It is with heavy heart that I write this post. But I thought you might want to know that dear IQueen passed away just over a week ago
    ......
She said she was still feeling joyful - lets go with that

So sorry to read this, thank you for passing the news on VJsmum, I never met iQueen but had a great deal of respect for her and kind of felt I knew her because of the posts she made on the kondo threads.

Oh, !!!!!!! Meant to say "Do it NOW - tomorrow may be too late!
    iqueen. RIP:A

I hope all are as well as can be.
Went to the boot this morning and bought some lovely cottage garden plants that will bring joy.
Bench was delivered on Saturday and is as good as we thought it would be.
Dh has just put up a blind in the room we are moving ds2 into so hopefully that will spur us into getting it Kondoed over the halfterm break ready for the move round.

    Enjoy your day all. X

I hope GQ hasn't worked herself to a standstill... I have 2 hours till visitors arrive and am shattered. I got most of the grass cut, and have got lots of little bits done, but there's still a lot to do. At least the spare bedrooms and bathroom are done. My room is improving. Kids room is full of drying rag rugs on the electric airer as it keeps threatening to rain (these are the last -I washed them all and need to decide what goes back.

Downstairs, apart from the loo, is still chaos...

:D Many a true word spoke in jest. I am completely cream-crackered and have been hanging out with Mum in the sitting room knitting and nattering. The Queen of Sheba is assisting Mum in resting by the simple expedient of sitting on her lap. The other family cat, Wild Thing, is out.

In the rain, the silly beggar. But that's where she chooses to be.

Dad is getting things together for a dump run tomorrow inc his ancient and very battered pushbike and some bits of glass, plus the shopper full of dead electrical bits & bobs inc Nan's defunct and now replaced toaster.

I have more or less assembled my goods and chattels for the return journey on the coach this evening and will be back home just before 10 pm. Gonna be a tired little bunny at w*rk tomorrow.

Just went to peep at the contents of The Cupboard and it's lookin' good, folks, lookin' good.

Hope you can get a break and a bit of rest before your visitors arrive.

    Thought you might be tired...

I'm going to make one last effort and try to sort the hall out, so at least the first impression is good!

GQ, I wish we could have seen before and after pics. I know it must look so very much neater and considerably less cluttered...especially the floor. What a good and sweet thing to do for your parents. They must love you to pieces for your efforts!

:) They do - and I'm sure they're relieved I live an hour away and don't have a car so don't pop over and kondo their place at random. I visit about every 6 weeks or so and usually find something to sort out.

I just kind of ran out of steam but I have been quite busy and I do have ME and didn't sleep brilliantly last night, either.

Hope you're not too tired to enjoy your visitors, greenbee.

I remember a quote some famous person (so famous I've forgotten who she was) said one of her rather posh grandmothers came out with:

Just arrange the flowers nicely, darling, and no one will notice the dust.

Other tactics including dining by candlelight and sticking an alcoholic beverage into a guest's hand as soon as decently possible.

I approve of both those tactics GQ, especaally the alcoholic drink :D Only joking. Though I did put some red wine in the Bolognese that's currently cooking, and then put the rest into a glass (it was one of those mini-bottles that holds one glassful.)

How sad to hear about iQueen. She was an inspiration. Sending ((HUGS)) to VJsmum and to Mavvymoo xx

I think I'll tell DS about her message - he's the king of procrastinators.
