced as it will be easier to pack up everything for the work to be done if there's less of it.
Progress is slowly being made on the new kitchen design. Am taking my time as it won't be done again in my lifetime (I've told them it needs to be built to last 35-40 years!) so the layout needs to be right to suit both current and future mobility issues.
Not much energy today at the moment - was planning to do more shed this afternoon with gardener but it may have to wait until next week if things don't improve as the morning goes on.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -
Morning everyone
Been ultra-busy at work (bliddy tourists) I don't mean it really, they bring in lot of money into this very affluent area. But PITA for the locals.
A wardrobe dismantled ready to go to DD. A c-o-d in its place and partly filled with OH newly sorted photography bits. They are not going to be sold now he is having a swopping day at his photo group next month. The room looks bigger now.
Another cupboard and several suitcases sorted. Wet -suits various sizes to go to CS.
Other CS stuff sorted in to smaller carrier bags to take to CS one at a time.
Garden kodoed of loads of hedge clippings and a small tree.
Salad leaves sowed for the next few weeks of lettuce. Local hedge rows plundered of blackberries all sitting in my freezer. They don't pick in this area they are a bit posh. Very nice people, but are more likely to go M&S for their fruit. More for me.:j
Final word on the t-set. My DD's hate it, it’s the wrong colour, my family only wanted it because they thought it was worth something. So some small plates have gone to the local charity tea room. The t-pot is filled with dried grasses and sitting in the middle of my table. Two other plates have gone through the dish washer after been used for some rather yummy HM cake and survived. Not sure what to do with the cups yet as no-one here drinks tea and coffee comes in big mugs in this house.
Looking forward to GQ home visit.
Hope everyone is fit and moving the kondoing forward.
Onwards and upwards.

wortwell done on your konvert' and good luck with your op. I'm sure you'll find plenty to entertain you here. Mavymoo I can so relate to the t shirts. I'm always like chesty mcbusty in those high neck ones I have to find scoop or v neck. But I don't learn. I expect I'll be KM ing to CS b4 Summer's end. It's obviously on - going process for me rather than the one off MK describes or maybe I'm not doing it right!‘One of our greatest freedoms is how we react to things’ said Mole.Cross stitch cafe TaDa Enjoy the Little Things &Love cats, ‘A Year in the Life of’ HSC July-December and The Seasons graphic sampler. Pressure cooker washed and photographed to be offered on FB if DD doesn't want it. I was able to locate the instruction book instantly as I filled a blank polypocket book with instruction manuals / guarantees when I did the paperwork - I doubt my ability to identify exactly what device I have online so I adjusted KM's guidelines to suit my way of working.
Shed some more papers on the way past, which was a bonus.
That is a whole shelf in the kitchen fitment empty now. Woohoo!
Looking at my winter clothes, I have bought 6 items that I know I will wear and love, and have sent many more into the CS bag. I can't love a blouse that I hate ironing, so I have bought 3 poloneck thin jumper/underlayer thingys that don't need ironing. Yay!I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Afternoon all.
Glad to hear about the rabbit and love the image of it sunbathing amongst the flowers. Too cute.
I've proabably kondo'd some llbs due to the extreme heat, it really is too much for comfort. I will be popping out later to get some plants and take them to the lottie, but that will be after 6pm when I am hoping it will be a bit cooler.
Nipped into my pal's shop's cellar and emptied the last things from the crate. It was a half-used bottle of lemonade, two half-used bottles of white wine, and a bottle of s. comfort from about 30 years ago with about 1 inch left in it. The wine had been down there for so long that horrible sludge had formed in the bottom of the bottles.
No one felt [STRIKE]suicidal [/STRIKE] err adventurous enough to taste these beverages, so I poured them down the sink and the bottles are now all in recycling. Shows you what you can achieve in a week or so by just pecking away at it a bit at a time.
Nearly bought some small kitchen accessory in the chazzer but put it back and spent 25p on a DVD instead which I will watch and donate.
Gotta keep on keeping on, kondo-ing at parental home cannot really commence until Sat PM but I will keep you updated throughout the weekend. Just home Mum isn't in a resistant mood.:rotfl:Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

If only DD's rabbits were content to sunbathe amongst the sunflowers... though I imagine actually having some sunflowers might help with that. However, there are flowers aplenty and bushes and wild scrub and an expanse of grass with tall trees for shade, but are they impressed? No. They are absolutely determined to Dig Their Way Out. They've already been next door, and to the garden next door to that, and even into the one next door to that, and their last repatriation involved 3 neighbours, two enthusiastic g/kids (mine) and one weary grandma (me.)
There is hope. DD found the escape route and it has been filled with bricks, rubble and even cement. But I am never letting them loose again when I am in sole charge...
Wouldn't mind, but apparently they used to live in a terraced backyard with no grass, so you think they'd be grateful for a fairly large garden, but no, clearly these are aspirational rabbits aiming for their ultimate freedom.
Quiet here on the kondo front compared to everyone's victories, though the 6-a-day strategy is working on the hall heap and it has shrunk to knee height. DD likes the new space in the bedroom and says I can now run to the bed and jump into it. Sounds a bit too energetic for me though I might scuttle into it a bit quicker in December.
Hope you are enjoying the sunshine. This feels like August should - a bit lazy, a bit too warm, but thoroughly lovely.“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -
I am damn sure I went to cash for clothes, the tip and dropping off various things to peoples houses and having just sat down for tea, I am surrounded by more piles of stuff than I started with! How does that work?
Maybe I should explain that the piles are actually the next phase of stuff that need sorting. I am still hoping for a big dent by Christmas and have one more week off to make a big dent!Don’t put it down - put it away!

Snap GQ!! I was tasked by a client to sort out the understairs cupboard of doom at her house. The lady has mobility problems and this cupboard was rather neglected.... there were at least 12 bottles of partly consumed liquids that had markedly discoloured, cloudy or generally gunky. Pouring down drain and recycling commenced! Plenty of items to corall together, re-home in more accessible places, and a good clean! So I missed all the sunshine here today.
I then took a bag of komono to CS for client, along with one from me!
So good results all round.
My final job of the day was getting in a big load of washing for another client and I kondo rolled all towels and kondo folded all t-shirts.
Bliss.:):)
