I have another wombling to report. Went shopping with DS1 for the wedding he is going to attend in 2 weeks time. Popped in to a G@P outlet and whilst he was in the fitting room, I asked one of the male staff to assist us. Because it was relatively quiet, he stayed with us the whole time almost like a personal shopper. He was so nice and friendly. We chatted about all sorts of things and when it was time to pay, he served us at the till as well. We were so surprised when he gave us further 20% discount on top of the 40-50% discount they were promoting at the moment. It was such a pleasant surprise especially as we didn't even ask for that extra discount. It's so nice to know there are still a lot of nice and generous people around. We paid only £38 for a pair of chinos, a shirt, and a nice leather belt, with a discount of £46.84.
And another good news, the cheque from HMRC for my tax refund has arrived!"There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150 -
Oh! another womble to report, DH bought a belt from a company, and when it arrived it was too short (!) so he sent it back and asked for a longer one (who knew belts came in different lengths???). The belt never turned up, so he wrote to the company who said 'oops forgot to send the replacement, have 20% off, very sorry' the belt arrived today, sent next day delivery, and there were two belts and a note of apology! So we will claim £8. What great customer service.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

TOG know exactly what you mean about the soup. Isn't there a saying about knowing the price of everything but the value of nothing. I couldn't go back to eating out all the time as I do find food very overpriced and don't get me started on alcohol!
Foxholes delighted for you. How crazy about the £200 though." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

TOG I would have been shocked at the price of a bowl of soup and bread roll as well. It would have spoilt the taste for me.

I’m feeling really inspired by everyone’s magnificent wombling finds and picking up lots of tips and tricks.
I have still not found any roadkill. I do need to work on my technique. I am too interested in the trees and birds and forget to check the pavement as I walk along.
Never mind I found that we are £30 up in our bank account from a cashback when we switched our providers last month.
I bought some Yellow Stickered Tesco’s Finest Yorkshires reduced from £1.50 to 74p. Now I know in theory I could make them cheaper but I have never been able to master Yorkshire puddings. Mine sit like a stone in the stomach of the poor recipient of my culinary attempts!
I found some Shapers savoury Popcorn in Boots reduced to 10p a packet and I snapped up five packets for my DS’s grocery box that we take up to him when we visit him. He manages fantastically on a limited budget so I often pack him some little treats that he can’t normally afford to buy.
Finally the lovely Head at the school where I work buys every one of the staff an Easter Egg and arranges an Easter Egg Hunt. I won a lovely Yorkie Easter Egg with a mug included worth £4 in money (but priceless in the kind thought behind it).
So by my calculations I have wombled £37.76 which makes it a grand total of £54.13
Can I just check Bobarella that I’ve understood correctly? We post our totals and you update at the beginning of the month? Do you prefer it posted in the signature at the bottom or in the main thread?Stashbusting 2019 - 230/3000 -
Wombled a free woggle at beavers this week, usually 20p, but my smallest is just tooo cute and they won't take money from him, so he said he was going to 'feed the pig' cos it looked hungry. Who am I to say no to a miniature womble.
In other news, the £200 reduction in mortgage offer turned into a £1315 reduction with no explanation. But the kids 6% accounts got swept (or maybe Tilly tidied?) into my account, so they all have over £30 spending money (the interest) for the Easter holidays, so it will save me having to keep giving them pocket money, and I have the rest of the money to pay solicitors fees and stamp duty and all the rest of the nonsense that goes on.
So, I would like to report a grand total of £141.01 in wombled interest/saved holiday spends, and 20p from Scouting for Wombles4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Well done on your fab start.
Yes it would be great if you posted your total at the start of each month.
