  • Thanks for that chanie, had a wee look & there are some great wee deals on there.

Just wish I had more money to spend.

I got a great wee deal on Harris Tweed bags on Itison, if anyone is interested in that nip on & grab a bargain.

  • The Ren sets on space are pretty good value. Used Togo in there a lot when philosophy was hard to get hold of, they always stocked it.
Radley and Papwrchase have pretty good sales on. Only problem is I tend to get things and end up keeping them for myself instead of presents! So must try to avoid that.
We are now nearer Christmas than we are the beginning of the year. Woo. 15th and 16th of this year QVC have their US Christmas shows. And even though I can't order from them I'll be watching online ;) our one is 25th and I'll be watching that too. I'll have finished work for maternity leave then and babysitting husband after his op. So it's a good excuse to sit with the tv all day.

Hi everyone, I've caught up on the posts but don't have time for the replies as it's a DS2 visit weekend from his residential home so will do do some updates another time. But must ask what is The Ren and Togo, Itson and Space nk as I've never heard of them?
  • I am exactly the same! One for them two for me :p

Not sure that's how Christmas shopping is supposed to go.

  • Angela..
Space NK is a high end cosmetic store. Not very main stream things like you'd find in Boots or similar. Ren is a brand they carry. "Togo" is my phone messing up and mis-typing "to go".

Hello- still here but not on the computer so much- easier to phone!!
8 weeks down the line from operation.
Can now stand upright! but knee bend is not 90 degrees (the gold standard!-may never be as leg was previously so stiff and therefore muscles not used.)
Knee still aches a bit but am walking better (with stick)
Dogs came home after a 6 weeks stay in kennels- my boy was overjoyed, my girl took a look and then walked off!!! They seem happy to be home.
Whilst I couldn't drive used the local buses to get to leisure centre and also Grimsby. Now driving.
Still swimming, and I think that has helped enormously.
Another appt with consultant in 6? weeks- to see progress on this knee and discuss the other one!
One of the worst things was those compression socks for 6 weeks- at least the weather was not scorching!!
Started sewing duvets again but can't sit for too long (and flex foot at that angle) so they are coming along but slowly!!

Hope everyone is well and enjoying this weird hit and miss summer weather!!
Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

    Hi everyone

Mum2one, I hope there weren't any holiday dramas for you and Miss H.

You've had a very hard time lately and sorry to hear there has been more problems too with that other family.

Katiehound, glad to hear the operation is over and you're slowly starting to be on the mend - and starting your duvets again.

I seem to have had a really busy year yet can still remember last Christmas as though it was a few months ago. On that subject next month my friend and I (the one who was at my house for Christmas) we're going to review food lists and begin early because she was doing last moment shopping Christmas Eve to bring to my house then return a few hours later with even more (drinks, cheeses etc)

Any of you into geocaching? It's my latest hobby.

I just had DS1 on a visit, DS2 this week, International Balloon Fiesta at the weekend.

Anglea. I'm doing the same. Going through food books and magazines and getting ideas together.
But as I've been doing a bit of Christmas shopping online lately (got myself a new pre lit monster size tree, new napkins and table runner and just ordered nice big hessian present sacks..at this time of year they're all dirt cheap!) and Christmas present shopping too..I thought I'd go the while hog and have an August Christmas Day.
I've dragged down all my Christmas magazines, recipe books and note books and am going through making plans.

Still being good and adding 2 or 3 long life items to each shop to put away for Christmas. So drinks, chutneys, biscuits, chocolates..
But also for the first time thought I'd have a go at my own chutneys. I have a million recipes and always meant to, now I'm on maternity leave I have the time to play about and do it. Found 12 big lock lid Kilner jars online really cheap, they just arrived, so planning what to try first. I have a massive crab apple tree in the front garden as well as regular apple trees in the back. So found a spiced crab/apple chutney recipe that I think will be my test run :)

Also been making a load of soaps again. Everyone says they'd make nice presents. So they might be stocking fillers for people yet. Again, because I suddenly have loads of extra time. Loving it. Wish I knew how to put up a photo of the ones from last night but I'm clueless. Quite proud of them considering I've only just started.

    Feeling quite giddy and festive.

Hmmm. Maybe this will work. I am completely clueless about how to do this. So if not, ignore me completely!
