What would you do?

It's not a troll thread. It's a genuine "what would you do?" question... and a lot of responses to be fair are kinda well, heavily biased and unrealistic. I mean even if they did contact the neighbour and the neighbour says "yes i gave him the item....i dont have it anymore" , It's not rocket science to say "they're lying and did not give it to me" it would be my word versus theirs and so nothing would ultimately happen... in regards to that. Whether they would invest in a lot more money to take one of us to court over it is the only thing I'm concerned with really but I mean for the price it is... I hardly think they would...

The item is actually faulty as I've now compared it with other peoples via youtube and the quality is shockingly poor...it randomly resets itself so I ultimately WILL be returning this but mainly because its actually faulty and whats the point of having it faulty + on my concious. :p

thanks for the replies non-the-less... =)

    You're a crook.

You were obviously looking for a way to justify the theft and because you didnt receive any such response you class all the replies biased.

Hope the other one breaks a day after the warranty expires.
  • I think the answer depends upon the value of the item sent you. Sometimes the hassle of returning etc. would cost more than the item is worth.

Alternatively do I do the right thing and just tell the company I have the original, don't worry about the replacement...

    Why would you not?
Genuine question, forget all the irrelevancies about neighbours and faulty goods.
If you already know it's the right thing to do, then please explain why there is the dilemma?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Never ceases to amaze me the lengths people will go to to justify thieving.

If this were a genuine thread, all the company would have to do is send a letter to the neighbour saying you've got an item, please phone us to discuss. I don't get this thread at all.would you want your neighbour telling your other neighbours you are a thief?
  • The issue is they did not do what was instructed so my question is would you keep both if they did this to you? Seems I upset a lot of people by asking this however lol
  • I think you need to get a cup tea and read my post again in a more calmer mind set as I did say everyone's answers were biased you made that up on your own lol

So if you don't follow an instruction I gave you (but chose a suitable alternative, particularly given recent weather) I can just start stealing all your stuff?

If I say to you 'park close to the town centre' but you choose a slightly further away cheaper car park, you haven't followed instructions and for the hassle I can just steal your car?

What are you suggesting our answers are biased towards? You are aware that bias is not the same as "not saying what you want to hear", or are you suggesting we are all retailers in disguise?

The original contract has been fulfilled as you have the goods.

Are you acting honestly in keeping the second delivery?
