We have to decide what to ultimately do with it, but for now will dig it over. A friend said "that's a fantastic space, you could put a summer house in there". NO NO NO  It would just become another shed, full of carp.

Is it an area you'd like to sit in? Could you put in a patio and pergola so you have a sheltered area but that isn't somewhere you can store anything in apart from a table and chairs?

Another 43 items left the house today. Unfortunately 17 of them were so small they fit in my pocket (packets of tiny beads - took them to cs which was appealing for craft items last month). Don't know whose they were or when they were acquired - in amongst the sewing stuff that came from mum's (some may have been grandma's). I know mum's cousin had a phase of decorating t-shirts with them.

No point thinking that might be something I would like to try - only definite projects allowed from now on. I don't like things on t-shirts generally so I won't start now. Compensated for small giveaways by using 3 items to fill 2 bin bags (with a little household rubbish too).

:) Due to re-organisation of the shelves on the wall-unit, I have managed to get all 26 books to-be-read in a line. This is better than their previous positions on three smaller shelves and one vertical stack. It also separates them out from things like my address book and a couple of in-use notebooks.

I find it helpful to have a very obvious way of keeping track of things. I have discarded 4 books from the to-be-reads as I held them and thought about them and decided that I didn't feel joyous about the prospect of reading them. They are now in a chazzer bag.

I also re-organised the three small drawers in the same unit and have discarded some things and got some other things ready for recycling. And I've found drawer space for the sellotape dispenser which was sitting out on the unit. I don't use sellotape every day, even, why do I need to have this under my eye all day?

I'm really coveting clear surfaces, they are making me happy.

Thrilled to be saying goodbye to a heap of clothes, and hello to a nice pile of cash! The goods to be sold on the bay have been cluttering up my handbag hanging space at the side of the wardrobe.
Today I repurposed one of those "belt/scarf multihangers" I snapped off the metal hanger, leaving the set of hooks, then glued it to the side of my dresser with 'no more n@ils' now I can now hang necklaces and my hairdryer on it.

Wardrobe is here - it was put in the garage where I washed it thoroughly (well, hopefully thoroughly...) and have applied nearly a whole pot of furniture polish to it, which it has pretty much absorbed.

There has obviously been water damage at some point, some of the veneer needs sticking down, and there are lots of scratches, but I don't care. I love it :) And it fits perfectly.

Now I've got to empty my bedroom by Monday...

:T Sounds fab, greenbee. Did you check the back of the carcase in case of woodworm holes? Might be an idea to treat any you find, they'd probably be ancient history, but a live infestation isn't something to risk bringing indoors.

I have a vague recollection that you can fill in scratches in dark woods by rubbing them with a brazil nut - shelled.

I've just cleared the decks in the kitchen of the last 8 hours' worth of dishes and all is now orderly and countertops nearly bare in there, which is a lot better than it normally is.

No sign of any woodworm (I know what that looks like... most of the rest of my furniture has had it at some point :o)

sounds like your kitchen is a haven of tranquility. Unlike mine. My plans for tonight involve a glass of wine in front of the fire, a bath and an early night in preparation for packing up my bedroom...

And today's prizes go to ... ..... well everyone ! but a special round of applause from me to GoingToDoIt for the fab idea for re-purposing and repositioning the belt multi hanger thing. I love that idea and will [STRIKE]nick[/STRIKE] use it myself :D Thank you.

When I cleared DH's pile of stuff up yester I stood looking round the room, small as it is, and thought we could use a little bit of vertical storage. It wouldn't stand much due to small dimensions but it definitely needs contemplating.

I love the sound of the wardrobe greenbee. It has got me thinking. We have a shabby not chic cheap wardrobe (wish I had not got rid of the solid wood auction buy years ago) in a tricky space (sloping ceiling where a beam crosses and all recessed at the end of the stair head). I shall plan some forays to check out old furniture because I want something joyous! :)

Platters etc awaiting victuals, HM sausage rolls cooling on rack - wanted something else savoury as well as sandwiches/wraps and haven't made saus rolls for years. Hell , if we're going to eat cream cakes we might as well have these too!! In my defence I have also got the makings of a lovely fruit salad :rotfl: My money is on a clean kondo sweep of all goodies before about 4pm tomorrow!

    Thanks MMF007
I think it looks better than it sounds- ike@ dark wood drawers, threw away the bottom drawers to make a "dressing table" then glued the black belt hook on the side, so virtually all the same colour.
This is why I have no drawerspace!

Large bag of paperbacks to CS yesterday and some embroidery transfers I am NEVER going to use....taken me over 20 years to come to that conclusion and just for good measure I threw in a top that I bought from CS last year - have worn it a couple of times but the sleeve cuffs annoy me so back it went. Today is getting stuff sorted for a charity sale next weekend. I am going to get it all bagged and boxed up and stored in what is now an empty shed waiting to be demolished - so if all goes to plan, next weekend a whole lot of stuff will go - if it all sells that will be 150 items and a bit of cash for me. What doesn't sell will go straight to charity shop and the shed will be dismantled and made into fire wood:j
