Am thinking of going with the lentils first and see how that goes i usually buy value mince from tesco but my local inshops have a butcher who sells 2 kilo of steak mince for 2.50 i think so that may work out to be more economical. sorry about this but a q about my chicken stock in the slow cooker i chucked it all back in the pot (bones)and cooked it for a few more hours then drained it but since it wasnt cool before i went to bed i chucked it in the micro overnight will it still be ok to use today to make some sort of soup also it has a layer of grease ontop how do i get rid of that oh and soup how do i go about making it.

Wow, meat vans. I remember those - there used to be loads up north, havent seen any in and around London ( would be very interested to know if anyone knows of any? particularly east?)

Sounds like you have done superwell on the buying there, that should last you AGES!

re: those chicken burgers, Ive had those before, and I used to slice them up after being cooked, and stuck them in a wrap with salad ( like a HM KFC wrap!) with sauce/salad and wedges & corn on the side - you could have baked beans to make it a real KFC experience!!

    Hi there!
I find that the cheaper Tesco wraps, the smaller ones tend to stick together in the packet and are a real pain for this leaving holes in the wrap and food falling out. I buy Lidl's wraps - they are 59p for 6 big wraps and when warmed these are a bit stretchy which makes wrapping easier and they are much less likely to tear/ stick together. These are much the same as the Mission wraps that Tesco sell, but less than half the price. (if you only do a Lidl shop once a month or less then stock up when you are there as they have a long shelf life and sometimes they sell out) - I am stuck wrestling with Tesco wraps for the enchiladas tonight cos our lidl was sold out :(

Oh and they also come in a variety of flavours - we like the plain and the garlic/herb ones

Also do a search on here for Piadines - you can make "wraps" yourself using this recipe, and they dont stick together. Bit more hassle than opening a packet of course, but easy to make really.

re the biscuits being guzzled instantly, if the kids help make them they are much more careful about how many each person should be allowed.
My two used to make them themselves after a bit of helping me and always pointed out that there were 5 each or whatever.
We had some sweet making books from the library and if someone fancied sweeties, they would say, is there any cocoa to make chocolate peppermint balls?
