All I can say is it's been a long day!

Evening. I am so tired, and ache.
Yesterday was quite busy and the sewing class was a challenge as one little girl has special needs and the other loves to talk.

In the evening I had to go to collect DGD from biggest of Mooloos, and we stopped for tea and I got to give DGS 4 his feed.
Today after a lay in we went for a long walk. 5.39km my phone app tells me, and this afternoon I did the wages and the accounts etc.
I thought it was bedtime and realised that it was only 7pm.
Don't know what's up with me. The heating is on, I've a huge heavy knitted jacket on, and a tartan throw over my legs and yet my skin feels shivery and my neck hurts, I feel as if my head weighs double and that I want to take it off just to rest my neck.
Looks like I will be going up early, electric blanket and lie down so I can take the weight off for a bit.
Tomorrow is going to be busy. School run, petrol station as driving on fumes. Work on my own till 12. Staff in at 12 and then I'm off to get my Mum to the hairdresser. Back for a fitting at 3, and then get Mum back home.
Before the school run. And if possible get back to work.
DGD has brownies, so I will be at work in the evening for an extra hour.

Hi Mooloo. My first thought, on reading your post, was when you have quite a full on exhausting lifestyle you need to protect your sleep, at all costs. When you're trying to bring up your DGD, be the main carer for your Mum to keep her in her own home, and run a shop employing people, you need all the energy you can get.

It's good you've had plenty of work since coming back. I am keeping my fingers crossed you won't have to dip into your own drawings from the shop to pay the staff and rent.

It is quite tight at the moment. I suppose it doesn't help that I'm in the middle of a bank switch etc etc. So I'm not sure where my money will be come the day I need to pay the rent.
One of the problems with the cash flow is that some people are not in any rush to come and collect their items, and pay. A few have paid up front, but not many. There is some £200 worth waiting collection, and looking at my spreadsheet on Saturday, there is about £290 worth of work waiting to be done.
I am not expecting to hit my daily target of £150 today as I'm on my own in the morning, then I'm taking time out to go to the hairdressers, collecting Mum and getting her there as well.
But I can go back in for an hour when DGD is at Brownies this evening.

I don't have the rent etc in my personal drawings, I haven't drawn any this week either. I would have to raid my emergency funds if it got that dier.
I am hoping for a little rush of people collecting and paying during this week.
Tomorrow I will be working on the big jobs, curtains that are in, as they are usually good money, but on the down side they usually pay by card and that takes 5 days to clear into my account, which may not clear I time for the rent.
But I'm not going to worry, I'm just aware that it is going to be extremely tight.
Mum needs to get some new clothes, she is so thin now, so I'm going to see if biggest of Mooloos can find time to take her granny as I will need to be sure I'm utilising my time to the best I can.

Admit defeat. I don't feel well. My skin hurts. My neck aches, and I've cancelled my day. Luckily hairdresser messages to cancel as herlittleboy is ill, so I could cancel Mum.
Did the school run and felt so bad I have put a note in the shop and come home.
    I can't do it.
I have made a cup of tea, and climbed back into bed, with paracetamol and a tramadol for the neck pain.
I'm going to drink the tea and go back to sleep! Maybe I will feel better later.

I slept all day. Well till 3pm when the phone rang, and nodded off until 5 when the alarm went and I went to get DGD.
I put some chicken in the oven to cook, as she was supposed to have brownies, however when I picked her up she said her throat is worse. A quick look and bless her it's so swollen it's just about closed. So ice cream rather then dinner. And she's already gone up to bed!
Think I better make plans for the shop. My lady is due to have a day off tomorrow! So that's not good. As I am not earning, I'm not going to make the shop rent without a miracle. Looks like I may have to use my personal savings to bridge the gap. That will be the first time in over 16 months.
    But what can I do?

I found cash flow, in the first few years of the business, quite hard to gauge. And partly, as you have found, because I couldn't always work at the pace I had planned to work.

I can imagine dipping into your emergency fund grates, but it's partly there due to your good management of funds in better times and also as a safeguard, in case you do need to recharge, knock a bug on it's head before it gets the chance to become full blown, etc.

I hope you and your wee one get back to full strength soon.

I've never slept so much as I did these last 36 hours.
DGD and I were back in bed by 7.30 and although I woke a few times, when I heard her crying, I was soon back to sleep. Considering I'd slept from 8pm till 6.30 am then from 9.30 till around 4 odd I'm amazed o still slept.
I've woken up at my normal time, but my skin still feels crawly.
Cup of tea, call the doctors at 8am when they open. More for DGD then me. But will see if someone will check me over too.

Decisions decisions. As my accounts are about to be switched etc I decided to transfer my savings pot into my main account, and then transfer the full rent amount into the business. That will give me peace of mind that the rent will be paid.
I have booked the doctors, my temperature is 102.2 using the in ear thermometer I use on DGD. Her throat is pretty closed up but her temperature is down to 98.
It's time to look after our health, and hope that the customers will understand, and come back later.
I've asked my other sewing lady to work on as normal, but with the shop floor closed. Staff is going to pop in to show her which jobs are the most important, and then put a closed sign up. As its not her day to work.
I will have to message the girl who had booked a lesson and cancel.
