I am keeping an eye everyday in my diary. I can't seem to keep up with threads very easily, except this one!, and working on my iPhone I don't see signatures on here anymore. I've tried the new look layout and hate it, so gone back to the old format.
My morning routine is to check my bank balances, personal then business. Then I move it all around where necessary. So the 20% I intend to pay off each time I receive money gets paid across there and then, I don't wait for the DDs anymore. If I make a mistake and pay out too much I have a fall back of s £400 overdraft, but have so far only ever gone into it twice. And only for a day or so as I will move savings etc to clear it if necessary.
The shop bills outstanding are just under £300 and I hope to clear those within the fortnight. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Morning, I have not been feeling too well the last few days, I struggle with colic quite a bit and last night boy did it get bad. I'm glad to say I didn't actually vomit with the pain, but the sweats etc with it I really thought I was going to. But I have got through the worst of it, and apart from my tummy feeling as if it's on fire, I'm feeling a bit better. No spicy foods for me today, and some very tender muscles makes me feel I have been in a boxing ring.
On the plus side I don't have to go anywhere today if I don't want to, and I don't need any shopping, so a quiet day at home planned. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
We're having a "duvet day" well tartan blankets on the sofa.
All I have done is move the washing on and read. The tv hasn't been on either. DGD has been watching films on my kindle as I can't get her one to find the same Amazon account as mine. They tell me it doesn't exist!! Well it does as we are using it. So an old account has been resurrected ( must be old as its using my Mums name! So when I was bankrupt then!).
But I refuse to add Amazon prime at a cost of about £80 in 30 days time, when my £4.99 love film account was gobbled up by Amazon at some stage. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I'm not sure how my insurance would work.
I have work experience girls come in the June time, last year I asked the girl to overlock a circular tablecloth I'd cut out. Erm somehow it got smaller and was not even a circle at all by the time she brought it to me! And I didn't have anymore of the fabric either, so it cost me to replace it. So other then helping with customer service I ended up getting her to help make things with remnants to keep her busy!!
Oh dear!
I have to say that I was thinking of the more formal side of college students, where there are specific arrangements around insurance and some oversight by tutors. However, I have no recent experience, and certainly not in your field.0 -

I will see about contacting the colleges at some stage, but for now I want to get locals aware of the shop, as even though my advert went to over 10,000 households and the shop is on the Market Place it is amazing how many people do not know where we are.
I believe the classes will fill when more know about us.
So my mission is to get people to know where I am and what we do.
I've had my duvet day, read and read, then written loads of drivel in my journal, and now it's time to go back to bed in the hope that my fire pit of a tummy will be better tomorrow, and I have the energy to go and grab my life. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Morning. From a still quite delicate Mooloo.
With staying home at least we have been eating from the stores and haven't spent any money.
However on the downside I haven't done all the jobs I wanted to do.
I must not worry or regret that though, as taking time out for my health is just as important.
Reading was enjoyable, and continuing to look at my goals, ideas, etc is not a bad thing.
DGDs room was done.
I have decided that she now needs the bigger room and I should sort out and give up my workspace here, or reduce it in size by swapping rooms. That will be a project though, as the room has become the junk room, the glory hole!!
Perhaps a little sort out of the clothes and do some dreaded ironing today. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Are you sure she doesn't just need less stuff?
Don't give up much needed workspace - your need to have comfortable space to work are the bedrock of your life and a legitimate need. It's ok not to put children's convenience above your own as the breadwinner all the time.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -

Agreed. Plenty of kids have small bedrooms. It may be that she needs less stuff, or to get better at tidying it. Have a look at the KonMarie thread which is about reducing stuff.
My SIL has found that since reducing the clothes her children have she has less of a laundry mountain, and they are able to find things more easily and decide what to wear. Admittedly small children get through a lot of changes of clothes, but too many meant they were growing out of stuff that was almost unworn.
She has also thought more about their toy storage - toys they want to keep in their bedrooms are confined to an underbed storage drawer and a couple of fabric storage cubes each. They also have a bookshelf in their bedroom.
Some toys and books are kept downstairs, but there are lidded boxes for them to be put away in at the end of the day and designated shelves for the books.
Here they share a room, and all their toys live in it as well.0 -
She probably, no definitely has too much stuff and has come home with more clothes then there is room for.
I have told her if she keeps it tidy till Easter I'd move her ( it was her room originally), and to be fair the downstairs here is so cramped there really isn't room for her Lego etc etc. She currently doesn't have a wardrobe as the room is too small and the clothes were hanging off the end of the bunk. The other day I hung them in the wardrobe in the work room.
For me, I'm using that room as a store room more than a workshop these days, as I'm seeing st the shop, I'm only doing rare jobs st home, so I could work in a smaller room really.
I did have the MariKondo book on my kindle and had started to follow it once upon a time, although I didn't thank stuff as I threw it out. At the time a lot of it went to stock my shop, but I'm not going to be doing second hand clothes there anymore.
I will go and do some ironing while I think about that room. I hate ironing, and I have far too much to do. But what ever I do, I need to claim that room back. No time like the present. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
2 hours of ironing is enough for one day.
One IKEA bag of laundry and one round basket done. I have half a bag of clothes that no longer fit us, ready to pass along the line to my daughter for her girls. I have also a beautiful Karen Millen skirt that's too small for me, so it's going to have to go too.
I may try to eBay that one though.
Now I've turned the beef burgers into meatballs and cooking them in a can of tomatoes chopped and gravy granules mixed in with water. No added spices etc at the moment as tummy is still not right.
It's been very strange not stepping foot outside of the house for two whole days. But looking forward to taking Mum out tomorrow.
I should be menu planning so that I don't buy anything unless it's really necessary. So should has to go onto the Must List. ( Todo lists don't always get done!).When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
