  • Had a bit of a result.

With the receipt I got at Kwik Fit it had a 'please give feedback' note attached with the contact details of the area manager. Had a bit of a moan about the sky high prices there and had a call back saying a check will be out in the post to me for the difference between my local main dealers price and the price I paid as something was certainly amiss.

So although it's not great having been done in the first place and still paying main dealers prices at kwik fit I am certainly happy they have tried to put it right. And at this time of year getting over £100 back I was chalking up to an expensive lesson is very much appreciated. So on that front kudos to them.

Vauxhall are doing brakes for £249
Your main dealer is doing it for £189
And kwikfit have sent you a cheque for over £100

I believe one of the three.

Not quite sure what you're getting at, give Eden Vauxhall in Newbury a ring about their prices for brakes if you like! Not sure why they're cheaper than on the Vauxhall website (I guess that's a max price?) but certainly learned my lesson to give the dealer a ring first and not assume they'll always be the most expensive.

He has been posting on the thread all night not just following you about.

He has been posted immediately after me on several threads tonight.

As he has been doing recently on other threads.

    Just trying to be argumentative.

Which is why he is on my ignore list.

Though I suspect he has made a complaint so I don't know how many of my replies still exist.

And I am not concerned enough about it antics to check

He is or hung more than a troll that want to start arguments and also posts in multiple names.

Well, yes he had been on this thread earlier, but even then his second post contained reference to bigjl even though they hadn't posted anything. Then when he does BykerSands jumps straight onto it trying to get a bite.

Have a look at some of the other threads on here and it is obvious that BykerSands has, for whatever reason, some sort of problem with bigjl and is trying to wind him up.

It's getting quite boring now, at least DM's trolling was occasional amusing.

I am glad I was not the only one noticing RichardD1970.

Disagreements and lively debate is one thing.

Stalking is something else entirely and ruins the forum

I suspect BS was just trying to intimidate me into not posting.

Which is not beneficial to the forum or the threads.

The Masterfit price on the vauxhall website will be a uniform price GB wide. It may even have some element of commision or a booking fee for the site operator. As with all things there are regional variations to prices depending on overheads, local competitors, greed of business owners and so on.
Hence the lacal Vauxhall dealer being a good price.
Tesco prices vary from region to region on goods too for no other reason than to screw as much margin as deemed realistic.

It's why most manufacturer fixed price servicing on cars is not always the best way to go.

Glad you got it sorted. You will feel much happier now, I know I would.
