Mooloo's little tapestry of life, 2016

Well I spoke too soon, as DGD was sick at 1am this morning. So school rules are 24/48 hours after last bout. So no school today then!
The problem for me is that I have work still coming in to the shop, and older jobs to do.
I can't make my mind up what to do. One of the Mum's offered to have her for the day as she has the day off work, but DGD would be bored.
I could take her in to the shop and some gadgets etc and put her in the workshop upstairs. I could take her with me until staff arrived, and then come home, and bring all the sewing home to do. However that will mean that I have to set up machines at home, as I haven't worked at home for a long time, and can't currently access the machines without some major space clearing in my bedroom.
I could call staff and ask her to cover again, but she has already done 3 hours overtime, and the wage bill will be high while no work is being done. I noticed last night that only 3 jobs came in yesterday. So there is little staff can do all day.
I will have to decide fairly soon, as DGD will need waking. Although I don't want to wake her after a disturbed night. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I would suggest taking her to neighbour's with all her gadgets saying that you will be back at midday - or could you ask her mum to come up early? She's possibly just sick with excitement, poor little thing - and poor you!0
-
Mum isn't able to come as her partner is the driver. They are not coming until Tuesday lunchtime.
Neighbour is at work today.
Friend that offered is a possibility, although DGD doesn't know her as well.
I've decided to go in for opening up, with DGD and gadgets.
Then when staff comes in, I would be freer to come home if necessary.
I can close up early if staff can't do overtime.
I'm just concerned I don't let customers down.
Mind you my tummy doesn't feel quite right nowWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
We came home.
Staff came in at opening time and told me to go home. ( in a nice way).
I did two very small jobs that were urgent, then I have brought some other things home.
However it's taken me all morning to shuffle furniture around, and to dig out my sewing machines.
So a small chest of drawers moved out of the spare room and joined the other one I took from down here into DGDs bedroom. More space for her undies etc etc.
That meant when I'd moved lots of clutter onto my bed, I could get the small table and sewing machines out of the corner of my bedroom.
The machines came downstairs, and the table and the cammode went into the spare room, along with a mirror. So it is set up a bit like a dressing table. I could then dig out the travel cot, put things all back into the corner and left the cot up, to see that it all works for twin1 ( big IF, if they decide to stay over).
Then I have moved the glass table, little cane oval one, into the kitchen, and brought the folding table ( that stores chairs in it), into the front room, and my sewing machines are now set up ready to work.
The office chair from DGDs room is now also down here at the table, and after lunch I am ready to work.
My tummy is grumbling, and my throat is a little rough, so I am hoping that I won't succumb to anything, but also won't be surprised if it does.
DGD is of course feeling better, and has the PlayStation set up. Although I swapped TVs so she has it in her room. Yesterday she had it in my room and when she was bored she got makeup out, and got it all over my cream quilt cover that my friend had given me the day before!!When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I did my few jobs.
I lengthened a curtain that I might use in my front room, but as I have a bracket in the centre of the pole, it won't work unless I cut it in two and hem the sides. So I am undecided whether to use it, or think of something else.
I have made changes in all the rooms in the last three days, and I'm still not very happy with things.
Staff is going to do the shop, and I'm taking the day off again tomorrow.
My throat is sore, and my tummy is still not right, so a lie in and a duvet day is called for. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Only bailiffs (now called Enforcement Agents) collecting magistrates court fines, income tax or stamp duty have the power to force entry and take goods.
Bailiffs collecting any other debt have to rely on intimidation, threats etc even when the threats are not legal.
I have had a family recently where the bailiff has threatened to take their dogs - the chances of the dogs being taken (which are just normal dogs and not pedigree) are basically zilch as they have to have kennels to take them to and they are responsible for the costs etc.
The problem is that bailiffs will say whatever they think will persuade the debtor to pay, in Mooloo's son's case the threat of removing baby items has caused near on hysteria and in turn Mooloo paid the debt and too be honest anyone in Mooloo's situation would have probably done the same.
But even a bailiff isn't allowed to take essential items, and items for children certainly qualify.0 -
Nevermind, it's all done now.
Ds was due to work today but they cancelled on him last night. However with any luck he still has tomorrow. Luckily Biggest is supposed to be driving him and I will get my sleep.
I'm off to bed now to try and sleep. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
would your life not be easier without so much stuff in your house?
its only a thought but you seem to be overwhelmed with clothes and furniture
if you didn't have so much maybe you could have your machine etc all set up permanently , ready to use
perhaps a good declutter and give it to charity shop / clothing donation bin?
its easier to keep tidy without so much stuff and the house feels better (personal experience!)
its just a thought but maybe its time to be ruthless
(i sound a bit critical but i'm not meaning to be , it just sounds such hard work for you)0 -

I didn't say he could take essential items or items for children, just that they can force entry to take goods.
In my experience (as a Debt Adviser) bailiffs never take goods but when they threaten to take animals/stuff for children/essential items no matter how many times I explain they can't the debtor always believes the bailiff and ultimately ends up paying the debt in full.0 -
Oh your right. I have too much stuff.
The de cluttering is slowly going on. The reason for the problems is the comings and goings of DS originally meant moving DGD and him around, gaining and loosing a workspace. Etc
Having furniture for one thing, but it not then fitting in the next room etc.
This was compounded by the fact that I am not at home much to make the changes, or that I have been too shattered after work to tackle.
Because I had visitors coming I have had to finally start to tackle the house.
As I was home in the last few days it gave me short bursts of energy enabling me to find better use of the things I have, and I have thrown out some.
I confess that it is difficult for me to off load things, and therefore I horde fabrics and clothes, magazines and I used to horde books too. But I am getting better, and have started to give things away to those that need them.
Being enforced to make room for visitors and being at home for 3 days on the trot has enabled me to look at things and to want to make it more homely and less of just a house we have to exist in.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
