Gosh what sad news about iQueen. ......and I was only thinking about her yesterday.
Today has been spent in the garden. Needed a top up of vit D. So tried out a few niggle jobs, managed to cut all the lawns and started making a large south facing herbaceous border even bigger. .......my aim is to keep kondoing the lawn little by little :rotfl:Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Thank you for letting us know about iQueen, such a positive and kind message for her to send on to us.
MMF, that sounds a wonderful holiday - and extra encouragement to count our blessings and be aware of our joy.
Today I went to a workshop and my ME is going to be fierce and annoyed with me tomorrow, but as the tutor was over from Austria I decided to grab the chance. There's even been enough space and energy to get the sewing machine out, making the most of this energy spike
I feel v v lucky to be in the situation I am in, partly in the welfare state for catching me when I took very ill, in having a secure (well, as close to secure as you get) roof over my head and that this thread and you lovely people have helped me find joy in even the most useless days. I have no doubt that without this community, I would be recovering less quickly - joy is my best medicine!
Kondoing wise, I'm probably approaching the maintenance stage. Unless ofc I decide to start sorting the communal gardens....:AStarting again on my own this time!! - Defective flylady! :A0 -
So sorry to hear about iQueen - her message is definitely one to take to heart.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

I'm very sorry to hear about iQueen, I enjoyed her posts very much.
Her 'do it NOW' is absolutely right, and yesterday, that is just what I did: I weeded, I mended, dh ironed, I went through dds' T-shirts boxes and removed about a third, found a hanging light in the attic that will replace the unjoyful I.kea one we have on the landing now, put the left-overs from the 'oil drum packing' on their way back to the attic. DH cleared and cleaned the upstairs, and managed to burn the vacuum motor (grrr! not the kondoing I had in mind!).
DD1 did some crafts, I hope that after the next crafting session, the bits and bobs that are currently in two boxes, will fit into one.
An 'in the night garden' floor puzzle was put on its way to the attic for donation. The box is long gone, dds don't really play with it, why is it still in our cupboard?Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590 -
I've got about 6 hours to get the house (and ideally garden) ready for my visitors. And buy some food (at least enough to feed them tonight/tomorrow morning.
There still seems to be quite a bit to do. Including a LOT of hand washingand mowing and other gardening. So I guess I should get a move on...

Goodness, I've been on holiday for a week and couldn't believe how many pages I had to catch up on - heaven help anyone starting this thread from the beginning!
I have laughed at GQ's reports, marvelled at Greenbee's huge works on the house and admired the energy and determination you are all showing. And then I read VJsmum's post about iQueen, and shed a tear. Thank you iQueen for your wise contributions to this thread, I'm glad you discovered the joy of having fewer possessions and thank you for that motivational last statement - do it now.
The house needs cleaning, the garden is in dire need of attention but I'm going to interpret that message slightly differently. I'm about to put on my trainers and go for a walk in the nature reserve before lunch with friends. Because life is short and should be celebrated and the house and garden will wait. Have a good day, everyone, whatever your plans.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0 -

It's a possibility, but I think it's too low (old fashioned beds are high). I expect there will be a LOT of furniture moving going on this week! I'm also vaguely thinking it could go in the all, as gym/running/walking stuff will be just as useful there!
Despite moving from a small 3 bedroom house to a large 4 bedroom one a couple of years ago I still seem to be short of space. There are NO cupboards or wardrobes in this house, and the position of windows and eaves in the bedrooms makes them very restricted on space.0 -
