Ommmmmmggggggg!!
So I woke up feeling unwell so I had the day off work. After a nap I thoughts I would ring my ppi claims to see how they are going. My big one is still going through, hasn't been assigned to anyone yet so that will be months.
Then I rang about my littlewoods one and the man said "oh it looks like we have sent the cheque today!" I casually asked could he tell how much it was......
I was genuinely thinking it would be £100-£200....... Nope £940!!!!! Wheeeeeeeeee!
I am so happy, as soon as that clears I am going to pay off my OH, it will be like that council tax bill never happened (although I am still challenging it!)
Phew I feel so relieved to be able to clear that debt with him, I hate owing anyone anything, especially people I love. Now I feel like a wedge and a weight is lifted and I can get back to real debt busting again. That's 5 months of weekly payments to him removed straight away. All smiles right now, I can get my debt busting hat back on.:staradmin :staradmin Emergency Fund @ £300 Non CCJ Debts x 7 @ £2782/ £4055 PAID! No amazing update this weekend as I haven't made any extra payments anywhere. Next weekend however should be a ruddy corker.
Didn't cash my cheque or post my eBay because I woke up with the beginnings of a migraine.... Joy. It seems to have levelled off but my sinuses are killing me. So that's now scheduled for Monday, cheque should clear for next Friday though so that should make my debts look a lot better.
Got a holding letter for a ppi claim for Kay's despite me not sending the forms back yet, so I'm basically assuming the form isn't really needed, it's just to keep me busy. The claim is only tiny, less than £20, but it all helps!
Plan for tomorrow is to do the shopping (again) - OH is unwell and been off work 2 weeks with another week to go. Although I'm feeling pretty pap I'm more concerned about him, it's been going on since June. Also going to see if I can get something for my sinuses, a spray or something.
As a side note of TMI I have taken myself off the pill (micronor) because I'm fairly certain it's having a horrible effect on me mentally, I feel permanently like I have a mental veil over me which only started when I started taking it 18 months ago. I've suggested a rubber band around the OHs jewels but he's not keen, strangely. But he has agreed, once he's better, an appointment to talk about him getting the snip. Men are so funny about their balls :-)
Slowly pottering around the house doing housework, we have been working our way through what's in the cupboards and freezer, found a shocking amount of expired weight watchers jars of stir fry sauce so it looks like a week of stir frys next week.
Another reason I am working though the cupboards, aside from using things before they expire and saving money is because once my stepsons been with us after Easter I'm going to go back to low carb for a while, seeing food in the cupboards that's off limits that my OH can't be bothered to cook is very annoying! Might have to do some meal plans over the next couple of weeks to help me work through it all.:staradmin :staradmin Emergency Fund @ £300 Non CCJ Debts x 7 @ £2782/ £4055 PAID! Oh I did have some mildly good news, after 3 months of debt busting I have increased my credit rating from 142 to 187, one of my debts that cleared has been updated but the other hasn't so if it hasn't changed and improved to reflect that next month I shall flip my actual wig.
Aside from my CCJS there is nothing I can pay that will help it in leaps and bounds, just making my payments, so I'll do that.:staradmin :staradmin Emergency Fund @ £300 Non CCJ Debts x 7 @ £2782/ £4055 PAID! hahahahahahahahahahahahahah
I had another bill, from back in the day when I didn't open my post and ran away. Not surprising when I am stirring the bill pot.
So yeah another £972 to pay for many years of water unpaid. At this point I am "whatever".... there can't truly be that much more so I am hitting that bottom of the debt barrel now. What started out at 10k in January has gone up to almost 13k. All I can do it deal with it, prioritise and move on.
I haven't contacted the company yet to make an arrangement; I will do so in a few weeks. I am going to bash away at the money I owe the OH and getting my holiday paid and my emergency fund at £500 if I can.
I did pay £600 to my OH this week, I was planning to do the full £900 but then the cat decided to be a git and need an emergency trip to the vet on Friday night. A £240 trip to the vet. Sigh, She's insured but with the excess I will only get £90 back. Still, she my baby cat, she had an infection and she was growling when I tried to pick her up and she wasn't really moving so she had to go. No regrets.
I did do a bit of jiggery-pokery today. My fitbit was splitting at the back, I bought it 11 months ago from arrrgos and they let me swap it out for the latest model, the Blaze, which is prettier and I got a £40 refund hitting my card in the next few days. Always helpful.
So yep, trudging on. That's all I can do. Waiting for the say when I am actually saving for my wedding day not paying the price for years of running away. Updated sig:
