Just come down from the attic! But I've achieved loads.
I've moved a load of stuff ds1 mostly empty boxes (grr) from stuff he's bought recently. Got all but the cabinet of the stereo down. And I've been through some really heavy big boxes to find they are full of old magazines, they have all been moved over to near the hatch so that on my next day off I can back them all for recycling. That means I'll be working on paper again. Yes it does keep pulling me back.
I also found in amongst a box of old broken teen tat and jewellery the charm bracelet with some real sixpences on that mil and late fil had made for dd2 that she thought she'd lost.so major woo there.
    Off to prep food now.

    :) Evening all.

I've been driven back indoors by the rain and thunder, but whilst I was out for a couple of hours a freegle pick-up happened from the outdoor hidey-hole and a lovely thank you card was left, which was appreciated.

:D I have kondo'd 30 strawberries off the allotment plants and into my tummy tum tum. Very nice they were, too.

Have messaged another freegler who was a tiny bit too late asking for the item which has gone today, as I have something a bit similar which I'd also like to see the back of, so I'm giving them first refusal, seems a fair way to proceed, they can only say no thanks.:rotfl:

It's great to hear how well everyone is doing on their kondo adventures and how things are ebing dragged out of places where they've laired for decades and being re-homed.

I've had a few more ideas about things which I can haul out of crannies and freegle/ recycle, some of which will go in the next few weeks.

:o I have succumbed to a small acquistion, a smallish red willow basket, red willow being my most favourite kind of basket of all time. Only £2 from the chazzer and just what I was looking for - chuffed.

    Containers = contaigous.:rotfl:

Lessonlearned, what a backstory, i was very moved and really pleased to read that you are now feeling serene, happy and content. Finding the best diet to help those conditions must be a major help. As the Americans may say, you go girl!

MrsMP, once again you put me to shame!!

I visited my friends this morning for a coffee and a chat. Unfortunately one of them is truly living on borrowed time - we have known about it for a few months. It certainly brought home to me how much I value and must treasure my loved ones (as did LL's post). Not much you can really say in the circs so I kondo'd some HM jam for when he can only eat a bit of toast, and a huge hug.

I simply cannot compete with the real pro's on this forum but I did weed out quite a few emails and texts from various gadgets this afto :). Ooh, I also put my hands straight onto some docs I have been asked to copy for research purposes - I was very pleased at that - they were just where they should logically be so I scanned and emailed straight away, job done.

Made a scrummy low carb lunch for another friend, and we chatted for a couple of hours. That brought me great joy. GQ, i have strawberry envy!!

Now I must go and write a list for packing for forthcoming trip which includes self-catering in Scotland and a side trip to friends in the north east of England. It will definitely be joyful AND I shall take a number of small gifts for adults and kids, so that reduces the [STRIKE]clutter[/STRIKE] stash some more! :D

Have a joyful and thankful evening,

    M

I just picked 1.7kg of strawberries from my kitty - would have been more but Mr & Mrs Blackbird have had their beaks in a few big juicy ones!

Fab post LL, how wonderful that you have found joy in your different circumstances. I'm very impressed by how your diet has improved your IBS, GORD and Fibro!
Jealous of the strawberries, though I don't really want any as I react hideously to almost all fruit. Makes a healthy diet tricky

I have finished a mohair blanket for a friend, so that will be leaving tomorrow. I haven't done much else as the CFS decided to kick in big time today so I had 4 hours worth of naps by 2pm. Thanks to the kondo'd kitchen I still managed to cook healthily :)

Just started- done my first London- clothing sweep which has resulted in 3 bags of clothes and 2 boxes of shoes and accessories going to charity shop. I kept everything for years and when looking through the clothes there was so much that I will never wear again and the kids will never wear again. Some of the stuff had staining or looked grubby and other stuff was so old fashioned or outdated. It felt good to clear out and re squire what brings me joy

Cut off's returned AND they refunded me for the phone - one happy bunny! Not much else done as we were invited to a birthday get together. Thought I'd have a full day to morrow but just come home and found puss cat has scratched her neck raw after wearing a cone for nearly 3 weeks so we're back to square one and another visit to the vet. Can't see whats irritating her so much :(

Hello everyone, have been AWOL for a while...... Holiday in Barcelona, son's wedding. Etc.

KARMACAT - missing you on the millionaires thread. :rotfl: only 12 weeks or so till you retire, how exciting. I think you will love it.......you will have time for you......

I am learning to travel alone, I'm getting out and about and have started planning my future and deciding what I actually want out of life. I am serene, happy and content.

Just take it easy as you approach your run up to retirement, you don't need to make any big decisions straight away, in fact I would advise against it. Time enough yet to decide what you want. Just spend some time "catching up with yourself".

Karma. Feel free to pm me - even if it's just for a bit of a chat.
:hello: Hi! I didn't have anything to contribute to the Millionaires Thread currently, LL :o:o:o between family catastrophes and my illnesses, millionairing had to take a back seat :( I'm dying to start the paleo diet, but kondoing is what I can cope with right now - today, I was doing jewellery, which was useful since I hadn't put away the jewellery from my Scottish trip for the wedding :p

Will pm you :) LL :)

And before I did the jewellery, before I even had my breakfast, I was doing some of this too - I went through my phone with a very deliberate Sparking Joy approach, and deleted several message threads and several contacts. It made me really, really happy :j

More long, weedy grass kondoed today too, and it smells of cat pee! The cats have been going crazy at the far end of the garden, all 35 feet of it! They're obviously happy, but I'm not, so I put a stop to it :)

    Morning all
Hope everyone is as well as they can be.

MMF, the reason I 'do so well' is because I've started off with sooo much more than the rest of you.
It was a bit of an eye opener to go round one of DHs work colleagues on the way back from helping dd2 move. We were saying how exhausting it was. She laughed and said well you created the monster where do you think she learned hoarding. She's been round our house a couple of times and said she doesn't know how we live with so much stuff. Whoops that's me told then. She was right of course we have joked in the past that we were one step away from being on a hoarder programme as decluttering never worked no matter how hard we tried or how often we did it.
Lightbulb moment was this thread, Dh constantly putting up shelves and cupboards and buying more bookcases is NOT the answer kondoing is.
I am getting there now and don't miss any of the stuff that's now leaving as I'm doing it properly.
I have 4 rolls of council brown paper and card recycling bags I'm hoping that my foray into the loft tomorrow to address the boxes and piles of papers I've earmarked to come down will use all of those up. I love it when the recycling men comment on how much I leave out for them. Recent exasperated comment was from one piling my stuff up across the road "surely to Chris she's emptied the house by now!'

I'm busy all day today but will catch up later.
Be joyful in something you achieve today.
