  • Some great wombles people, well done.

I have had a successful few days.

I am working on a temporary contract at a University in the students union with my OH, which means we have been visiting the freshers fair for the freebies.

    We wombled

3 x Dominoes personal pizza with one topping (£15.87)
4 x slices of Dominoes Cheese pizza (will claim £4)
2 x Pie Minister Pies (waitrose sells them for £2.62 so £5.24 wombled)
    1 x Coke Zero 500ml bottle (will claim £1.29)

as well as several vouchers for Dominoes pizzas, but I won't claim a value for them now, i'll wait till i use them.

Then on thursday I found £1.

Today my OH's parents came round and bought with them the following

16 cans of coke zero (will claim £5)
a tin of biscuits and a box of tea as a gift from their holiday (will claim £5)
a packet of maryland biscuits (will claim £1.50)

  • A couple of years back I rescued a wheelbarrow from a builders skip - they'd gone, and left a handsome if slightly battered Haemmerlin barrow.

Being short, I struggled a bit, but then used it to wheel my workbag back to the car. Sons have adopted it as a family mascot as well as workhorse.

Never stop quietly eyeing skips. All sorts of odd delights lurk.

I went to a wedding and had to kit out the 4 boys in suits/waistcoat/cravat, so started looking in Feb and resold after the wedding in June - made over £100 as it was full wedding season and I had bought in the low season. So odd to think a suit has a season. They go crazy in December for the Christmas wedding/ Hogmany too.

    Wow great bargain:j

  • Have just bounced off an unexpected penalty for wombling Asda receipts - in the T&Cs is says
"Each household can only claim a maximum of 10 vouchers per calendar month, or a maximum value of £100 in vouchers per calendar month"

So the one for 48 pence means I can't claim the £1.63 one yet. Bother!
