No, there's a standardised suite of tests.NathanMorgan wrote: »how do these tyre manufacturers grade the fuel efficiency on the tyre label.
Using the Michelin PS3 for example has a grade F. Doesn't it all depend on the driver in regards to the tyre fuel efficiency?

You want to put money on that?

Sure, no reputable vendor will touch the TOTALLY iffy end of the by-the-container chod, but I'll bet you that the £30 random-brand end of Camskill's range is still comically bad. Maybe no lethally bad, but still... For the relatively small saving over reputable lower-price stuff, they're somebody else's bargepole. If they were on a car I was buying, I'd be budgeting for four new tyres straight off.
I said there are not many. Not that they don't exist.
My Berlingo has two unnamed ditch finders on it and they don't slide about in the wet and activate the ABS at the slightest hint of braking.
Yes they are not the best. But they are not as bad as some tyres I have experienced.
LingLing where laughable when they first entered the UK market but they are unlikely to be that bad today.
Ghana is filled with Chinese tyres of dubious quality. ChenShin and LingLong are at the top end of the Chinese tyre market. With many people happy to drive on anything that will hold air, even if the tyres are slightly different sizes on each corner.
They don't automatically crash every time they see a corner or rain. Or indeed mud.
I wouldn't even consider buying a tyre from Alibaba though.
Will my Berlingo stop and steer better with a set of brand new Michelins?
Certainly.
Though I didn't actually say to buy the cheapest possible tyres from Camskill or Alibaba.
I always thought Nexen where Korean rather than Chinese, maybe I am wrong on that.0 -

I ran a V6 Mondeo on Falken tyres without any problems.0 -

Falken are decent enough.
Though in a little fast "Fiesta" (not a Focus as I said before, lol) I would be tempted to go for Toyo Proxes T1R.
They are a well priced tyre and grip well even when compared to much more expensive competition.
Or the Yokohama Parada?
They are not hugely expensive.
Hankooks and Kumhos are also both very good.0 -

It was Falken on a fiesta he asked about.
You're a fine one to pull people up on detail and spelling.0 -
Last time I got tyres I looked on blackcircles.com and compared them, then I called a few garages in the area to see if they could beat the black circles price. I can't remember what I went for now but they had A ratings for fuel efficiency, road noise and driving in wet weather. they cost me £50 each. I think they were goodyear efficient grip or something like that!0
