KonMari 2016 - The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up
Comments
-
I have kondoed a handbag to dd who popped round this afternoon and said her bag was starting to wear away. She looked a bit surprised when I went upstairs and came back with a choice of two handbags.
I cooked some crustless quiches to use up eggs and odds and ends in the fridge and gave dd some to take back. I sorted out the huge COD and tidied through the bedding in there and then put things away in my new slimmer and taller COD in my bedroom. I still have some books and things to sort through in my bedroom which I will try to finish in the morning before doing a quick hoover, dust, mop around and kitchen tidy.
I have not suddenly become mega houseproud but dd's in laws might be popping over in the afternoon for a cup of tea so I need to make an effort.

Well I KMd the park on dog walk. An empty bottle of something beginning with a Lam**, a MaccyD's cup, at least 5 water bottles, couple of cans and cardboard. I think it's looking better apart from the slug army on the grass. Yeuch my leat fav minibeast. Just wiped the kitchen down and threw a couple of thins away in process and started a shopping list. No hot water again at the mo so boiling kettles for hot water. Enjoy your day, looks like a bright one at the moment!:o‘One of our greatest freedoms is how we react to things’ said Mole.Cross stitch cafe TaDa Enjoy the Little Things &Love cats, ‘A Year in the Life of’ HSC July-December and The Seasons graphic sampler. Sorted washing yesterday and knickers all folded neatly a la MK! Got DH's folder for his trike out as his insurance is due & noticed I still had a folder marked Caravan. We Kondo'd the Caravan in May. All contents now shredded and folder in recycle bin. I have another HUGE item to kondo - my car lol! I've bought a small sporty model that gives me very great Joy as I really don't need a large saloon now there's just two of us. I cleared out the boot of old car - there is no room for all the bags, cool bags, gribble in the new one ( new to me - not new) so some serious Kondoing to be done!
Hope the weather has calmed down for all and enjoy your Sunday xSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Contents of one file in with another and the whole file will be gone after next year's tax return done. Shame, want it gone now!
Nothing else done yesterday and going for a day out with OH today for a change as we need some down time together. Kondoing and jobs will still be there tomorrow.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -

Finally getting round to digesting Spark Joy after a bit of a kondo hiatus.
Sold some bits of furniture on eBay a few weeks back and also got rid of a huge suitcase that was a pain in the behind to haul around. Other than that there has not been much progress.
Was so inspired by the book my impulsive side decided wouldn't it be great to start at the beginning again with clothes
This morning at 9 am my bed was covered in a mound of clothes that looks like it's never gone through the KonMari process
Just been through all the tops and having a quick break before continuing with bottoms. It's difficult because I am between sizes at present so I am struggling to let go of some smaller stuff that doesn't fit yet. I have divided tops into current wear and things that don't fit yet. I think I will go through the smaller things and keep a weeks worth of items so I don't end up having to go starkers but haven't got heaps of stuff sitting in drawers not being used.
Right, back to the trousers and skirts. I'm consoling myself that the pile is at least a lot smaller than the first time I did this."Does it spark joy?" - Marie Kondo

I thought I would need to buy another set of drawer organisers and had them in a basket ready to buy online with other stuff. I have sorted out my bedroom, filled the new chest of drawers neatly using things I already have and don't actually need more organisers:j
Having sorted out bedding and table linen etc. in the older bigger COD I was surprised when I needed a couple of pretty tray clothes and found them right away.
The house now looks much better - any guddle has been slung into the integral garage till I get time to sort it out properly and the door has been locked. I still need to get curtains shortened (dds do not buy the argument that the curtains pooling on the floor is "designer"!I also need window blinds for downstairs but I am starting to feel much more at home and relaxed here.

Two cold drink containers out, and one that sparks joy retained.
I feel a slight cooling in the weather, so next weekend will go through my suitcase of autumn & winter clothes, and any which are past it / no longer spark joy will be thanked and sent on their way.0 -
Some non recyclable stuff into wheelie. 2 more things gone on fr**cycle. And a boot load of stuff going to recycle center tomorrow. Going to try and persuade OH to dump PC monitor thats been lurking in a shed for far too long now:o

The only KM part of my day is that I organised a large basket for Christmas presents. I then went to the antique emporum looking for just the right table. Well no luck with the table yet but I bought 4 presents and a very pretty set of glasses that will be gorgeous filled wìth goodies and çèllophàned. Nothing cost more than £17, mòst were ĺess than £12. Recycling at best
:)
