  • Glad the op went well. Hoping the swelling goes down soon and you're feeling back to normal. I've heard a few people say blood thinners have a strange reaction on them. Light headed and a bit out of it.
Will you have a physio help you or do you have to do the exercises on your own?

ouch- bad w/e. Walked further than before... was that the cause??!! Or visit to physio on Friday?
Ended up at out -of-hours clinic at hospital y'day- knee was very swollen again and painful & hot. Fortunately it was a false alarm. Charming doctor who said- we're here 24 hours! Got more painkillers and reassurance.
Don't these things always happen at w/es? In the week could phone the ward or GP.

Just keep taking the painkillers and doing the exercises. Hopefully a little bit easier when the staples are out. Another physio appt end of next week- otherwise it is DIY.

    Thanks for your good wishes

Bailey had the vets Sat, he had his dressings taken off, (as planned) but he had a bit of redness and weeping, so he had to be dressed again...

Back Monday, - did he want to go did he heck, he even tried to get back into the car when I was there.... he had his dressings off..... but as he had been licking his paws.... he now has the lampshade on.....

Hes managed better today with it, - weve had to move the front room around for him and in my bedroom - had to move the bed against the wardrobe so he has 4foot clearance from the wall to the bed...

Forgot to say about dogs and tablet taking that often buried in cat food can work! I think my dogs would swallow half a sardine (messy but yummy!) without a second thought even if a pill was buried inside.
    Hope Bailey is better soon.

knee seems slightly cooler- but swelling normally , without infection, can last a couple of months! Fingers crossed antibiotics working otherwise I shall be contacting GP on Friday- don't want another w/e catastrophe!!!

  • So, Tuesday evening husband tells me he needs a cake for work for the baking competition. He normally doesn't bother but he said he'd like to be the dark horse nobody suspects and win by surprise. And with him only having two weeks before his op he thinks it would be fun. I start thinking up ideas, thinking I'll nip and get ingredients Friday afternoon. Nope. Needs it for Thursday.
I did think as it was referendum day I'd make it blue with yellow stars like the EU flag, but the colouring was way too pale sadly. So now it looks like a pale sky with stars. Made it 4 layers tall and made a smaller one..well..for me really! Not for the sugar fearing. There is so much buttercream in it!
Now I want to go sleep for a week. 30 weeks pregnant today and even baking is making me tired!

crazy cat well done with the referendum themed cake. It's a fab idea. Good luck with the competition. I guess tomorrow, I'll be thinking about your competition and not the referendum!!!!

I had a make a cake for an occasion and did a rainbow cake. My research recommended using gel colouring as the shop dyes aren't strong enough. I bought a pack of 8 colours from Hobby craft for £10 and got lovely bright colours. You only need a small blob of dye, so they will last for ages.

Payday is on Friday, so I'll buy a couple more presents this month. Plus we are off to Greece soon, so I'll,be on the look out for some nice prezzies there too.
